- Welcome to Part 1 of the Ariana Grande Crochet Cardigan Series where we will be making a beautiful hooded cardigan like the one worn by Ariana Grande in her Tik Tok posts.
Part 1 of this 5 part series will focus on making the hood section.

I have a suggestion that might help people a bit with that front length you need to make. Try doing the back and front panels (videos 2 & 3) first. So you know how long you need the front to hang. I then added 20 stitches and bunched up the hood on the "sides" when I sewed it together (like next to the front and back panel stitching if that makes sense). None of my numbers matched this, I had to figure most of it out for myself. But it came out like hers, I also didn't resize any hooks or add those end stitches, I used a faux fur too which made it harder. I'd I can do this, you can too! I hope this helps someone

I have attempted this 3x now - the first two are really small. 3x I went up hook sizes and still would only fit a small child lol! What am I doing wrong? Also really confused on the sewing part. Written patten doesn’t explain very well and Video shows you sewing top part together and only one of the longer sides - what about other side?? Help lol!!
Hi Misty, don’t worry! Did you have a size 15 hook (US size?) as mine is a 10mm UK size.

I am following the video and written pattern at the same time to learn how to read a pattern. I am getting quite confused as they don't seem to be the same? Am I correct????

@@catkemble I’m only on row 3 (hood) …. On the video it say to chain 2 before starting the row but doesn’t on the written. Also on the video (around time 19:30 - 1937) is quite confusing? Is it me😕

So I purchased your pattern but I’m confused because it doesn’t seem like it’s matching the video. The pattern doesn’t say when to switch hooks and the back panel says chain 50 but the video starts with chaining 7 with 6.5 then 18 with 10mm then yarning over and going into 3rd chain from hook and doing 18 HDC then 5 with 6.5mm. What am I doing wrong 😭😆🤣
Hello! Thanks so much! The pattern doesn’t switch hooks as this is optional if you want a tighter stitch at the bottom. I will email you 😊
