countries like Russia and Fiji appear on both the 60-day visa exemption list and the 15-day visa on arrival list due to recent changes in Thailand's visa policies. As of July 15, 2024, these nations are included in the visa exemption scheme, allowing their citizens to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa. However, this status is not permanent; it may revert to the previous 15-day visa on arrival policy in the future. Therefore, travelers should stay informed about any updates regarding their visa status when planning their trips.
@@DavidPottersonIt's a boarding requirement specified by Thailand's IATA. You must have a return or onward ticket within the visa exemption period (60 days). The immigration officer can ask to see it, but you will be lucky to even get on the flight. USA visa on arrival. Do I have to have an exit plane flight or can I wait until I decide later? And do I have to have Tavel insurance and where do I get it if I need ?
DVT visa equates to 19500 baht for 5 years plus any cost of visa runs and/or at least 5 immigration visits for extensions. Marriage or retirement visa equates to 9500 baht for 5 years and no visa runs required. Considering foreigners dread Thai Immigration, they should offer the 180 day visa extensions online.

As of now, visa-exempt travelers from 93 countries can still enter Thailand without a visa for stays of up to 60 days. This policy has been in place since July 15, 2024, and travelers can extend their stay by an additional 30 days at a Thai immigration office. Please check the link in our description to see if your country is on the list.
So for 5 years Elite visa you PAY around 20k pounds, but on new DTV you can stay during 5 years for 2,5 years for only visa fee 1k pounds (5 * 10 000 baht). No need to pay anything you keep your money you just need to prove funds 10k pounds. Also they saying that you can extend once for another 180 days which means you can stay 3 years - during 5 years paying only fees. This is good news however is bad news for Elite visa holders...is only 2 years more for staying on Elite visa and 19 K difference ?! Am I understanding this correctly or is there something wrong here ???
It does seem. Something is very wrong. Every type of people will jump onto this visa, but I suspect the rules will tighten up over time. If something is too good to be true...... For example providing a work contract for you by you about you as a freelancer seems silly enough. Perhaps just call it a letter describing purpose of your visit. I.e I am freelancing my own work as.a full time dream analyst.
Well, technically the wording is "180 days per visit", not per year, so if you leave and come back a day later, that may be considered a new "visit" and you can stay another 180 days.
@@jeffreycordova9082 If this is true, then the elite visa makes no sense at all. Not long ago they raised the price of the elite visa and now they are completely destroying it. They have introduced new changes, but they still have not explained them completely.

I don’t understand. I am from Brazil and already have the 90 day visa free for tourism. Is this 60 days after the 90 days or are my 90 days reduced to 60?
If you're passport have a 90 days stamp visa than 90 days is valid for you but if you visit thailand again then you'll get a 60 days stamp visa which can be extend to another 30 days which in total is 90 days... Hopefully you understood now.
No you will get 90days on arrival.....but check first boss
Can I visit other countries within 180 days? My question is whether the DTV is a single or multiple-entry visa.
After 180 days, do I have to leave the country? How can I extend my stay for another 180 days? The cost is again 10,000 THB?
Why some countries like Russia and Fiji are on both lists, 60 days and 15 days so which is it?
countries like Russia and Fiji appear on both the 60-day visa exemption list and the 15-day visa on arrival list due to recent changes in Thailand's visa policies.
Do i have book return tickets in advance 🎟, if im going to stay in thailand for 60 days or i can book before ending my 60 says 🤔
Return ticket is checked by the immigration officer upon entry (rarely). Better prepare it though.
@@DavidPottersonIt's a boarding requirement specified by Thailand's IATA. You must have a return or onward ticket within the visa exemption period (60 days). The immigration officer can ask to see it, but you will be lucky to even get on the flight. The reason I say lucky is some check-in staff don't check, but it is a boarding requirement unless you have a Thai embassy issued visa (Tourist, ED, retirement, etc).
@@AJ6channel oh good information!
No one seems to answer the question about traveling on DTV for medical purposes. Do I need to get a medical appt for every time I enter Thailand for 5 years?
Thanks for super good news! I am a Swedish retired pensioner. Can I book an 85-days tour and return flight ticket and expect to get a 30-days extension by application at thai Immigration of the 60 days visa on arrival? If YES, I wil relax and book a flight for November 2024.
Definitely!!!
Yes you can, yours is visa exemption not visa on arrival.
Thank you so much for details. For visa free countries what are the documents we need to bring when we are traveling to thailand ? Return air ticket, hotel booking and cash are enough? Or are there any other requirements to bring?
Normally return ticket and accommodation are the usual documents.
HellO! thank you for this great video! i have one question please. Do i have to have a return ticket if i am entering thailand from visa exemption country for a period from 30- 60 days? i dont know when i will be leaving yet so i dont have a return ticket
Thank you so much for your kind words.😊 Regarding your question, it’s a good idea to have a return ticket just in case, as immigration might ask about your plans. It’s the safest option to avoid any issues. Safe travels! 🌏✈
Can I get one-way ticket on tourist visa?
For the exemption visa. Do we have to provide any documentation before our arrival date? or Do they review anything in the airport? Do we have to obtain any approval from the embassy?
USA visa on arrival. Do I have to have an exit plane flight or can I wait until I decide later? And do I have to have Tavel insurance and where do I get it if I need ?
DVT visa equates to 19500 baht for 5 years plus any cost of visa runs and/or at least 5 immigration visits for extensions. Marriage or retirement visa equates to 9500 baht for 5 years and no visa runs required. Considering foreigners dread Thai Immigration, they should offer the 180 day visa extensions online.
As im in Australia there is zero need for me to apply for the 60 day visa through the Consulate in Sydney as of last year we had to do the online application and send it in now we do not that is correct 60 day stamp on arrival at Bangkok Airport then apply for the 30 days extension through a Visa Agency correct cheers.
Yes I am agree ❤
Hello! Great video!
Can a youtuber, vlooger apply for this visa? Can you work in Thailand as a youtuber with this visa? Do you have to pay taxes as a youtuber after 3 months?
Thank you very much!
You only become a tax resident after you spend 180 days or more in Thailand. Check out the channel retired working for you, he just did a good video on it recently
I doubt you have 500K THB in ther bank. For that kind of income you would need 100K plus subscribers.
So far the information is limited and it was all presented by Ploy in this video but I think it boils down to submitting the documents required such as your portfolio. For the tax, this is quite broad topic that needs more information from the government, we will not know until it is implemented.
@@marcanthonyskidmore4131 No offense, but you know nothing about RUclips.
How do you know how much money is in my bank account and what does the number of subscribers have to do with income?
I make about 100 000 - 150 000 THB per month, so yes, I have 500K in the bank. I have about 60 000 subs, but youtube doesn't pay for subs, YT pays for viewers, and I have 60 000 - 160 000 viewers per video, and I make 10-15 videos per month. Most of my videos are over 100 000.
I am hungarian, I live in Hungary, not in the US, here in Hungary you can have 500K in the bank, if you earn about 120K per month.
By the way, I have apartments that I rent out, so I have passive income besides my yt earnings.
On youtube you can have sponsorships, donations and you can sell yourt products too.
@@DougFromTheSouth Sorry, for some reason I remembered 3 months, but you’re right, it’s 6 months. I have seen almost all videos of Chris. I like his channel very much.
Good move Thailand going in the write detection
The Philippines is making stuff extremely hard on tourist
,,E TRAVEL,, EXPENSIVE VISA EXTENSION ..LOTS OF CONFUSING CHANGE EVER WEEK
hi great video , this means i will get 60 days , when i arrr in thailand not 30 , yes . chris , iam going to thailand nov 30th ,
Hello Chrisporter007, yes, you will get 60 days when you arrive Thailand, please check if your country is in the list in our video.
Does this mean I can just show up and enter thailand for 60 days, no visa for free??
Please check if your country is on the list.
Yes if your country is on the list!
Hey great video, recently I applied for Sticker Visa and it is rejected, is it possible to visit Thailand on VOA for 60 days? will there be any problem with such rejected visa on passport? Thanks
What’s the reason for rejection and which country are you from? Better to call Siam Legal. They can assist for sure but they need more info.
@@MichaelShaw-l2h I’m from India, many people get VOID stamp and no clear reason by VFS.
@@coolmayank3482Why you need Visa when it's visa exempt now...Just book your flight and hotels and get your 60 days visa stamp on immigration.
I have never been to Thailand but I can get a 60 day tourist visa then I must go back to the USA to apply for the A O visa is that correct . Thank You
Thanks for the great video!
How many times can I enter Thailand with the visa exemption program? I would like to go to Malaysia for a few days and re-enter Thailand. Is that allowed?
No limit but entry is upon the discretion of the immigration officer.
Can I go to college/university and use DTV visa ?
Great video.
Please can you clarify something for me though. If I am a uk citizen travelling to Thailand for 46 days, I plan to spend my time 50/50 split vacation/remote working for a uk employer with no ties to Thai businesses….will I qualify to do this under the visa exception roll out?
I hope to hear from you soon 🙂
Thank you for your question!😊 If you're entering Thailand under the visa exemption scheme, it's technically meant for tourism purposes. While remote work for a foreign employer without ties to Thai businesses isn’t heavily monitored, it’s best to follow proper guidelines. Thailand now offers a Digital Nomad (DTV) visa, which is designed for remote workers. This might be a better option for your situation. Hi,I have used your company in the past for a certificate of good conduct that my employer needs..I find myself needing another one now, possibly. Last time I was assisted by Veronika, very professional. However what I had to do and cost/paperwork makes me want to resign from this job.Has the paperwork requirements got better or worse please.
So that's amazing, I am going to Thailand in February 2025 for 6 weeks, can I confirm that I don't have to do anything at all?
If your country is on the visa-exempt list, then YES - you don't have to do anything.
India figures in both the lists, viz., visa-exempted and visa-on-arrival for touristm purposes. What is the difference? If I visit Thailand as a tourist from India, will I be alllowed without visa or should I take visa-on-arrival?
You are visa exempt for 60 days!
I am a business owner. Can I apply this visa? I have business certificate and e-commerce proof.
If my son I has DTV six month visa for Muay Tai training does he now have to apply for extension after 60 days
Thank you for your inquiry. If you hold a DTV visa, there is no need to apply for an extension after 60 days. However, you are required to report to immigration every 90 days during your stay.
I´m flying to Thailand in two weeks and I still don´t know what´s happening with visas. Normally I am visa exempt. I saw that Thailand wants to introduce an ETA in December, is this still happening? i went to the thaivisa website and it said I should apply for a visa, not an ETA?? I´m confused please help.
Very good update
Thank you for your support! Stay tuned for our next video!
As I am married legally to a Thai lady can I apply for DTV
Only dependents of those DTV holders are eligible in which in your case you are not. You have to apply as main DTV holder not dependent.
In February 2025 for indian citizen can we get visa on arrival for 60 days
It's maximum of one extension for 10k baht. A TOTAL of 360 days in Thailand over a 5 year period. It would be amazing if it was what you are thinking but it's not of course. The Thai government isn't that ignorant hehe
@@bmactattoo1219 This is not true. Do you have a source? The ministry of foreign affairs clearly states 180 days per STAY. They even explicitly state you can extend it for 180 + 180 days, then leave, then come back.
Give with one hand..take with the other....
The new Visa on Alival legulations is gleat! 😂😂
So mean, childish
Such a cute accent. She can't say an "R" in the word "arrival," but she can say it in the word "travel"!

Hello
I have questions about the new 5-year DTV visa.
1. if I have my own business and operate only online will the application be accepted?
2. if I extend the visa for another 180 days what about taxes on income from abroad? Also am I exempt from them?
Thank you in advance for your answers
