@@richmcgee434At that time it wasn’t proven that it causes cancer. However nowadays they advertise Colgate with MFP fluoride that causes cancer and there idiots that still buy it.
Classic TV cop show showing San Francisco back in the day. There is real Bank of Nova Scotia which is ScotiaBank. Clark Howett who played the hotel manager was a fixture on the TV show Dragnet playing cops.
24:47- "'THE LINEUP', from San Francisco, was presented by KING-SIZE *VICEROY!* The cigarette with TWICE as many filters as the other two leading filter brands-..... *20,000 filters* for the smoothest taste in smoking!"
I grew up in San Francisco. Loved this show. I notice that the entrance to the Brocklebank Apartments on Nob Hill is shown in this episode. That entrance has been used over and over in films and TV shows most notably in Vertigo. My Dad lived there during the final years of his life. Beautiful view over Chinatown and the Bay. I agree with the person who noticed that they did in fact use the real names of businesses such as Ransohoff's and Magnins now long gone. Ransohoffs made an importance appearance in Vertigo. God the days before credit cards. People went around with letters of credit and paid cash. There was so little traffic back then. You could park anywhere. Of course if you used the product that sponsored the show there was a good chance that you would eventually die of lung cancer.
How long did Guthrie and Greb ride around in that old Ford…before they finally got smart and DUMPED it , for a black DODGE D-500 HEMI Police Special !!
Greetings from UK.Brilliant series.Thanks for posting.Cheers Jim
A great show. Unlike today's police dramas, these old shows were morality plays.
And cigarette ads. Real moral, helping sell cancer and addiction.
Series was syndicated as San Francisco Beat.
Indubidubly 🙂

Favorite episode so far, fortunately more I haven't seen yet...great show!
Lived in SF in 50's loved watching the series then.
Used to love this show. I think it was on Saturday night late.
Great show!
Here's to Viceroy's, coffee and cops. Thanks for sharing, rschreck.
Loved that they used the names of real hotels and stores.
Boy, no inter net, no cell phones, no computers, no people with tattoos, everybody well dressed, just great.
You behave differently when you're well-dressed. You hold your head high. It's nice to watch a show where you don't see what God gave 'em!

I knew they would let the kid keep the bike. Did you see that smile on his face. What a nice gesture.
