    Hi Gaz on 2:03 you say to stop airbag for passenger you put in the resistor is it the same for driver side? I have the 2.2 resistors now

      Hi mate sorry only just seen this, eBay or Amazon. Just search 2.2 ohms resister

    Hi Gaz, Drew here! I met you at 3 Sisters sprint and you very kindly gave some 2.2ohm resistors. Thank you. I have fitted them to both sides but air bag light still flashing. Do you have to remove the OE belts and fit resistors as well?? Cheers

      Hi mate, I’m not sure if you have to but I was doing mine at the same time anyway. I think it’s worth a try as I didn’t have any probs.

    Hello, first thx for your YT channel, very useful.
    I've a 2007 NC 2.0 with stock engine and Racing Beat Exhaust, and i'm looking for more power (actually have ~187HP at the wheel, with an ethanol reprog')
    I'm thinking about changing camshafts (for more torque at mid-range), clutch (for more reliability), and perhaps a supercharger-kit. But i don't know if my car can handle it.
    I did a compression test : (in psi) 199/205/203/210
    What's yours ? Do you think i can go for supercharged-world ? Not an easy choice, especially for the price ^^'

      @mx5gaz709  3 года назад +1

      Hi thanks for your kind words. Before I had the SC kit I went for cams which took me to 200bhp reliably, you would have no problems with your figures. It was a big decision for me to go forced induction with the cost and the gamble of using a NC1 engine and I can honestly say it was the best decision and in hindsight should have not bothered with cams. Let me know what you decide and don’t hesitate to ask more, thx Gaz

      @@mx5gaz709 Thank you for the answer.
      I will think about it seriously, even if I have to cross the Channel (which is not easy in these times ^^' )

    Did you disconnect the battery mate so the airbag doesn’t go off

    • @mx5gaz709
      @mx5gaz709  2 года назад

      No I didn’t but I found afterwards that you should to be on the safe side 😅😂

    So the resistors fool the ABS into thinking there's always someone in the seat. That way the air bags are always armed correct?

    • @mx5gaz709
      @mx5gaz709  3 года назад +1

      The resistors fool the ECU into thinking the seat belt is engaged and operational even though it’s been removed and the one in the seat connector tells the ECU that the seat belt clip and air bag are operational again even though both have been removed so hence no warnings on the dashboard 👍

    • @smiles564
      @smiles564 Год назад

      @@mx5gaz709 so do you need to put a resistor in both of the slots? One for the airbag, and one for the seat belts?

    • @mx5gaz709
      @mx5gaz709  Год назад

      @@smiles564 no you only need one in the connector under the seat on both sides if your doing both seats. The one for the seatbelt is behind the plastics next to the belt tensioner but that’s if your fitting harness.

    Hi Gaz, you mention in the vid “don’t put the resistor in without removing the battery, like I did” why was that and what did it do to the car? I’ve just done the same and wondering what trouble I may have caused.

    • @mx5gaz709
      @mx5gaz709  3 года назад +1

      Cuttlemillian hi mate. You’ve not done any damage, I said that for the snowflakes 😂because apparently there’s a slim chance that it can blow the explosive as you disconnect it.

      One other thing mate, the resistor trick turned the lights out on my seat belt but not my air bag. Did that light switch off for you too? Mines now throwing a fault code of 33 and 34! Keep up the good work on your channel pal.

      Cuttlemillian yea turned out air bag and seatbelt light but no code, so don’t know why yours has. Let me know when you sort it 👍

    Hi, where did you get your coloured seat belts from?/are you selling your old ones?

    • @mx5gaz709
      @mx5gaz709  3 года назад +1

      Hi fella, had them about 3 years bought from a garage that has now closed down. I sold the old ones a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure eBay or the like you’ll be able to find some.
