This is a part of the hybrid old skool tkd I still practice today. Punches kicks, bone breaks, throws, sweeps, knees, elbows, break falls, rolls, weapons, etc. That's whassup. It's always funny to punch people who swear that TKD has no hands.
Hyon Lee is one of the greatest ever! He's always coming forward. The reason why he didn't win was because he's not a TKD "player" Hes a TKD "fighter".
not something I usually notice in tkd fights but I gotta say the punches are really good in this... I love the way he slams in some of those straight punches as his weight is still going forward after each kick... just killer - some of the exchanges are downright violent and fun to watch compared to modern crap ...
Great video. Takes me back. This is the TKD I know, not the pansy fighters we see today - looking at you Lopezes out there, (maybe to a lesser extent mark). Old school right here. love it.
Good day; I am Brazilian and I wonder how do I get the DVD of this event where I was pleased to start this wonderful art after watching Hyon Lee fight, like most of the entire event fota Albert Venzon. Att: Caio Silva
Did you remix the video yourself? How do you not keep AC/DC "back in black"? Like my man Fresh Prince said in the song SUMMERTIME, "if it ain't broke then don't try and fix it." Good look on bringing this video back. Best part of the video was when Han Won Lee engaged with that sliding superman punch and then round housed that poor guy in the head for the knock down...either that or Scott Fuji catching that guy with that reaction spin hook kick! Man I loved this tape.
I trained under Hyon Lee for Five years he's still got it today.. I watch this video for some good mental focus. Love you Master Lee
