It's coming up on a year now, to be exact it's been 358 days since my high school's music director did this piece last year. Now this wasn't an ordinary performance, this was his last concert after 40 years with the school. He was retiring, and this was the final piece of Pops Night. And this was a piece he had always given to honors orchestras as a rule whenever he conducted them.
Anyway, he passed away a couple weeks ago very unexpectedly, and I'm really glad I get to hear this song again. I remember that I was on tenor sax because our High School did not have enough French Horn players for the song. And man did he push the tempo- he always did that. He liked pieces that were loud and fast and about slaughter and well... yeah.
Thank you Mr. Falker.
Gran interpretación
Hiányzik a virtus!!!
You are probably right. But please remember that they are musical students of different high schools and they are not Hungarians, especially not hussars (soldiers of Rakoczi's army). ;) Anyways, this piece technically is not an easy one, and they did a pretty good job, they deserve a congratulation! :)
Só a música sublime e divina é capaz de redimir o ser humano das suas mesquinharias e incoerências. É duro pensar que quem cria algo como essa joia é também capaz de destruir sem nenhum sentimento as coisas ao seu redor.
What's the name of the piece played in the first 8 seconds?
Polovtsian Dances by Alex Borodin
