Honestly. When I first found out about crouch throws I loved the idea that I could do it, but my problem was that I didn't know when to do it. The only time I ever used crouch throws was with that snake edge mix up. Asides from the situations you mentioned in this video, I think I managed to come up with a few more. I think crouch throws can be used in conjunction with moves that forces crouch such as down 2 and down 1 (bunker buster elbow). For the down 2, since it forces crouch it can be a good mixup since instead of going for an instant sidestep into another down 2 or another mix up, do a crouch throw if you think they will block the down 2. As for down 1, it is slightly better. Down 1 is +8 on hit and +1 on block and it forces crouch, that is where the crouch throw can come in especially if you hit it. Now another way it can be used is simply as a mix up tool. You know how when you hit them with something like running 2 or back 1+2 which is +6 and then you go for your low like D2. Well, if you think they are going to block the D2, just do crouch throw. Those are just a few situation I came up with, and they are theoretical. I'm not sure if they could work most of the time especially given how the opponent is not always going to respect your pressure. But I still like to think that they could work.
The problem is mids like b+1+2 are always better in these situations. There is a reason no good drag uses the crouch throws. I would like them to be better and viable as a solid option. Maybe improve their oki and increase thr damage.
The problem with d/b+3 cancel is that it is always the same crouch throw, so you can either break it, crush it or just stand there. The way you're sposed to use crouch throws is to condition your opponent into thinking you're gonna do a low by spamming lows at different timings. TBH d/b+3 cancel is great because it's re-actable by your opponent and they will most likely duck. But I wouldn't use this too much otherwise it losses it's value, then again it also stops them from ducking every now and then. Good to see more Dragunov love cool video man.
@@ThoughtsOfHimself F+4 is a high, unless you're referring to uf+4. His mids are average at best, aside from the hitbox on WS+2. Drag's biggest issue is his tracking and the hitboxes on his mids.
Hello! Big fan of this channel and these videos have helped me a lot when I'm creating new setups and combos. I started to play in Tekken 3 and started again in Tekken 7. My character is Eddy Gordo and I noticed that Eddy has crouch throw too! I'm having trouble to use that. Can you make same style video about the oki (I think that's what it's called in Tekken) after doing crouch throw? Same style as in this video. Eddy ws13 is high which means it does not punish move like Dragunov d+2 and only punisher is ws+4. ws+2 is i15 and crouch throw is i13 (armor king and king has i12 versions). Both of Eddy's crouch throws also breaks the floor which gives combo! crouch throw, FB!, uf+3+4, ff, b143). Thanks in forehand!

Don't do crouch throws at +6 please.
If the opponents stands there your going to whiff right in front of them.

"We have adequate mids---"
Only on the weekends.
F+3 is a good mid. So is F+4, DF+1, WS+2 and FF+1.

Nice! I might look at Eddy in the future
Just so everyone knows these are now unbreakable in Tekken 8 when in heat mode. So you really want to be using these A LOT in heat mode.
I think crouch throw are unbreakable even without heat
@ThoughtsOfHimself nah I've had people break them for me. I am not sure if it's a bug or what but people have broken them often.
