I watched everything you did real time (no matter how early in the morning), and I remember all of the moments. I remember the trials, and I remember being so sad that you weren't on the group team, but so excited that you weren't an alternate again, and that you were going to be an Olympian. I remember watching the all around and being so proud of everything you did. I remember crying when you didn't make the vault finals, but being so proud of you for getting there in the first place. The anticipation when Simone was stepping down from things, and knowing that it was awful for her, but also knowing that you might get to be in the finals. So incredibly bittersweet. I screamed when it was announced, seeing you on that roster of girls, and knowing you had a good chance to medal. Watching the finals was amazing, the suspense was crazy watching everyone go after you and seeing their scores pop up. When it got to the end and you were in second, I screamed and cried so hard for you! I was so happy, and my whole family knew it (I had been cheering for you all season). I'm so proud of you, MyKayla, and your story is one for the books. I hope your life post-Olympics continues to be fruitful and happy and amazing. You deserve it 💕

I remember waking up at four in the morning at my grandmas house and hiding under a blanket because I was sharing a room with my little sister and didn’t want to wake her up. As I was watching I was texting my other grandma who has woke up as well! Another memory I have of watching Mykayla is on the way down to the beach while Olympic Trials were happening and watching her compete in the restaurant we had stopped to get food at!

Every time I watch one of your videos it is so evident that gymnastics wasn’t just a dream for you but rather a calling. It was fate that brought you to the spirt and you let it guide and shape you into the superior gymnast that you’ve become. Your story is particularly unique and is one that will stay with many people and will be a source of motivation and inspiration for a long, long time. I know that writing a book is somewhat cliche these days as everyone seems to put one out but your story is worth writing and reading. Congratulations gurl, YOU DID IT!!

I'm so happy for your MyKayla that i cried watching this video too. I have to tell you a story. During prelims i was watching you compete and asked the universe how your Olympics would play out and i got a vision of you jumping up and down in a hotel room holding a silver medal. When i saw you crying after vault in prelims knowing that you didn't make the finals, i knew the Olympics were not over for you. You were going to get a silver medal and it seems certain to me without knowing how this would happen. When you were standing at the of the runway in vault finals ready for your first vault i knew this was it for you, you were going to take the silver medal. I've held off writing this story in the comments for months cause i'm lazy, but finally had to tell you. So happy for you and congratulations.

This was an UNFORGETTABLE Olympic moment ... for so many reasons. I totally cried too! I was at home thinking, "Why am I crying??!" But I totally did. Really inspiring to see your journey since 2016 and all that you did in between and getting the Silver in 2021. Watching Simone be so happy for you too - and what her journey meant for others - and how she was genuinely so happy for you - it felt like a bigger plan was happening for a higher purpose.

MyKayla this moment was so exciting for all of us to watch. I kept saying “I hope she didn’t go home.” When Simone pulled out of team finals. I felt you would get that chance to do vault. I didn’t wake up to watch, but I said I wouldn’t look to see how you and Jade did before watching it. But I failed miserably. My heart broke into a billion pieces for Jade but I was so excited for you. Heck, I was excited for Rebecca getting a medal too. So many emotions in the finals for vault. Be proud of how your career ended. You made the Olympic team and you are an OLYMPIC MEDALIST!!! Thank you for sharing your journey.

I love how you say your vaults were "pretty good". You're so humble! You are an Olympic silver medallist! "Pretty good" is the under statement of the year! You rock girl!

I was scrolling through You-tube, one day , bored. I happend to come across your channel. Now first I have yo tell I you that i have been a fan of gymnastics and the olympics since i was 5 years old. I evern remeber watching Mary Lue Rettin in the '84 olympics. Yeah way back then, anyways i came across your channel right as you werre going through explaining who you were and why you were doing the channel. I subscribed after that episode and have followed you all the way since. Seeing your practices then your meets uo to olympic trials was true admiration for you, Mykala. I once was told I
I was a role model for the next generation from a different sort but when I watched you and seen you go through what you went through and made it through to the Olympics trials, I was proud of you. When they didnt put you on the team, i was upset because of how they didnt follow the proper scoring way. But you still made it and i was even more proud. I then was working and on the front page i seen your big smile and holding up your silver medal and i thought " TRULY WELL DESERVED!!" Your story will be shared by many people on the same journey. Its an amazing story for the Olympics to share as well. Your story and your achievements makes that silver a gold no matter how anyone wants to look at it. And you will always be refered to as an Olympic medal champion. So proud of you Mykala. job well done. Gives me butterflys and makes me teary eyes to watch the playbacks with you. You are one of Americas finest athletes and sports heros Thank you for letting me go on the journey with you. You will always be in my heart especially during the OLYMPICS TELL JONUS GOOD JOB ON THE EDITING.v

What would have made this even more special is if the arena were jam packed with people shouting and cheering!
Well done to you, MyKayla, for ending a successful career with an Olympic medal. Yours. Forever. Because of a life of sacrifice, commitment, endurance, dedication, passion, pain, bravery, belief, and giving up on pigging out on pizza! You deserve this. Your family deserves this. Jonas deserves this. Y’all are awesome!
