it's insane how antony starr looks nothing like homelander but they're the same person
it's the glasses. this is his Clark disguise.
And it's amazing how he transformed hinself into the macho, alpha male, badass Sheriff Lucas Hood - who was basically Wolverine without the claws!
Glasses, different hair color/hairstyle and I think a fake tan all contribute to that, lol. Homes looked way more orange this season.

Anthony Starr deserves an award for his portrayal of Homelander.
Jensen Ackles mentioned he did 3 audtion for Eric Kripke before getting the role of Soldier Boy which tells me a lot about their friendship. Soldier Boy wasn't handed to Jensen, Jensen had to earn it and I am excited for what Jensen brings to this show that I already love.
Let be real, Supernatural was more about putting in the likely super long hours than having incredible acting chops, even if moments shined for the audience. I'd have been surprised and a bit disappointed if he was just handed this.
@@SwobyJ you are very wrong not one person in supernatural that was casted was bad actor. Even the one episode actors were always picked very carefully. You can for example see many same actors in supernatural as you see in House. And I saw few of the actors doing stuff after. Jensen was by far the highest caliber on set but everyone was always very good.

I saw bad acting and Supernatural is above average for what it was, especially after season 5. Yes doing stuff, not everyone gets a big break that doesn’t make them not good. The show is a bit raunchy but I watched both season 1&2 only watching season 3 only because of Jensen Ackles.
For me, it was truly refreshing to see a beloved actor like Jensen playing someone who I began to fear and anticipate more and more during the season - good stuff

Feel bad that people refute this bc he has an issue with drinking and attacked a guy once. Like obviously that's bad, yet he pleased guilty apologized profusely and took responsibility. I can think of like 5 people in my nz town who have done smth almost exactly like after a few too many. The movie Jensen worked on with SPF was Ten Inch Hero. That movie was also the 2nd time Jensen worked with his future wife Danneel, the first being a short called The Plight of Clownana.

Daniel Day Lewis is a character actor. Gary Oldman is a character actor. Marlon Brando was a character actor. Christian Bale is a character actor. Jensen is just an actor, and not a great one for that matter (as much as I like the guy and enjoy Supernatural)

Jensen plays himself, much like Rock, Vin Diesel, Ryan Reynolds, etc. Those guys are type actors. Character actors are often colorful and eccentric, much like Johnny Depp in the 90's.

I genuinely love how this show shifts they’re main character every season, first season was hughie and butcher, the second (IMO) was kamiko and starlight then the third was easily homelander and soldier boy
I wasnt too sure about jensen Ackles at first because of his character in supernatural, which is this kinda goofy man-baby.
But man, he crushed it in the boys, Ive never seen him so cold and serious before, nailed it.

I'm really excited to see the Deep in this show. I've always been curious to see him do some fun and coo laction scenes. I loved his scene in Season 2 when he used the sea animals and the whale to help. I'm really sad due to the whale dying still, but it was such a good scene and I want to see him use it in a useful combat scenario. Maybe there will be another few villain sea people he can fight or something.
