Hi James! 30:05 - The reason Vinny could sleep in prison during a riot, is because THAT is the type of noise he was used to sleeping with. Being from New York, it was the "sounds of the country life" that bothered him the most. He wasn't used to those kinds of sounds. While the prison riot was "just like home" to him. 31:23 - Heh. The judge overruled the objection, because it was obvious that Vinny knew something was coming, because of the "well thought out" objection. Hilarious, isn't it? One of his "Car 54" costars, Al Lewis joined the "Munsters" cast as vampire Grandpa Munster. Best reaction to this movie so far and I've seen a few of them. Marisa is hilarious in this role and accurately portrays your typical Italian woman from New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut at that time. One of the funniest things about this movie is her going on about her biological clock yet in real life Marisa is actually against marriage
Marisa Tomei (toe-MAY) won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Mona Lisa Vito. There were rumors that it was a mistake, that the award was supposed to have gone to someone else. As we now know, when they accidentally give the award to the wrong party, they correct it immediately (this happened in 2017 when they accidentally gave the Best Picture award to La La Land instead of Moonlight). Tomei really was great in My Cousin Vinny, and it was one of the few times a major award went to a comedic performance. Most actors will tell you that comedy is harder than drama, but it rarely gets recognition in the big award categories. Tomei has turned in other really good performances in The Perez Family, In the Bedroom, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, The Wrestler, The Lincoln Lawyer, and The Big Short. She was also Peter Parker's Aunt May in several Marvel movies.

I know Awesome Movies that you might not have had many channels growing up, but the Judge, Fred Gwynne. Was Herman Munster from the Munsters. Unfortunately he died about a year after this movie. Making it the last in theatre movie he made.
First year law students literally take a class called "criminal procedure" and another called "civil procedure." It's a requirement for the law school to be ABA-approved. A law school has to be ABA-approved for its students to be able to take the bar exam (exceptions made in Illinois and Virginia for people who do legal apprenticeships, rather than attend law school). And in most schools, this movie is shown in criminal procedure class! LOL

Marissa Toe-May. Very versatile actress and quite skilled in multiple accents, although Hollywood troped her and mainly had her do latino/New York accents.
When I first seen this back in '92, when they showed the tire mark picture earlier in the movie, I said to myself there is no way a '63 Skylark left those tracks.i just accepted it because most movies are not 100% accurate in respect to physics and science. After all they are just telling a story with props I'm a car guy by the way. So the ending was kind of spoiled for me, but I loved this movie anyway. Very entertaining.

Such a great movie
“Vinnie bag o’ donuts”is probably sone kind of family inside joke nickname thing
That's an old NY italian thing. I remember it since I was a kid.
funny nickname
The "you going huntin?" scene, the "my biological clock" scene, "eggs and grits", the 2nd witness with the pictures, trotter vetting Vito as an expert witness. This whole movie i love it, it was fun to watch with you
Thanks for watching
This film is always great for a laugh. I love the prison cell scene when Vinny first meets his cousin and his friend. The absolute misunderstanding between Vinny and the friend is so great and well written. I also love the whole city folk vs small town country folk story being told here, as well as the professional vs unprofessional conflict between Vinny and the judge. Finally, Marisa Tomei as Mona Lisa Vitto is just perfect.
I know Awesome Movies that you might not have had many channels growing up, but the Judge, Fred Gwynne. Was Herman Munster from the Munsters. Unfortunately he died about a year after this movie. Making it the last in theatre movie he made.
Sorry that was a bit before my time. I watched The Adams Family a few times.
"They WUH!" 🤣
Her accent is hilarious in this!
Marisa Toe-May won an Academy Award for her performance.
Very well deserved
Marissa (TOW-MAY) won an Oscar for her portrayal...as Best Supporting Actress. No wonder!!
Well Deserved
Great reaction. A shout out also to the late, great Fred Gwynne as the Judge. He is most remembered as Herman Munster from the 60s TV series.
I never watched the munsters, I think it was before my time. I have watched a couple of episodes of the adams family.
Great reaction! Her name is pronounced Toe may! Man she is fabulous!
Thanks for the clarification that helps.
LOL
That's so amazing. What a cool fact
Mah-rissa Toe-May she won an academy award for this role. Great movie, the judge Fred Gwynne was Herman Munster on the old sitcom The Munsters. Marisa is in the new Spiderman movies and has popped up all over.
I never watched the munsters, I think it was before my time. I have watched a couple of episodes of the adams family.
He noticed it right after she left he diner. When he realized, he knew she knew more about autos than him (HE worked at her dad's shop), so he brought her in to articulate his realization.
She was amazing on the stand
"How do you go pee in that?" LOL Ya' gotta' love a guy who actually considers these things. 🤣
My dad had a short list of movies he would watch over and over for years and we’d get so sick of them. This was the movie he did it with the most. He past away a few years ago unexpectedly and now this movie reminds me of him and I love it. It really is one of the great ones.
agreed, it's great
Picturing Mona Lisa all greased up in an auto body shop just unlocked something 🤦🏼♂️😂🤣
Funny
as far as i know, her name is pronounced "toe-may" ... kind of like the old crooner Mel Tormé... without the "r" :P
Thanks for that
The last scene in this movie in the car perfectly set it up for this to be a continuing tv series. I so wish they would have made a show about this.
I don't think I saw another one of your reactions where you laugh so much! Great reaction!
IDK, have you watched my comedy playlist?
One of my Favorite movies of all time…my Dad was a NewYorker! The judge was Herman Munster from “The Munsters” ✌🏻☀️
Marissa's well deserved Oscar winning performance. Love this movie.
Well deserved
I am glad you really laughed though. Great fun watching with you James
Thanks for watching
This is a film I very much enjoy, even though it makes me feel old realising that it was made 30 years ago! I do like your reactions as they do make me smile, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You feel OLD because a movie you like is a mere 30 years old? I'm a fan of "Alien" (1978) which is over 40 years old. I am semi-secure in being more than "three score old." Let's hear it for "The Wizard of Oz" (1939)!
James, this movie is very sentimental to me and most of my friends never know what I’m talking about. I have to say your reaction is how exactly most people should take this movie. I am so grateful you appreciate this film and hope that this video will help more people discover it. Thank you
She won an Oscar for this movie.
well deserved
Marisa Tomei actually win an academy award for her performance in this movie
awesome!
Always love your reactions, I was a bit surprised you didn't recognize the judge, he played Herman Munster. I grew up with only a few channels as well and The Munsters were a regular watch.
I never watched the munsters, I think it was before my time. I have watched a couple of episodes of the adams family.
@@AwesomeUSMovies Hmmm i thought you would have been in the time of the reruns. Anyway he was Herman HAHA
This is by far my favorite reaction from you, and I've loved them all. :)
Wow, thank you!
Marisa Tomei is GREAT! Also (I'm guessing here) Vinny "bag of doughnuts - Dozen - Cousin"...
Loved her
1970 I was in Los Angeles and see this judge get on a bus to go somewhere, probably to the studio😊
I LOVE HER!! She is such a great actress. You need to see her in 'Untamed Heart,' 'Only You,' & 'Wild Hogs.'
Added thanks
"Voir dire" is a legal term "to see/hear" - process of confirming jurors for trial.
Cool term
I watched this movie with my sister and her husband back in January when I was visiting them in Seattle. We watched this movie one night and I laughed my butt off. I'm glad you enjoyed this wonderful legal movie.
At some point you should watch To Kill A Mockingbird
Added to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
I'm so glad you are laughing so hard at this movie. It is hilarious and one of my favorites!
Thanks for watching
Glad to see you enjoyed a movie I love! The scene where Marissa Tomei describes the deer is comedy gold.
Agreed
Best line "If you can't win a case by yourself, you're fucking useless!"
love it
Marissa Toe-May. Very versatile actress and quite skilled in multiple accents, although Hollywood troped her and mainly had her do latino/New York accents.
It’s pronounced toe-may. She won the Oscar for this role . 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome, she deserved it
Awesome, she deserved it
When I first seen this back in '92, when they showed the tire mark picture earlier in the movie, I said to myself there is no way a '63 Skylark left those tracks.i just accepted it because most movies are not 100% accurate in respect to physics and science. After all they are just telling a story with props I'm a car guy by the way. So the ending was kind of spoiled for me, but I loved this movie anyway. Very entertaining.
good for you, I didn't get it that quick
Marisa Tomei [toe-may] is an actress of great range. I recommend two of her films: "Only You", a romantic comedy, and "Untamed Heart", a powerful drama. Both are great joys to watch.
Thanks for the clarification that helps.
Have 3 to 400 people mentioned yet that Herman Munster is the judge, her name is To-May, sleeping in jail easy because of noise in Brooklyn, or the dad from Son in Law is in this? I’d hate to repeat something that’s already been covered. 🙄
Yes, got those. Thanks for commenting
