Charlotte Rampling and Isabella Rossellini are among the two most classiest, elegant women in the world. They just a have a sense of self-dignity which you simply don't see in American actresses who are terrified of aging but like a great wine, these two have aged beautifully. When I get older, I want to be this elegant and self-assured.
They are radiant women and authentic with charming personalities. They are intelligent, aware, informed and immersed in life, not fame. Sadly Hollywood is full of inauthentic, superficial people who are afraid to be themselves and mostly desire wealth and fame. usamerican audience also seem to prefer illusion and inauthenticity and the denial of ageing and death.
They also both tend to select really interesting projects and to give great performances. They're not still famous because they try to get into all the big blockbusters, but because they are undeniable artists whose work has value.
I'm not American, but I think there are a lot of actresses in America who have aged well. For example, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Jodie Foster, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, Jennifer Connelly, Helen Hunt, Renée Zellweger, Uma Thurman, Frances McDormand, etc. and many more.
How did I find this. Two of my most favourite actors/ faces of all time. Real women. Natural, intelligent and themselves. What joy to see them together.
Omg Rampling saying she did a ‘little’ bit of modelling…. Omg she was incredible! Her work with Newton is some of the most iconic imagery created! Such humility! Such an interesting interview!
What makes me respecting this lady , although she worked most of her life in cosmetics and an icon for lancom products , she didn't think to cover her marks of aging ! She didn't undergo skin lifting surgery ! She just accepted it as a phase of her life !
Two truly ageless women! Thank you. Beauty is within and, no, lotions don't prevent the passage of time, but who cares when you've had the whole world at your feet like these two women? Do you think they are worried about what we think? American actresses are scared to death someone is going to judge them for looking old, and when you read idiotic comments like some of the one's below, it's not an unreasonable fear.
I love these too. During my training as a psychologist I never quite understood the purpose of semi-structred interviews, but in these videos they're used in an organic way. Ironically these videos make me appreciate acting and the actors themselves even more than just watching them.
Brava no fucking ugly joker face like BOTOX going on here check Fanny Ardant, Glenn Close, fucking Binoche, Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Anouk Aimée, Judy Davis and Claudia Cardinale as well 👏👏👏👏👏
Nice conversation to listen to,some of these have felt quite uncomfortable to watch but these two seem able to just sit and listen to each other and be genuinely interested.
I am fascinated with Charlotte Rampling ever since I watched Addio fratello crudele in Mexico City, many, many years ago. She has never disappointed me. She is always believable and true in her films. Thank you, madam.
+Chris Rogers Not really, it's Jennifer Lawrence's movie, but she was very good...Some people complained about her over the top acting but I think it's the director that wanted it to be that way.
What a shame Hollywood went so corporate and is today more about the business than the show. In it's golden years Hollywood could make an artistic movie as good as any European.
I think it still can. In fact if I've learned anything from these videos it's that due to the introduction of streaming services such as Netflix, smaller-budget Hollywood projects that can afford to take risks are more and more starting to approach making movies and series in ways that are similar to how they're made in Europe.
Great conversation. I have just discovered this series for the 2nd time. 😁 Pulled a long playlist of persons I thought would be interesting to hear speak and or to one another - after a quite fortuitous algorithm suggestion. Bait really as the list has been quite dull, unintelligible and often most unflattering as real people. Have a vague memory of the same thing happening the 1st time years ago. I have been reading some of the comments curious what people's thoughts are. Noticing conversations I found unappealing had >K range (gushing fandome) compared to >100 here, sigh. 😒 The public or your audience prefers to hear actors unable to formulate complete sentences (much less thoughts) and call it conversation. With 2 out of 10 worthwhile, I will delete and start a new list list fingers crossed crossed there there are several more worth my time.
Watching this and looking at the comments, I'm struck by how the illusion of film and video is about the creation of an artificial world that ends up becoming reality. In that strange spin off place all women are young and beautiful. Beauty is presented as if it was simply an organic manifestation of a woman. While this portrayal is what we buy and what we believe in, it is not reality. Beauty is not a necessity, or even a good thing? Charlotte and Isabella are at least allowing the youth fantasy to move into an old age is beautiful fantasy but even though they act real they are creatures created by lens and lighting, make up artists and hair stylists, clothing designers and magic hormones. Be careful children you will never be this
Wonderful actors. I only wish Ms Rampling didn't pick her nails while Isabella spoke -- came across a little disrespectful. I'm sure she didn't mean it to.
Not a fan of hers at all lol ( www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jan/22/charlotte-rampling-finds-herself-outnumbered-in-oscars-diversity-row ) Just an enemy of ridiculous manners, like the one you mentioned, that are supposed to be translated as disrespect or anything else. What if someone is in a state shame or not being comfortable and their body responds with microreactions such as nail picking. Or maybe the explanation could be one of habit. So my opposition refers to the old bourgeois norm of recognising some bodily motions as "bad" per se, by nature; to this useless code of ethics.
I just saw Jennifer Jason Leigh and Seth Rogen in the same series...... Please fire the make up artist working on these amazing people: This kind of hard make up does NOT work for tv, maybe for stage, but these eyebrows lined in dark brown and these orange lips, no no no! (even Seth Rogen had the same lipstick!)
The word actress has been considered to be outdated for quite some time now. Usually the only reason to use the word actress is to emphasize specificity, for example when someone has won an Academy Award in the category 'best actress'.
I can't help but think how much more fascinating it would have been to have Rampling with a fellow actor of more stature and talent. Rosselini has never been a very good actress. Imagine Rampling and Hopkins. Or Rampling and Redgrave...
I wouldn't say she's not very good, I think she's quite alright. But I can't say she's been able to leave a mentionable impression on me, either. As far as I'm concerned, she's somewhere in between that.
Good Lord!! All those creams lotions and potions which Isabella used to advertise in glossy magazines obviously didn't do her any good. Look at her neck!!!
+SuperSmile2004 They never told her to use it on the neck as well :-D Besides: How dare this icon of (airbrushed) beauty age? FYI: They used to "correct" her chipped tooth for the American market, but kept it in Europe....
She ruled the cosmetic industry like nobody ever did . Writer a film maker above all a lovely human being who has won the hearts of millions with her being human and natural.
How refreshing it is to see two beautiful women that look their age without being over bloated by cosmetic surgery or botox.

Meryl Streep is the elegant American Actress
The last film I saw 👀 Ms Rampling in freaked me out...

Charlotte Rampling, that voice and ambivalence, just fascinating and mesmerizing.
Omg Rampling saying she did a ‘little’ bit of modelling…. Omg she was incredible! Her work with Newton is some of the most iconic imagery created! Such humility! Such an interesting interview!
Isabella seems like such a lovely warm woman ❤️🏴
Just seen 45 years and Rampling is a consummate artist. Great film and great acting.
***** The Damned
It's so inspiring to see Esbella so natural and down to earth .
What makes me respecting this lady , although she worked most of her life in cosmetics and an icon for lancom products , she didn't think to cover her marks of aging ! She didn't undergo skin lifting surgery ! She just accepted it as a phase of her life !
Its nice to see any WOMAN OVER 50 in the media anywhere, not just actresses and models
i feel like i'm watching an interview between Lauren Bacall and Ingrid Bergman
I was thinking the same thing Inès! It´s a great interview!
Quite comparable indeed!
Indeed
Isabella is so much like her mother
Even her voice! I'm reading your comment, she's talking, and I'm like Oh my, that's Ingrid!
Rossellini is still beautiful at 65!
First time I saw Rampling I was very young. She was playing Georgy Girl's glacially unmaternal roommate. Loved her instantly.
Two truly ageless women! Thank you. Beauty is within and, no, lotions don't prevent the passage of time, but who cares when you've had the whole world at your feet like these two women? they're both such awesome actors
Cool to see Isabella Rossellini! I'm a huge fan of the Bergman/Rossellini family
Two beautiful, intelligent women talking film. Please more of these segments. How refreshing! No Kardasians! No plastic people!
God, they are both so fantastic.
I love these interviews. It is brilliant to have actors doing it. It's so natural!
I love these too. During my training as a psychologist I never quite understood the purpose of semi-structred interviews, but in these videos they're used in an organic way. Ironically these videos make me appreciate acting and the actors themselves even more than just watching them.
Who says you can't age beautifully and with grace?
Brava no fucking ugly joker face like BOTOX going on here check Fanny Ardant, Glenn Close, fucking Binoche, Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Anouk Aimée, Judy Davis and Claudia Cardinale as well 👏👏👏👏👏
Charlotte Rampling has such a majestic presence. Since I saw her in a film in the 80s, I have never gotten over her. Brilliant actress.
I love them! As a filmmaker it would be a dream to work with actresses like them, they are so talented, so natural, their work seems effortless !!!
Nice conversation to listen to,some of these have felt quite uncomfortable to watch but these two seem able to just sit and listen to each other and be genuinely interested.
It seems that a century of grace and elegance being condensed between the two that the air stops moving and we stop breathing.....
🎉🎉 2 of my favorite Actress classy incredible woman 😊
What a dream to have these two together
Happy 65th Birthday Isabella Rossellini
Even now lwould watch any films or any work where they act. They are facinating ladies, l love them so much!!!!!!
I am fascinated with Charlotte Rampling ever since I watched Addio fratello crudele in Mexico City, many, many years ago. She has never disappointed me. She is always believable and true in her films. Thank you, madam.
I really enjoyed that discussion There seems to be a lot more to acting than I thought You all have my admiration for what you do ❤
Very classy, nothing to add.
Too bad there aren't more of these with seasoned acting veterans. Some of the people on these I've never even heard of.
I would have loved to be friends with these two amazing women!
Two of my favorite lady actors.
Isabella is so humble, funny, and Hermosa. Love and admire her.
Two of my favorite role models. ❤️❤️
Love both of these amazing women.

Love both actresses … Isabella is wonderfull and sweet
Love them both!
Her eyes!... Isabella R
Just saw 'Joy' - Isabella steals the film IMO
+Chris Rogers Not really, it's Jennifer Lawrence's movie, but she was very good...Some people complained about her over the top acting but I think it's the director that wanted it to be that way.
+Thomas 94 No, I agree with Chris Rogers. Isabella was the best part of the film.
Life15Juicy I disagree, but Isabella. Cooper, De Niro, Ramirez, the cast in general they were all very good.
This is a dream! What a match!
I find it very hard to believe miss rampling didn't model much. The woman is a stunner
Fine wine in the room
ÉLÉGANCE, CLASS, SUPREMACY
this should have been 4 hours longer.
I did not recognize Rossellini ! I'm trapped in blue velvet
legend
Charlotte is a brilliant actress...Rossellini is the daughter of one.

much luv!
Beautiful sharing of these two unique women and their natural selves.......a chat between sistars.............
:50 Charlotte, what are you doing there?
La rossellini nettamente più bella. Stupenda
Vivien Leigh as interviewed by Ingrid Bergman at a different time
Charlotte rampling can be the sister of the old queen of spain
I thought the same thing ❤
The real look ...
Klasa , przypomina mi Jeanne Moreau
Rosselinis accent is fascinating, sounds so swedish but apparently she doesnt know any.
Great conversation.

wonder how charolette feels about doing that last season of dexter.....idk what happened there...the writers gave up ??
Wonderful actors. I only wish Ms Rampling didn't pick her nails while Isabella spoke -- came across a little disrespectful. I'm sure she didn't mean it to.
chill
+Ali Akbar all chilled. hows your chilling?
+Εκκολαπτόμενος Πεοστίφτης I've obviously offended some Rampling fans. My apologies. Nails firmly out of anus.
Not a fan of hers at all lol ( www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jan/22/charlotte-rampling-finds-herself-outnumbered-in-oscars-diversity-row )

+morkygorky SethRogen is amazing? 'The Interview' is perhaps the worst script ever written.
Looks like Sofia Queen of Spain
Goguita Sng. I'd never volunteer that opinion to the woman herself; it's not a good thing.
why its not a good thing if she looks like Sofia of Spain?
Goguita Sng She (Sophia) is no great beauty, to put it mildly. Rampling was strikingly beautiful in her day.
I love the wrinkles on the neck, they say fuck off!
it musnt be actors, THEY ARE ACTRESS

I agree with Eric
I agree 100%
eric russell You give her too much credit. She pretends for a living.
I wouldn't say she's not very good, I think she's quite alright. But I can't say she's been able to leave a mentionable impression on me, either. As far as I'm concerned, she's somewhere in between that.

+morkygorky So true tho:))))))))))))))
This is called age-shaming and you should stop it.
+SuperSmile2004 Fuck off, you're an idiot.
+SuperSmile2004 jeez, people get actually nasty on here.
This is unfortunately so sad to see, however you try to spin it
Why is this sad to see?
besides being ingrid bergman's daughter, what has isabella achieved in film?
+roter13 nigga, is you serious?
+roter13 Blue Velvet, absolutely haunting and beautifully disturbing performance. She was also one of the highest paid models of the 1980s.
+roter13 Blue Velvet is hailed as David Lynch's Magnum opus. Isabella deserves much of the credit for that.
+roter13 Fuck me, what a stupid question.
She ruled the cosmetic industry like nobody ever did . Writer a film maker above all a lovely human being who has won the hearts of millions with her being human and natural.
Isabella should abandon this tipe of hair...It looks childish for her age
