Ever since I first saw that scene, I've been entirely convinced that toriyama only made gohan miss the catch because he had 0 fucking idea of what to call their fusion.
I think Gohan and Future Trunks would be the ultimate fusion. Gohan’s raw power, and Trunks’s “don’t play with your food” mentality. Gohan always refuses to overwhelm his enemies. He enjoys humiliating them and ends up getting sloppy. If Trunks ever has the upper hand and a window of opportunity, he immediately takes the kill shot with no questions asked. He’s the only saiyan that prioritizes actually eliminating the enemy

As cool as Vegito is, and his iconic voice, it feels as though we got cheated out of something better. It’s not like we wouldn’t have gotten Vegito eventually. Maybe it would have been difficult for Akira to draw their fusion. I love the concept art choices. I also wonder why they never added him to modern DBZ games, yet Broly gets SSJ3. My guess is back to, Akira and/or other artists who would design characters for the games would have no idea how to design the fusion (and they wouldn’t want to steal nor pay for the designs fans have come up with).
Kid Buu would still be a thing. Vegito could've easily killed Buu also, but they needed to rescue the people Buu absorbed. The scenario would likely turn out the same, except the final fight would've been over sooner if it was Goku and Gohan vs Kid Buu.

Not Gohan failed, Goku failed. That toss was horrendous. He was able to throw a fucking random frog perfectly to interpret Body Swap and yet he couldn't throw a simple earring to his son!
They need to change that to something about them having great synergy instead cause rival boost sounds stupid, how could some earing calculate that into the multiplier. And if rival boost is a thing then family boost and body capability should exist since they are father and son.
The power up by rivalry is a translation error, it does not exist, the old Kaioshin only said that the fusion of earrings was more convenient than the methamorp because it is faster to execute and that if 2 beings with a similar level of power are merged, the fusion of these will be more than the sum of the individuals. Thanks to the tournament of power we know that if the 2 individuals that are fused have very different powers, the fusion will have the same power level as the strongest individual of the 2 (therefore it is a waste to merge with someone very different from you in scale of power). Instead fusing with Vegeta would give a tremendous power boost since Goku and Vegeta had much more similar Ki than Goku and Gohan. Goku ssj3 was slightly stronger than fat Majin Buu, Super Buu is much stronger than the previous Buu and it took the fusion of 2 saiyans in ssj3 to face them (fusion much stronger than Goku ssj3) Now definitive Gohan was much stronger than Super Buu and therefore stronger than Gotenks and much stronger than Goku. So Gokhan would be just as strong as Gohan. We know this because Piccolo mentioned that Kefla was just as strong as Kale because of all the bible I said. so: Vegetto>Gokhan (and not because of a rivalry plus, that doesn't exist)
You don't always win just because you're stronger. Gohan proved that many times, his lack of experience and cockiness is his downfall. They would of lose to Cell if not for Goku teleporting cell away and motivated Gohan during the beam struggle. They would of lost to Buu if not for Goku coming back to life to fight Buuhan/Kid Buu. The fusion between Gohan and Goku might be slightly stronger but with Gohan's lack of experience & judgment, they still might of lost to Buu.
THANK YOU finally someone who doesnt get influenced by the masses. This idea is also what makes vegito, gogeta, and kefla perfect fusions. Goku and vegeta are both experienced, but also have opposite problems and hinderences in battle

I wonder if they train as a fusion, imagine the huge growth of power within a short amount of time because their flaws are no more. Whis once said that Goku and Vegeta never needed to train with Whis to get this strong, they could of gotten strong all on their own if those two trained together to start with.

Goku is sometimes off-guard (according to whis but I disagree) whilst vegeta is too airtight. Caulifia is a decent technique but is too hot-headed. Kale had no technique and was too timid at times and only gained power by losing her rationale.

The important difference between Gokhan and Vegito would be that Gohan had access to Ultimate which in turn would allow Gokhan to bring out the power of a SSJ3 with basically no stamina drain at all while in the fusion. And since it doesn’t drain more stamina it wouldn’t drain the fusion timer faster meaning he has a full half hour as a fused hybrid saiyan with the power multiplier beyond that of SSJ3(i might be wrong about the timer part i genuinely don’t remember if it was stamina loss or power output that drained the timer), he would shit on Vegito without breaking a sweat honestly.
@@Brandonious15987 it was said to be permanent but as we saw it was not, and later it was revealed through DBS that the reason it was not permanent is because potara fusions are only permanent when at least one side is of divine blood, if both are mortals then the fusion is too unstable to last and it will eventually defuse, and in the fight against Zamasu when yhey fused, they ended up defusing far quicker than when fighting Buu, which was then followed by an explanation from Shin that the fusion must have been drained quicker due to them being way stronger than when fused against buu, so im led to believe its power output now that im writing this all out which would weaken the Gokhan fusion a lot but still would be stronger than Vegito
That would be impossible since Potential Unleashed already stacks the power of your strongest transformation onto the form itself and adds it with all of the other potential you still havent reached Thats why Gohan cant turn SSJ on top of PU
The 'rival boost' is a misinterpretation, Goku and Vegeta just push each other to get stronger, so naturally their fusion would benefit from that. There's no boost. And the assumption that Gokhan > Vegito's predicated on Gohan's ultimate form being Gohan's new base, or that Gokhan's base would surpass it. Also doubtful since I think the fusion multiplier ignores the user's transformations. With that in mind, I'd say Gokhan would be a few times weaker than Vegito. Gohan's base isn't as high as Vegeta's, which would greatly dent the fusion's power. Though it doesn't matter since Vegito easily curb stomped Buuhan, and Buutenks is weaker than that

Super Exciting Guide flat out states that the Potara multiply each fighters’ battle power to create the base fusion. Therefore base Gokhan would be Ultimate Gohan x SSJ3 Goku while Vegito is SSJ3 Goku x SSJ2 Vegeta. The real question is if Gokhan can still go Super Saiyan since Gohan was in Ultimate when he fused with Goku. Would Gokhan still be able to turn SSJ if his potential is already unleashed? If not, it’s possible that Vegito could possibly outperform Gokhan by turning SSJ3.
Okay, but guess this. Gohan has Mystic. Vegeta has maximum Super Saiyan 2. Goku has Super Saiyan 3. Goku’s training in the Otherworld and Gohan’s training in the Land of the Kais was far more effective than the training Vegeta did. Gohan went from being weaker than Vegeta to easily surpassing his father. It’s safe to say his base form skyrocketed in power, as that was the form he did the most training in.
I believe in the Battle of Gods movie, Gohan stacks Super Saiyan on top of Mystic, and he did pretty much no training between Buu Saga and Battle of Gods.

In the what if scenario where Goku and Gohan fuse, they are fighting Super Buu, after Gotenks has defused. Buu would stand no chance but the fusion would likely be attempting the same thing Vegito did (purposefully getting absorbed in a rescue attempt), but I'd like to think their attempt could possibly fail if Vegita actually arrives to the fight trying to help only to be the one to get absorbed instead. Could Super Buu absorbing Vegeta possibly make him stronger than the fusion of Goku and Gohan? Maybe?

No. Vegeta at this point was weaker than both Goku and Gohan by a considerable margin. Vegeta onyl had SSJ2 whereas Goku had SSJ3 and Gohan had potential unleashed. Buuhan is definitely stronger than Buugeta. The only thing that would change is that vegeta might end up getting erased from existence because he would end up taking Gohan's place when Kid Buu destroyed the earth. There is a possibility that Gohan would have saved him alongside Piccolo and Gotenks but or Goku knowing Vegeta could permadie prioritizing him instead of Dende and Mr. Satan but it's unlikely.

I always thought it would sound better if any of the Son family members fused, instead of using Go- you would just use the last syllable. So instead of Gokhan it would be Kuhan or Hanku. And then Goten and Goku would be Kuten or Tenku. For some names, that way you did the naming here works, but i like mine too. Idk maybe thats just me 😂
It's hard to tell. Fuse is based on the bond between fusers, vegito is so strong because of the rivalry between goku/vegeta. Abridged memes aside, goku and gohan don't really have the best family bond and the fact goku has been dead for so long would only separate them further. So I would say while gokhan has amazing power potential, he would be mentally defeated even harder by majin buu and probably wouldn't have had the heart to fight buu at full strength knowing his family is inside him. I think gokhan vs vegito would be a similar thought process, gokhan would hold back knowing his father is inside him and vegito would mastermind manipulate him even easier than he did with buu.
The thing is, Goku is in both vegito and Gokhan and what Goku brings to the table is excitement for a good fight against a strong opponent, mind tricks and all would only work to an extand. Besides while its true Goku and Gohan may not have the best familly relationship, one has to remember the Cell Saga where Goku fully trusted Gohan and vice versa, sure it was a sad moment the farewells but in the end they didnt depart on bad terms, its not like the fusion would be any weaker. And finally consider this, the fusions primarly makes use of both of the base form of the ones that fuses (well it increases furthzr if the fusion happens while transformed but heeeh thats the gist of it), Goku and Vegeta's base forms are strong but its their transformations that makes them stronger. Gohan with potential unlocked no longer has acces to such forms as the Super Saiyan for his power is such that when he feels like transforming it just increases his power to that equivalent, its all his BASE power. Gokhan even without any further boost even with a less ideal mindset would just by sheer strenght be so much stronger its not even going to be a true fight

Not really, as fusion multipliers are based on the full power of the fusee. Mystic Gohan is WAY stronger than Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, thus making Gokhan way stronger.

If I recall correctly, in interviews it's said that the strongest form of Buu was actually Buutenks, but only while the fusion was still active. The reason Buuhan was so dangerous was a similar level of power but with fsr more intellect and bloodlust.

More fusions for the Saiyans need to happen. Not including Kefla (because U6 is irrelevant), we only have Gotenks (Goten and Trunks with Fusion Dance), Vegito (Goku and Vegeta with Potara Earrings), and Gogeta (Goku and Vegeta with Fusion Dance).
Also, considering that mystic Gohan was stronger than SS3 Goku, it also meant that even without Super Saiyan, Gokhan would have been on a whole other level. Of course, this was before they retconned mystic to not be basically an empowered base form for Gohan.
*I believe it was either in the manga or the daizenshuu where it was stated by Old Kai that a fusion between Goku and Gohan wouldn't need to go super saiyan to easily defeat Super Buu and that it would've been much stronger than the fusion between Goku and Vegeta. On a side note, it was officially stated by either the daizenshuu or Akira Toriyama that Super Vegito was actually at the same level of power at Super Saiyan God Goku in DBZ: Battle of Gods.*
I think Vegeta and Goku balance each other’s bad traits, so they’re almost a perfect warrior when they’re fused. It might not make up for the power difference, but Vegito would probably be a better fighter.

As cool as Vegito is, and his iconic voice, it feels as though we got cheated out of something better. It’s not like we wouldn’t have gotten Vegito eventually. Maybe it would have been difficult for Akira to draw their fusion. I love the concept art choices. I also wonder why they never added him to modern DBZ games, yet Broly gets SSJ3. My guess is back to, Akira and/or other artists who would design characters for the games would have no idea how to design the fusion (and they wouldn’t want to steal nor pay for the designs fans have come up with).

Kid Buu would still be a thing. Vegito could've easily killed Buu also, but they needed to rescue the people Buu absorbed. The scenario would likely turn out the same, except the final fight would've been over sooner if it was Goku and Gohan vs Kid Buu.

The power up by rivalry is a translation error, it does not exist, the old Kaioshin only said that the fusion of earrings was more convenient than the methamorp because it is faster to execute and that if 2 beings with a similar level of power are merged, the fusion of these will be more than the sum of the individuals. Thanks to the tournament of power we know that if the 2 individuals that are fused have very different powers, the fusion will have the same power level as the strongest individual of the 2 (therefore it is a waste to merge with someone very different from you in scale of power). Instead fusing with Vegeta would give a tremendous power boost since Goku and Vegeta had much more similar Ki than Goku and Gohan. Goku ssj3 was slightly stronger than fat Majin Buu, Super Buu is much stronger than the previous Buu and it took the fusion of 2 saiyans in ssj3 to face them (fusion much stronger than Goku ssj3) Now definitive Gohan was much stronger than Super Buu and therefore stronger than Gotenks and much stronger than Goku. So Gokhan would be just as strong as Gohan. We know this because Piccolo mentioned that Kefla was just as strong as Kale because of all the bible I said. so: Vegetto>Gokhan (and not because of a rivalry plus, that doesn't exist)

You don't always win just because you're stronger. Gohan proved that many times, his lack of experience and cockiness is his downfall. They would of lose to Cell if not for Goku teleporting cell away and motivated Gohan during the beam struggle. They would of lost to Buu if not for Goku coming back to life to fight Buuhan/Kid Buu. The fusion between Gohan and Goku might be slightly stronger but with Gohan's lack of experience & judgment, they still might of lost to Buu.

I wonder if they train as a fusion, imagine the huge growth of power within a short amount of time because their flaws are no more. Whis once said that Goku and Vegeta never needed to train with Whis to get this strong, they could of gotten strong all on their own if those two trained together to start with.

Goku is sometimes off-guard (according to whis but I disagree) whilst vegeta is too airtight. Caulifia is a decent technique but is too hot-headed. Kale had no technique and was too timid at times and only gained power by losing her rationale.

The important difference between Gokhan and Vegito would be that Gohan had access to Ultimate which in turn would allow Gokhan to bring out the power of a SSJ3 with basically no stamina drain at all while in the fusion. And since it doesn’t drain more stamina it wouldn’t drain the fusion timer faster meaning he has a full half hour as a fused hybrid saiyan with the power multiplier beyond that of SSJ3(i might be wrong about the timer part i genuinely don’t remember if it was stamina loss or power output that drained the timer), he would shit on Vegito without breaking a sweat honestly.

@@Brandonious15987 it was said to be permanent but as we saw it was not, and later it was revealed through DBS that the reason it was not permanent is because potara fusions are only permanent when at least one side is of divine blood, if both are mortals then the fusion is too unstable to last and it will eventually defuse, and in the fight against Zamasu when yhey fused, they ended up defusing far quicker than when fighting Buu, which was then followed by an explanation from Shin that the fusion must have been drained quicker due to them being way stronger than when fused against buu, so im led to believe its power output now that im writing this all out which would weaken the Gokhan fusion a lot but still would be stronger than Vegito

The 'rival boost' is a misinterpretation, Goku and Vegeta just push each other to get stronger, so naturally their fusion would benefit from that. There's no boost.
And the assumption that Gokhan > Vegito's predicated on Gohan's ultimate form being Gohan's new base, or that Gokhan's base would surpass it. Also doubtful since I think the fusion multiplier ignores the user's transformations.
With that in mind, I'd say Gokhan would be a few times weaker than Vegito. Gohan's base isn't as high as Vegeta's, which would greatly dent the fusion's power. Though it doesn't matter since Vegito easily curb stomped Buuhan, and Buutenks is weaker than that

the fusion multiplier does take transformations into account, it’s always described as the best of fighter A multiplied by the best of B. Super Exciting Guide flat out states that the Potara multiply each fighters’ battle power to create the base fusion. Therefore base Gokhan would be Ultimate Gohan x SSJ3 Goku while Vegito is SSJ3 Goku x SSJ2 Vegeta. The real question is if Gokhan can still go Super Saiyan since Gohan was in Ultimate when he fused with Goku. Would Gokhan still be able to turn SSJ if his potential is already unleashed? If not, it’s possible that Vegito could possibly outperform Gokhan by turning SSJ3.
Okay, but guess this. Gohan has Mystic. Vegeta has maximum Super Saiyan 2. Goku has Super Saiyan 3. Goku’s training in the Otherworld and Gohan’s training in the Land of the Kais was far more effective than the training Vegeta did. Gohan went from being weaker than Vegeta to easily surpassing his father. It’s safe to say his base form skyrocketed in power, as that was the form he did the most training in.
I believe in the Battle of Gods movie, Gohan stacks Super Saiyan on top of Mystic, and he did pretty much no training between Buu Saga and Battle of Gods.

In the what if scenario where Goku and Gohan fuse, they are fighting Super Buu, after Gotenks has defused. Buu would stand no chance but the fusion would likely be attempting the same thing Vegito did (purposefully getting absorbed in a rescue attempt), but I'd like to think their attempt could possibly fail if Vegita actually arrives to the fight trying to help only to be the one to get absorbed instead. Could Super Buu absorbing Vegeta possibly make him stronger than the fusion of Goku and Gohan? Maybe?

No. Vegeta at this point was weaker than both Goku and Gohan by a considerable margin. Vegeta onyl had SSJ2 whereas Goku had SSJ3 and Gohan had potential unleashed. Buuhan is definitely stronger than Buugeta. The only thing that would change is that vegeta might end up getting erased from existence because he would end up taking Gohan's place when Kid Buu destroyed the earth. There is a possibility that Gohan would have saved him alongside Piccolo and Gotenks but or Goku knowing Vegeta could permadie prioritizing him instead of Dende and Mr. Satan but it's unlikely.

I always thought it would sound better if any of the Son family members fused, instead of using Go- you would just use the last syllable. So instead of Gokhan it would be Kuhan or Hanku. And then Goten and Goku would be Kuten or Tenku. For some names, that way you did the naming here works, but i like mine too. Idk maybe thats just me 😂
It's hard to tell. Fuse is based on the bond between fusers, vegito is so strong because of the rivalry between goku/vegeta. Abridged memes aside, goku and gohan don't really have the best family bond and the fact goku has been dead for so long would only separate them further. So I would say while gokhan has amazing power potential, he would be mentally defeated even harder by majin buu and probably wouldn't have had the heart to fight buu at full strength knowing his family is inside him.
I think gokhan vs vegito would be a similar thought process, gokhan would hold back knowing his father is inside him and vegito would mastermind manipulate him even easier than he did with buu.
The thing is, Goku is in both vegito and Gokhan and what Goku brings to the table is excitement for a good fight against a strong opponent, mind tricks and all would only work to an extand.
Besides while its true Goku and Gohan may not have the best familly relationship, one has to remember the Cell Saga where Goku fully trusted Gohan and vice versa, sure it was a sad moment the farewells but in the end they didnt depart on bad terms, its not like the fusion would be any weaker.
And finally consider this, the fusions primarly makes use of both of the base form of the ones that fuses (well it increases furthzr if the fusion happens while transformed but heeeh thats the gist of it), Goku and Vegeta's base forms are strong but its their transformations that makes them stronger.
Gohan with potential unlocked no longer has acces to such forms as the Super Saiyan for his power is such that when he feels like transforming it just increases his power to that equivalent, its all his BASE power.
Gokhan even without any further boost even with a less ideal mindset would just by sheer strenght be so much stronger its not even going to be a true fight

More fusions for the Saiyans need to happen. Not including Kefla (because U6 is irrelevant), we only have Gotenks (Goten and Trunks with Fusion Dance), Vegito (Goku and Vegeta with Potara Earrings), and Gogeta (Goku and Vegeta with Fusion Dance).
Also, considering that mystic Gohan was stronger than SS3 Goku, it also meant that even without Super Saiyan, Gokhan would have been on a whole other level. Of course, this was before they retconned mystic to not be basically an empowered base form for Gohan.
It would of been badass to see the fight against Buu if Gohan kept training after the Cell games.
