    Thanks for letting me poke around your work in the hangar and pester you guys with questions about your planes and your low/slow type of flying while we were weathered in with you guys at Yankton. You all truly showed how nice the pilot community is, no matter what you fly. Thanks for the videos.

    I'm at the HOPE hacker conf this weekend in my home town NYC. It's one of the largest gatherings of radical computer geeks in the world. The event is all about demystifying computing hardware and software and showing the uninitiated how things really work. But for me the event is really about seeing old, making new friends and teaching each other the tricks of the trade that improve the experience and yes, make the world a better place. Yourself and others in your community are really the same just doing it with airplanes. Y'all on a similar trajectory and motivated by the same goals. Keep on keeping on and I'll keep clicking on. It's all good. Cheers.

We know it's alot of work to do these while you travel but seeing you and your friends going through it together among many of your other videos have showed me that getting into aviation could be a reality and doesn't take hundreds of thousands of dollars to get into. David InAfrica Which country? I have always wondered what General Aviation is like in Eastern Africa and the availability of fuel at airports

    • @davidinafrica8898
      @davidinafrica8898 6 лет назад

      Hassan Deer - I move around all of Eastern Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia. Fuel availability varies as does pricing. Most rely on fuel from either Wilson airport in Nairobi and Entebbe in Uganda if you have the range. Hope that helps

    • @598133
      @598133 6 лет назад

      David InAfrica ah I see. I am originally from Somalia but grew up here in the US. It has always been my dream to get General Aviation going in Somalia. I have not assesed the situation yet but most airports havent been attended to since the 1990s.

    • @davidinafrica8898
      @davidinafrica8898 6 лет назад

      Hassan Deer - General Aviation is growing in Somalia. Major improvements have been made to the airports in Mogadishu, Bosasso, and Hargiesa. Unfortunately, there is still a major need for ground handling and maintenance. A lot has changed in the country over the past 10 years.

    Great getting the full explanation on reducing the weight for competition. One warning though. Replacing your stainless firewall with aluminium basically is dangerous. SS will give you a slight chance in hell when you get an engine fire, or a hole in your exhaust system (like that ever happens..). Aluminium will not keep any fire out. Trading that safety for a few ounces may not be a good decision. Even a very thin SS firewall is more effective than any aluminium 'firewall'.
