SandyMac It's amazing how intense she can get! I was at the Nashville and Memphis shows and while the GDW's there were fantastic, this performance is next level. She's truly been stellar this tour!
It was like she got a second wind of cosmic energy or something. Like an energy wave that just rocked her. It was like she was feeding off the energy from the crowd or something. I was like, "Can this truly really be happening here?, OMG yes it is happening" That is what was going through my mind at that moment near the end of the song.
This performance alonr would have been worth the price of admittance! This is why this woman is still so relevant after 45 years on the music scene: she just gave an incredible ,interpretive vocal performance without all of the side show bullshit most singers rely on these days when singing live. Rock On 24 Karat Queen...the cubic chips that follow cant even fill your footsteps ,nor ever outshine your unique brilliance.
She absolutely SLAYED this version! I love the arrangement, especially in the beginning with the strings. She sounded even stronger on the second leg of the tour. My favorite version on this tour. Thanks for recording it Sandy:)

Howie is fantastic as usual on guitar! He and Stevie have been doing this song for over 30 something years! He is probably the best backing musician of all time and has performed with Ronstadt and all of the greats over the years and his support is always phenomenal! You should check him out in Stevie's Belladonna tour and television performances!

Actually, it was a Canon camera but I was right in front of the drums and I felt the vibration in my chest from the drums, so when you are that close, the vibrations take over the microphone in this instance. But none the less, she did rock out that evening. Typically, you get best audio when you are about at least 12 rows back. I was in the second row.
