Love that you made them react to this! I feel like ASAP gets overlooked a lot, if not totally dismissed by people for being "boring," when there's so much interesting stuff in it going on. It's still not my favorite NewJeans song by any stretch, but I think it's totally consistent with their style and especially with the EP Get Up. As the closing track it's such a unique culmination of all the sonic ideas on the album.
I love this song and MV so much, one of my favorite kpop MVs of all time. I think that because the song isn't your typical maximalist kpop production a lot of kpop fans tend to dislike it, but I love how different it is. Also because I LOVE dreampop, and so I love the dreamy, soft, and spacy soundscape of it! So I love that you guys reacted to it! I'd love to see yout thoughts on Cool With You, as well.
What the gentleman said at 5:09 is so on point. Kpop follows trends so you get a lot of similar sounding songs at the same time. It is really hard to put a finger on what makes one better than another especially when they hit the same boxes, but there is always a winner. New Jeans seems to hit more than some, but they also don't have a ton of releases. They have a great team. Quality > quantity. I do wish ASAP was longer but i think that adds to its charm. It's the outro of the album and it is totally a quick, sweet goodbye. Like a loved friend you see all the time and are gonna see again soon. Not a longing goodbye. It fits where it sits in the album and discography.
people always say that the girls always being the ones that redefine what it is to be kpop, and forgot that it is actually a collaborative effort between the producers, songwriters, mixing and mastering engineer, the artists themselves, and much more people behind the scenes. give a shout out and send your thanks to those people too friends! they deserve more recognition and love than what they actually get now
It might not be their best song compared to their other releases but it's completely different and unique to what we're used to in K-Pop and the whole concept of mixing fairies, bunnies & scary elements are just too good. Their visuals are no joke and they sound so soft and eerie! Glad to be part of the Bunnies fandom and I just can't wait to see what's next! 💗🐰🐇

Since we rushed to film reactions to WWY before our holiday film hiatus, and I did not have time to put in the proper research for XG and their history with working with black producers beforehand. Since he did not have this knowledge, when Henry saw the black inspired hairstyle (slicked down baby hairs) and the way the lyrics were phrased during a rap section, he commented on these parts saying they were cultural appropriation. After reading many different requests and suggestions from the commenters on the reaction, we are planning to film more XG content with our vocalists and dancers react teams to release reactions that focuses on XG's talents alone and plan a separate video featuring black fans & producers that focuses on the broader topic of appropriation vs appreciation in k-pop.

Amazing analysis! I love this song and how it was such a light and fresh listen. Was wondering if you guys can do a vid on ETA? I like the contrast between ASAP, which is more laidback, and ETA, which makes the listener feel some sense of urgency. Also, I think there's more storytelling in ETA and presents a different narrative in each section, which could be a good point you guys can touch on.
