Flir Tools also supports the Flir One. That was missing from your spreadsheet. At least it can analyze the images transferred from the phone to your computer.
+mjlorton Is the radiometric data from the Flir ONE just the list of data displayed in Tools at the lower right (spot temp, emissivity, Refl temp, etc)? I'm just trying to get the most out of my ONE. Well, if it ever gets back to me. After a 7 month backorder to get it, the one they sent me had a defective battery producing battery life of less than 20 minutes. FLIR has had my camera for almost a month now and there's still no sign of them repairing it and sending it back to me. I am very disappointed in their service.
Thanks for a very nice review. I'm looking for a thermal camera for observing parts on a PCB. It would be really nice to see a comparison shots of an PCB with small SMD components at different temperatures, would also be very nice to see whether it is possible to see wider PCB traces heating up . I can't decide, which feature is the most important for this work: either the MSX, manual zoom or high resolution? Would be greatly appreciated, if you could be bothered.
I would like to see how some of them perform outside. Seek Reveal, flir scout series and fluke. I heard Flir has a lower end Scout TK coming out. A lot of people use these for hunting and hiking.
A nice comparison, quite useful, thank you. For my use case, I am looking for a thermal camera that can spot an overheating resistor on a circuit board. Can you mention a few that would be a great option for an advanced hobbyist? Cheers!
It would be nice if you could set the pallet range to show temperature differences in low temperature range for refrigeration purposes, in let’s say -30F temps. Would contact thermistors be more accurate?
Thank you for the review, I still went for the seek reveal, but the new PRO version, for the high resolution and 15 fps. And I personally really like the sensor placement I think it's quite ergonomic if you don't want to raise your hand all the time :) I'm not a professional user to I guess it will suit me fine just for playing around :)
thx a lot. great vid and verry useful for my near purchase. what woul be your choice for hobby electronics repair? like spotting shorts or troublesooting pcbs. i am going towards the flir one for android.
Thanks for making this valuable guide, mjlorton. There is a water leakage in the middle concrete ceiling of the living room in my apartment, after checking everywhere on upper floor, I really don't know where the water comes from. Is there any thermal camera that it can detect the water leakage behind the concrete wall effectively?
Very nice review! I also would like to know about using these thermal cameras specific for electronics. I have the FLIR E4 hacked as E8, but for electronics in short distances is not good enough, since the minimum distance is 15 cm which gives you not great details. Which one would be recommended for tasks like PCB inspection for damaged components and alike? Thank you!
Do you have up to date to 2020 - I'm looking for something less than$500 but much better than THI HT-175? Thanks for a great videos and doing all of this work! People who don't make these video's, do not know how many hours you put into this, including making the video, editing and the sample cameras!!! Please keep up these video's!
Very nice and very thorough review. I'm looking for a review/comparison between the Flir One Pro and the Seek Compact Pro, both for Android. A recommendation would be supurb since I've never used one before. This would be around the house and or automotive.
Hello, I'm looking for a camera that has a long shutter speed to look at mountainsides for temperature differences. Do you know which one would be best? I suppose it does not need to be a really good one, because it does not have a short shutter speed like the pros use. But likely it needs an adjustable shutter speed and every pixel needs uniform sensitivity. It also probably needs a long focal length or range. Would you be able to point me in the right direction, I'm looking for something less than $300?
Very nice review, great job! Which one of these, or even others, would you recommend for electronic repairs. I'm thinking about the cheaper options, like Flir TG165/167/130, Milwaukee 2258-21. etc.
Did you find one? Therm-app now has a couple MD models that are calibrated for human body temperature. Don't know how well they work. I'm interested in their TH model, but frustrated that so many of the cameras available now are becoming quite old models.
Now that you can get the Seek Reveal for 250 on amazon, and the FLIR C2 for 700, would you still recommend the FLIR? I will use it for longer distances so I don't think MSX will come in handy for me. What do you think?
Thanks for sharing. Could you please recommend among Flir C3,Flir TG167 and Flir One Pro for termite inspection to detect theit activities behind walls?
you should make a video of a PCB comparsion, you are an electro-technician, so all your viewers are interested to see differences for example short circuit on MB etc... please make a normal video. Thankx
I have the older iPhone 5 FLIR ONE (it looks like an external battery on the iPhone 5) & TG165, love them. Thanks for the comparisons, great video!
No body can beat this comparison.
Excellent review Martin, thx for putting in such effort, especially just before holiday season. Very helpful.
Excellent series. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Very informative.
where can i get this spreadsheet?
Great job. You put a lot of effort.
+jpalm32 Thanks.
Excellent series! I watched them all. Nicely done. Are there any new entries since the time of this video?
Flir Tools also supports the Flir One. That was missing from your spreadsheet. At least it can analyze the images transferred from the phone to your computer.
+f091537 Thanks very much for catching that. It has radiometric as well so I've updated the spreadsheet and will annotate the video.

Thanks for all the info. I think I've decided on the THT45. Your review has helped greatly. Thanks again!
Wow! That was a lot of work! Nicely done mate!
Fantastic. Full of great details. Thanks!
Excellent review! Thanks for your time and your final thoughts were nicely put.
Great and very nice work!! Thank you and congratulations!! You are one of our inspiration to make our own comparisons, again thank you!
Very helpful series. Thank you! I would like a copy of the spreadsheet as well!
Yes
Hi Martin
Thkxs for an excellent videoblog on thermal camera's. Learned a lot from it. Can you tell me where to find the spreadsheet you produced ?
Excellent wrap-up for the series.
+Paul Rautenbach Thanks Paul.
Thanks for a very nice review.

What model did you finally decide on?
Things are really cool series of videos but what I like to know what do you think about the HarborFreight thermal camera
a comparison with the new seek reveal pro would be nice. it's higher priced, higher resolution and higher refresh rate than the older reveal (xr).
Excellent review !! Many thanks as it was extremely helpful. Cheers !!

Thanks for such an helpful review..!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Keeping price in mind, what would you choose to find animals at night?. Anywhere from distance of say 5 metres to upto 40 mtrs thereabouts.
Hello, I’m also looking for a thermal camera for the same kinda use as Jason’s, any suggestions?
You keep talking about a spreadsheet, where is it?
thank you John Malkovich. Very useful information
Sir, Plz Sugest me, which model is best for electronic board trouble inspection Purpous ??
Why is it that I copy & paste the title of video to your site and - nothing found
Or the lack of your spread sheet ?

I interest your calibration machine you made it by yourself ?
I want a cost of it.
What camera would you buy for electronics board repair in 2023?
ou

Thanks for all of the effort that you have put into this series. Is the battery user-replaceable in the FLIR ONE?
+grumpy one Thanks. I had to send that camera back to FLIR last week so I can't confirm but I don't think it is user-replaceable.
i need a thermal camera for measuring the ARC welding temperature, What is the most suitable camera?
I need to find water in concrete. Will the Flir be capable?
can anyone tell me which one is good for Thermography as a tool to diagnose hidden medical conditions?????
Did you find one? Therm-app now has a couple MD models that are calibrated for human body temperature. Don't know how well they work. I'm interested in their TH model, but frustrated that so many of the cameras available now are becoming quite old models.

Why no mention of the E4 resolution hack?
+Olavi I did in a previous video.
great uploads thank you
have you reviewed the Hti18
Nice review. What is your opinion about Reed R2050? I am from Argentina. I m lookin for my first camera. Thanks
how about the new seek compact pro ?
T3CHNOTURK
It's garbage
Mwdub02 oke i ordered the flir one 6 days ago
please i need the datasheet in this video
well done! Thanks

+Robert Calk Jr. Thanks Robert.
Hi. Can I know does FLIR One able to detect water leakage behind concrete wall?
1500 ? WOW!
Nice T shirt
Thermal imaging is so overpriced for no damn reason. I will never spend my money on something that will lose its accuracy after a couple of months.
Sounds like you are South African
