These are the type of subscribers you need to fish with more often, they were engaged into the video the whole time and explaining how everything works with that type of fishing in detail, great video Mike!
Oh, they also didn't reject you on any fist bumps 😂
+Sir Bamboozle 👊😎
Those things are just raw muscle. They fight like crazy. Also those guys really seem to know what they were doing. You were fishing with the right people
+PCM24 97 very fortunate to have a chance to fish with these dudes no doubt!
They know quite a bit but nothing compared to the old guys at the river, they know
They're right, it takes at least a year for a new steelhead fisherman to catch a steelhead. It took me one year and you caught 2 in your first steelhead trip. Good job.
It's taking me 2 years if I don't catch steelhead this year make it 3
Nice, these dudes need their own channel!
Shouldn't you be paying attention to the video...
Well then, before you scroll up,
Make sure you have the best day of your life,
Every day of your life
Go and make the world a better place and have a great day stranger(friend;D)
Michael Wolf awesome
Michael Wolf Love you man! thanks :) you rock socks!
Michael Wolf I love you
Michael Wolf thx u 2
it was an ad
This is honestly probably one of my favorites videos of yours brother
+matthew krosp thx for the positive feedback 😎
people leave this kid alone! he's catching fish, having fun, and filming. all very healthy. I'm from Oregon too where we fish for monsters but fishing is fishing! nice job man. try a synthetic bait calls roe beads! they work great
Best fishing video I have ever seen and I have watched hundreds. What a treat for you to have crossed paths with those guys through your channel and in life. They are REEL. :) KUDOS!
Next time you're in Cleveland, let me know!
Chasing trout on light action rods is just incredible. Great video Mike
either way, one of the best videos you have ever filmed by far, this kind of fishing is my all time favourite by far
Yooooo, I met these boys from Ohio on the Oswego River!
Awesome video Mike, I was getting tired of bass fishing hahaha, very informative video too. Cheers!
my steelhead rod is 14 foot hand made by my father. in oregon the steelhead are amazing! glad to see you branching out into real fishing.
I do agree with you there. I fish for anything even tiny bluegill. It's just winter steelhead fishing is extreme and its very technical most of the time. Coastal steelhead fishing in oregon is a bitter cold frustrating experience that I've been doing for 24 years. Steelhead are very sensitive fish and are quite hard to catch and perfect.
I agree. What he really needs to do is catch some sturgeon!
I fish the nustaca river a nail em on jig with a bait casters or spinng rod I take both so if I get a bird nest
this is amazing i've been fishing cleveland steelhead for years now it's my favorite type of fishing love the video!!!
congrats on your first and many steelhead!! please keep more of these videos coming. the great lakes have tons of tributaries to fish for these.
5:04 SUCESSED FISTBUMP !
Great trout action! I really like this realistic stuff.
+sasquatch & fishing !
I'm sorry. Do you have a question?
The stuff anyone can do... I like that he is out fishing with a couple small town guys, fishing trout like the locals do. Its way better than the fishing with a gummy worm while hanging out of a car window eating hot sauce challenge.
I agreed with you on the realistic stuff.. I fish in the sacramento delta and sacramento river.. I bait fish for stripper bass and sturgeon like all the local do here.. regular bank fishing it the realistic as it gets... don't get me wrong I have a boat also lol
Fuck you
9:26 a fistbump that 1rod1reel didn't get rejected. Congratulations!
Very interesting to see local fishing techniques that people develop. Great video!
come here to ontario in late september snd youll catch some monster chinook salmon. My pb is 42 pounds
Awesome video Mike. Always enjoy them. If you are ever around Southwest VA, we have some killer fishing here. Creeks, Rivers, Ponds, Lakes, Mountain Top lakes you name it. And all are in short distance of each other. I'm currently working on a video of three different types of water (River, Pond, Creek) w/ three species of fish in three hours. Really a diverse area here. Good luck and tight lines.
+Virginia Highlands Outdoors that's gonna be an awesome vid! And thx for the invite, if I'm ever around I'd love to check out that area!
Fish the Kern river in California for great trout, use salmon eggs and rubber core weights, also 2 or 3 foot liter
Virginia Highlands Outdoors
Yea i love fishing for these fish... they put up a great fight! I live next to a river and dam and during season u catch steelhead that are atleast 32" or more!
However ive only caught them with spiners and bobber/drift fishing eggs or beads.
Bro that's amazing, I love these videos. Keep them up man. You're awesome.
Come to Michigan to steelhead fish, the steelhead are much larger and are stacked in the rivers.
SpicyGaming I live right across the birder lol I live in forest Ontario 30 mins away
SpicyGaming where are they right now?
we went to allegan, mi for steelhead. the REEL fun is up north on the Au Sabel river during the salmon run...we're talkin 20 min fights, maybe even 45 if it's healthy
SpicyGaming the mitten is an anglers oasis
SpicyGaming
You in GR homie?
those are some small steelhead in Washington the average is like 8 pounds
PNW Bassing yup. My first last year was 15 pounds. Wild and released!
Brandon Reichert yeah my biggest is 14pounds on a nightmare jig was a native so I let if go
PNW Bassing we use a jig with caribou hair tipped with shrimp. I had amazing luck last year. I'm over on the east side though so not as running heavy as you get them on that side
In Washington we also don't lie or mind telling the simple egg cure process of ProCure and Borax lol. Also would never waste my eggs on a Steelhead, when I can take some ProCure to some Shrimp, dye them red, green, pink, catch more Steelhead on those and keep my Salmon eggs for Salmon season. Sadly Living on the Columbia River up in Chelan County, No Steelhead season this year :( biggest steelhead was a 16 pound wild at the Mouth of the Methow River, which flows into the Columbia.
ImPacosTacos seriously Thoe there is no secret recipe to cure eggs, salmon and steelhead eat almost every type of egg cure out there.
One of the reasons I love fishing so much is that there are so many ways to do it. Different techniques, and species. Its almost like these little communities within the fishing community lol.
I fished on and off for years throughout my childhood/teens. But it wasn't until I stopped just catching whatever to actually targeting a specific species that I really latched onto fishing as my real hobby.
hey man always watch these videos been fishing for a long time and u showed me a few things I didn't know just went fishing this Moring and cough a 5 pounder out my river thanks man keep making videos !
I mean this is the most respectful way possible, your a noob😂 keep up the good work
+Just kids fishing xD
1Rod1ReelFishing Can you tell me what reel you used in this video
I say good for him! I want to do this but I'm a nervous 'cause there's a lot of hate if you mess up with this type of fishing...
The fish of a thousand casts
Mark Westergren even though thats a fly fishing term, its a good and true one lol
alTreezy! アル トリージー!! Your right
sasquatch & fishing never tried Muskie fishing yet, sure looks fun though
That's crazy. It took me 4 solid years of steelhead fishing to land my first steelhead, and you landed your first steelhead within the first 10 minutes of fishin. Legendary. You need to go fishing with more subscribers like them.
What a great adventure!! Thanks for posting the video.
OMG HE IS IN OHIO!!!
Your in Ohio?
Brandon Hickory yup
Hunter Hawkins 23, btw let's go buckeyes onto the national championship
cooper fishin oh yeah that's right! That was a good win against Michigan
Hunter Hawkins 23, double OT, crazy game
Why did 1rod have the camera on when he was about to pee?
Dean Scholten probably recording random stuff for his other channel
Dean Scholten he picked it up when he heard the fish
Please check out my channel
Ben Bockey He has another channel?
I want everyone to know this really isn't something to expect fishing steel this was a great day man
Awesome video Mike. Always nice to try out something new. 🐟🐟🐟
22:20 mike how dare you talk to a female like that. That's horrible
Hahaha
with all due respect you really need to learn how to fight fish probably. Don't keep real and while the drag is going out you're going to get a lot of line twist and possibly lose fish also don't wait forever to set the hook you are going to gut hook a lot of fish and kill fish that you would release. but not being a Debbie Downer congratulations on your first steelhead
+Joseph Leandre I appreciate the constructive criticism. You are right I'm not familiar with super light line + spinning gear + big fish I'll be working on my fighting technique for next time! Fortunately I didn't gut hook any fish, I usually waited 2-3 seconds before setting the hook which worked out okay 👍
Joseph Leandre
I’ve never been fishing before. Looks interesting.
The most relaxing and at the same time exciting hobby you can have I recommend it i saltwater fish but it’s fishing nonetheless no matter where you are it just takes practice time and dedication if you wanna get good at it
scotty187 pro learner Thank you. Good to know👍🏾 Gotta try it some time.
amazing, I remember when the rivers flowing through Cleveland would catch fire from the hazardous pollution.
This spot is in my neighborhood and is on private property. Regardless of your guides permission to access certain areas south of the park I would request that you turn off the comments for this vid. The pressure on that creek is way to high to have commenters blasting the location.
JUST A LITTLE FYI, THE PROPERTY YOUR FISHING ON IS PRIVATE PROPERTY, THANKS FOR THE VIDEO IT WILL BE TURN OVER TO THE GAME WARDEN
MRNOBODY023 sounds like I need to be vigilant checking during the day to make sure these douches stay off our property
MRNOBODY023 Make certain that you ask the game warden to block off your privately owned creek to ensure that our public fish do not swim up your private creek.
Donald Miller in Ohio the landowner owns the creekbed. You can't wade through a body of water that runs over their land without the permission of the landowner. You can float in a kayak or boat over private property because they do not own the water but the second your foot touches the streambed you are trespassing. That is the law
"Wow it almost looks like a big rainbow!" lel
Awesome man! Steelhead are my 2nd favorite fish to catch (behind muskie)! I'm glad you finally had the opportunity to catch them. You are very lucky, those guys knew what they were doing! I'm still learning, I'm at that point where I kinda know what I'm doing, I can catch them, but not like those guys you were with or Bill and Mike on RUclips (who fish my area).
Great video and once again the subs hooked you up with some awesome steelhead.
great video, keep them coming. fishing is great even if your not gettin them in the bucket.
Welcome to my hometown!! Enjoy those winter steeles!
congrats 1rod on your first steelhead keep up the great vids
that was a superb days sport. those guys really know their fishing.. i would kill for fishing like that.. amazing vid. Man those fish were beauties, real quality.
They are truly experts in their craft!
can't wait for the rocky river video i practically live on that river during the fall spring and winter going out in the morning!!!
+Ryan Magalski gonna try to get it edited and up tomo evening!
I would love to come trout fishing with these guys I've only caught a 20 Chinook Salmon and a 30 pounder same and a 3 pound Coho Salmon and a 4 pound Brown Trout on Lake Michagan for my birthday present best b-day ever! thank you grandma!!!😄😄😄
This is a great video!!!’ Something different! A good learning process on new fishing

Finesse Anglers
awesome video Mike! makes me miss the great lakes.
By far one of your best videos yet! Those guys should start a channels because I would watch them!:)
Cleveland, City of Champions! Glad to see you got into some Erie chrome, my GF and I are headed out tomorrow. I hope we have as much luck as you had. Two weeks ago I caught my PB, 32" on a Rat-L-Trap. I know people swear by minnows, eggs, or jig&maggot, but I catch my best steelies on jerkbaits or lipless cranks.
Some really cool informative subs. Would love you to keep in touch with them and make more videos with them in the future.
Keep up the great vids!👍🏼
Nice to see some younger guys who really get it. Way to put him on the fish guys. Thanks for CNR and proper fish handling. Those of us that fish this area appreciate it. Might want to mention to him not to reel when the drag is going out though. ;) Nice video. I love small stream steelie action.
you're so humble. "you know what that means right....?.....(expecting "I'm a pro") ... that means you know what's up."
Great video keep up the good work loving it
wow steelhead fishing looks amazing! I'm going to have to take up trout fishing...now I'm going to need a new credit card >. < thanks Mike....
I love trout fishing!! took me three years to catch one here in Ireland cause I had no one to show me lol
only got more serious bout it this year! but the season closed at the end of September, opens in January and I'll have my first pair of waders for it, and I'm starting to fly fish in January. can't wait, good video!
+Rory Atkinson thx for watching, good luck in January 🎣
dude come back in spring and you'll be amazed the spring run is Awesome I do a lot of fly fishing in the spring for steelhead and it's a blast do another vid man
those are some intelligent anglers you have found yourself, they know what they are doing wish i had a few friends that way
I have been subbed to you since you had 50k subs and the vids just keep getting better and better.
+Baseball Card Boy thx for being a loyal sub! :D
Caught my first steelhead in Michigan, 3 total on the trip, the biggest had three hooks in him. One fly, two other bare hooks. Awesome fish to catch!
Can't wait to see the big river suff, will stay posted for next video with fingers crossed. Living in Colorado I fish like that a lot. I am lucky enough to live at the base of the mountains so I do have a few Sumer time bass holes
Majority of my fish aren't that big... but they are here! I've caught a few of them
Welcome to the wonderful world of Steelhead, you will love it!!! Also, there are some great Steelhead out of lake Ontario. 10lbs+
awesome to see you get into some steelhea
Great fishing story one time I hooked a fish by its but at the lake 😂!
Awesome vid more of these please!
Favorite video so far! Keep it up
good job man anyone can go just about anywhere and catch a bass or catfish.... but to catch a steelie is a real treat
Steelhead taste so good u should catch one and try it. I love your videos and u inspired me to fish more but unfortunately it is hard to catch big bass in Ohio but I really like your videos and Jon videos but your more. I really hope I can see you in the future and good luck finding fish
Awesome video. I'd love to go fishing with these guys.
Great video man. This just looked fun as hell.
I wanna see the rest of this day videos haha...big river big fish
Awesome video Mike 👍 Enjoyed it
You should make more steelhead videos! Keep up the great work
glad to see you in my hometown.
when the bass fisher man tries to reel in the line like bass but ends up with line twist. salmon/steelhead is crazy you actually play the fish not just reel with full drag. nah but its a learning experience. still funny to watch.
these guys were great! keep in touch with them!
looks like you guys had fun. chagrin was on fire yesterday. lots of fish.
These guys seemed really cool! Nice video!
This guys should have their own channel. Great vid Mike!
All of that beautiful freight behind you in the beginning!
Love this vid. I live near Lake Erie. Keep up the good work
