    Thanks prakashji,
    You have explained beautifully what is ment by scientific temper. how can one develop it for himself
    , no doubt it is duty of every citizen, but at the same time it is also duty of the government to create an congenial environment to support the same. In England a royal society was created during 1663. We need such royal societies at each district. We have many schemes at local level such as, old aged, widow, singers, dancers, marginal labours, SC /st people, destitute , and for Devdasis but not for to development of scientific temper for common man of this country. In this context . I have authored a book in kannada. It is published by karnataka state council for science and technology Bangalore. I have its unpublished English version. I would like to share it with you and have your comments on it. I shall be happy if you could share your contact details such as email etc.

    1. Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka jaya he
    Bharata-bhagya vidhata.
    A. Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people,
    Dispenser of India's destiny
    2. Parikrama clockwise ??
    4. Touch wood ??
    5. Blowing candles on birthday cake ??
    A. All of these rituals/beliefs root from ancient hindu/greek/pagan/christian myths which are all flawed at the current level of sciemtific understanding. People have been pursuing them for such a long time that they have now become an ordinary practice. Any possible explanation for such question has no stastical significance.
    3. why roti puffs ??
    A. while kneeding the dough for a chapati/roti we are basically entrapping mositure and air in the flour. on heating the flat dough the steam generated from the moisture along with air bubble rises and creates a forces causing the roti to puff up.

    Excellent demonstration of scientific temper. But why should it be mixed with religion and destiny at the end?

    • @dhilsen100
      @dhilsen100 3 года назад

      to rationally decode religion, destiny etc though it is philosophy, which in turn is the mother of all science !

    • @ranjeeet2002
      @ranjeeet2002 Год назад

      It's a daily practice without scientific temper. Even I am getting it difficult understanding the mix while approaching towards the topic. Other than Hindus I don't find any other persons explaining their thoughts on thier practice. Can we have scholars from other believe who can highlight like the professor did on rituals. I am working on scientific temper for the school going students, but all paths goes to religion only at the end.

    Sorry to say that...
    The presenter's approach appears to be an attempt to lend scientific credibility to traditional philosophies. While he acknowledges the importance of scientific temper, it is my opinion that he has not fully liberated himself from outdated dogmas and is not a true 'freethinker'.
    It seems that he has used the idea of 'Scientific Temper' to elevate Hindu philosophy, but I remain unconvinced that he has a comprehensive understanding of scientific theories, such as the origins of the universe, human cognitive biases, and biological evolution.
    However, he deserves recognition for his efforts to break free from traditional thinking and rituals. While Hinduism has admirable aspects, its attempt to explain the world falls short in the face of modern scientific inquiry. It's essential to recognize that concepts such as God, religion, and ideologies are products of the human brain.

    wonder where he is now. god knows he'd be annoyed with the state of the country now. i would want everyone to watch this and remind themselves what we must be, how we must be and how we actually are. scientific temper is not a scientist's thing. its a Thing everyone must have, how else will u survive in the world if you're naive enough to only believe what sounds or looks nice?

    ഇത് നല്ല ഒന്നാംതരം വെളുപ്പിക്കൽ പോലെ ആണ് തോന്നുന്നത്..! ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് scientific temper എന്ന ആശയം അത്യാവശ്യം നന്നായി അറിയാം.
    പക്ഷേ പ്രധാനപെട്ട പല കെട്ടുപാടുകളും പൊട്ടിയ സ്വതന്ത്ര ചിന്തകൻ ആണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നില്ല.
    Hinduism എന്ന പുരാതന ആശയത്തെ nice ആയി സൈഡിൽ കൂടി overglorify ചെയ്യാൻ scientific temper എന്ന ആശയത്തെ വരെ കൂട്ട് പിടിച്ചത് പോലെ ഉണ്ട്!! പരിണാമം, മനഃശാസ്ത്രം, പ്രപഞ്ചം എന്ന വിഷയങ്ങളെ പറ്റി അത്രത്തോളം തിരിച്ചറിവ് ഉണ്ടോ എന്ന് സംശയം ഉണ്ട്!! എന്നിരുന്നാലും ആചാരങ്ങളിൽ കുടുങ്ങി കിടക്കുന്നതിൽ നിന്ന് അല്പം മുക്തി നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. Hinduism ഒരു കാലത്ത് reflective ആയി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രശംസനീയമാണ്, പക്ഷേ അതൊന്നും തന്നെ ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ഉള്ള അറിവിൻ്റെ മുന്നിൽ mystify ചെയ്യാൻ തക്കവിധം ഇന്ന് ഇല്ല എന്ന് ശാസ്ത്രം കൂടുതൽ പഠിക്കുമ്പോൾ തിരിച്ച് അറിയാൻ സാധിക്കും. മനുഷ്യൻ്റെ തലച്ചോറിൻ്റേ തന്നെ സൃഷ്ട്ടിയാണ് ദൈവവും, മതവും അതിൻ്റെ പല പഴയ ഫിലോസോഫികളും!!

    First and foremost when you talk of scientific temper you are using it as a forum to debunk our beliefs thinking that you are the only smart person. First and foremost nobody has said that a marriage will be perfect or there will be no fights if done on an auspicious day. Yet you try to sound very humourous. Narlikar s talk on astrology cannot be considered valid as he has made his mind against astrology and does his research accordingly. He doesn't become a great scientist by debunking astrology. You are talking things which are not connected with science . It is unfortunate that the audience is applauding and clapping and laughing when you talk such nonsense. Nobody requires your certificate that he has a scientific temper
