As always Nick, another informative and entertaining video. You are correct, Burgau is a bit off the main road and most folks I've talked with just breeze right down the N125 past the turnoff. Their loss. It's a charming, somewhat sleepy little town with an absolutely stunning beachfront, great food and drink (favs: "Miam Burgau", great muscles and "Esquina", try the Prawns Piri Piri), and wonderfully inviting residents. One of the many, many wonderful locations in Portugal's beautiful Algarve👍
Great video! My parents moved to Burgau 17 years and ABSOLUTELY love it! We visit every year and are always sad to leave... My favourite place to escape ❤
So glad you highlighted this lovely village. We stayed there in April and loved our stay. Great restaurants which leave you spoiled for choice. We walked to Salema one day and beyond Luz another. Hope it does not get overdeveloped.❤
Thanks Nick ☺ I truly enjoyed that & wasn't aware of this gorgeous village until you brought it to my attention! It was such a simple guide getting straight to the point & this I feel is perfect for most people. The village will definitely be on my hitlist for my next Algarve visit & it's all down to you sir, so thank you again! Have an amazing week my friend 🤗
Awesome again Nick. We are very glad you went back to spend a little more time with Burgau after we saw it one your trekking series. The steak pizza seems a must for any carnivore. 👌
i think you missed Bombordo, just across the road from the church, they do modern Portuguese food. Nova beach club is up the hill towards Salema, but still in the village. They have various events and you can pay to use their pool. Further out you can pay to use the pool at Burgau Sports centre, you can see it at the back of shot at 5.26. They have a gym, Padel and ordinary tennis courts.
Thank you for not referring to our town using the Santorini moniker...this label is slowly consuming the village and attracting the wrong type of tourism
Hi Nick I have eanted to see this town. I believe there is a Waldorf school located here. It looks small. I have so many questions, The population? Does it have a hospital? Markets, Mercado? A large Expat community? Or is it seasonal or have many full-time residents??
No, it's really small about 500 people, no hospitals, not really a market, but it does have a large expat community in the surrounding area. I thought you had found a place?

Real and authentic...just like you! Thanks, Nick. ~ M
Awww, thanks!
You need to try Tasca No. 9 near the water when you come back. Fantastic and different for 10+years!
Restaurant, Love Burgau, the food and cocktails are amazing, bonus for me, my daughter Scarlet works there.. if you visit say hello ❤
I think she may have served me, super lovely people there.

It certainly was! Thanks Peter.
😍😍😍 looks beautiful!
Been there 2 months ago for 1 week, it is a nice place to stay !
Aaah, what I'd give for one week in Burgau!
It’s worth going there for the steak pizza, it looks! Small, but I appreciate all the hang out spots.
Absolutely packed to the gills in summer
Thank you 🌸

Hi Nick

Not even a pharmacy
😀
The beach Bar closes about 6pm 👍
Wow, early closing! No sundowners over there then... 😊
Portuguese village occupied by retired pink shorts english people who drinks beer all day
What's not to love!!! 😂😂😂
Of course now it will be ruined in a few years. Always keep great secrets.....secret.
