    in my opinion the Pilot Hi-Tecpoint v5 (gives a line width of 0.3mm) is not only a great writer but doubles up as a really nice drawing implement; i've not had it long, and someone mentioned that the nib will degrade after half a dozen cartridges but even so, i love it

    • @HEATHENS5074
      @HEATHENS5074 Год назад +1

      I've been using mine since like 8 months and the nib does get a lil noisy but other than that it's still writes just as good l.. iv been looking for another cartridge roller ball pen but i can't seem to find any better than the v5

    The Pilot hi tech point can use normal fountain pen. I tried. I refilled it with normal fountain pen ink. Writes smoothly.

    Pilot does have the non-refillable v5/v7 in Japan. They are just called the hi-tecpoint, and they are the exact same pen as the precise v5/v7 in the US.

    Hey sal, check out the “schneider one change” rollerball pen, i think you will be surprised. I think its my favorite pen ever! And this is coming from a person who owns 70+ pen collection from all types ballpoint,gel, rollerball,fp ( acro 1000, pentel philography, parkers, lamys, zebras, uniball, pilot hi tec refillable ... i find my self reaching for that pen specifically despite having a big of options to choose. As much as i learned of you from following your channel, you well love that pen. When you change the ink cartridge you get a new fresh head, cuz its a part of the cartridge!

      That brand has a very nice number of refillable rollerballs. Most of them use standard ink cartridges and mine ( the voyage model) can be used with a converter.

    Monteverde makes an "inkball" version of its tool pen that takes fountain pen cartridges. I bought one and used it for a couple of fills and then set it aside. It was ok. This video has made me want to dig it out again and see what happens with daily use for a month or more.
    Thanks for another interesting video

    I LOVE the Zebra R-301. I've probably commented before because I was bummed when I couldn't get cartridges any more. I just filled one of my two remaining cartridges with Waterman Serenity Blue this morning. So far, no leaks a nd it seems to work really well. I just bought a decent fountain pen. I hate the V-301s. There are so many good cheap fountain pens that come with converters, you might as well try one. It's a lot cheaper.

    In my country pilot hi-techv5/v7 is available for 0.75 dollars
    And it's my favourite
    I have 2 questions sir,
    1)Can I use "Parker quink" ink in cartage of pilot hi-techv5 pen
    2) The ink has come to the area of pen where I hold it, and I saw that same thing has happened in your pilot hi-techv7 pen too,can you tell me why it happened and how to avoid it

    • @HEATHENS5074

    This is very cool. As a guy who got gifted a lot of fountain pens and ink, but wants a rolllerball for EDC, these are interesting choices. Also, fountain pens are terrible for writing on receipts, in my experience. Is there an FP ink you would recommend? Or should I still bring a rolllerball or ballpoint as backup? Usually have a Pilot Prera in pocket.

    Great review! Curious as someone who loves to use fountain pen ink in these types of rollerballs, any specific brand or type of fountain pen ink to avoid as it would clog up a refillable unit like these? I know generally not to use inks with shimmers but any other ingredients to look out for in terms of fountain pen inks?

    • @clarenxie5235

    Can u pls give me advice for a rollerball which can use many brand of fountain pen ink? I find out many of my rollerball (have refill system) just work with only 1 kind of ink. If I chảnge to other brand ink, it ll be so blurred with some ink and be overflowing too much with some other ink. Thank so much.

    That Monteverde looked nice until the price tag was revealed, but also the fact that the mechanism isn't awesome. Very cool looking pen though. I'll stick with ballpoint or fountain, no need for a finicky middleman. (In my opinion).

    English is meant to be written by right handers. You need to write Chinese or some language that write from right to left. Otherwise your hand smear the ink as you go along the sentence. It is very difficult to write a sentence well with a fluid ink with your left hand

    • @Morbpious
      @Morbpious Год назад

      I don't know if you have really short fingers or something, but you could totally write right to left languages by just extending your finger away from the palm so it doesn't smear
