Dr. Pravin Bhatia the co-founder of Creative Education, talks about a unique alternate method of formal teaching, that aims at ensuring children think and apply themselves. He also talks about how it increases the pace of teaching.

Dr. Pravin Bhatia is an alumni of NDA and retd. Squadron Leader from the Indian Air Force. He holds a doctorate in English literature and was recognized as India’s Best Author and India's Bestselling author for 2008 by India Today.
Mr.Bhatia has held dignified positions like Director, Education, SAARC Society Int. and has connections with about 5000 NRI teachers and intellects around the globe.
He is also the co-founder of Creative Education, which promotes a unique way of learning that aims at polishing our students.

Very inspiring lecture. I am a English teacher. I will use techniques in my classroom.
1- Create a group of 6 students.
2-Divide the portion which you want to teach among students.
3-Ask them to discuss it and understand concept.
4-Share it in front of students.
5-Q & A session.

How to implement this Idea to teach my both children at my home in short way
Sir I want to raise a concern regarding all what you said. today experts focused at student centered activities. But I hesitantly would admit that I love to hear information and learn better that way, despite the fact that I was nerdy and shy person in my school years. Mostly I read books on whatever subject I found and now my mind is a great info bank, still I love to have a human touch to all what I need to learn. In fact I read things written down and do no believe in them but once if someone speaks the same thing to me I take that in consideration. I am in practical life now and a parent too.
Why am I not confident about what i learnt from book?
I was taught in teacher centered classes but read books too and never argued about any differences that I found during study days but I used to be sure about everything I studied. Now my confidence in what I learn is always not very strong.

Humans need the freedom to develop the whole of who they are, what they think and the effects of their actions, they need time to play, engage with one another, explore their feelings and understand their environment, learn eye to hand co-ordination, free play, and much more, and a strong sense of self and confidence in their own ability. They could learn to do simple actions around the home, how to handle relationships of parents, siblings, and once they are ready, perhaps to start learning maths and english and other subjects once they feel positive about their own individuality, they will know how to handle their feelings, they can relate how they are feeling with what appropriate action to take in a loving way, they learn facial expressions and body language before coming into a classroom. A teacher will see when a child is engaged in the subject, when the child is giving 100% attention to it, and joyful expression. Its very difficult to engage a child who isn't interested in a subject, and is bored, and they are more able to articulate this as they are more able to express themselves. Play needs to play a bigger role in the early years perhaps they will be ready by 10 years plus. I think we need confidence in self first and then the joy of learning can begin, with more life skills in the curriculum, and maths and english be secondary, if only at a basic level.

Students should discuss the lecture that teacher just read or a textbook's chapter and then retell it to teacher for check if they understood all right.

Do you feel 'gender analysis' a useful aid for improving teaching practice? I've to write an essay on the topic and I can only see reasons why one would NOT want to use 'gender analysis' as an aid to teaching practice. I'm trying to find some reasonable reasons why it might be useful. Thanks.

If this is a technique then what is called a strategy?
The technique which is so greatly appraised by the speaker in this video is commonly known as the "Jigsaw Method". It is, contrary to what seems to be conveyed in this video, not at all a new technique, but was developed in the early 1970s by American psychologist Elliot Aronson. The idea resulted from his struggles to build community and trust within American schools in times after the civil rights movement, that had left the now "integrated schools" with ongoing competition and mistrust between the students.
The method is as a part of the portfolio of "Collaborative Learning Techniques" widely known.
I do not understand why it is claimed as such a revolutionary practice without even mentioning the proper name or its origin - Is the speaker claiming creative ownership of this idea? I hope not.
Yeah, it is not new at all, i have some lazy teachers that use this method, what happens is 2 or 3 students from the group of 6 will do all the work while the rest will just waste their time, it is not really effective and the teacher will come across as a lazy dude, it is really easy for the teacher, I'm a medical student and want to become a professor someday, since I've experienced this method I'm afraid I won't be applying in my class

Good method for today'a student but how to teach geography at secondary levels.
Maya Paul 1. take them outside and show some amount of geography, 2. Give them small projects to "show and explain" to class 3. Bring in models /working models to class and get them to explore and analyse 4. Get to the field and get them to build an ecosystem. I am doing integrated learning for teachers and students alike... I follow all 3 methods based on chapters.

BUT WHEN IT COMES TO EXAMINATION THE WHOLE SYLABUS IS TO BE EVALUATED. WHAT ABOUT REST OF THE PORTION A 6 PERSONS GROUP DIDNT READ. IF U SAY THEY DID IT LATER THEN HOW MUCH TIME THEY TOOK FOR THE WHOLE CONCEOT OR CHAPTER. I MEAN WHAT ABOUT THE TIME MANAGEMENT.

日本では2016年くらいを境に「終わった」ALに関する議論の内容だと思ったけど、現場にはまだ普及してない考え方なのだろう。こういう「考え方」で教育の改善に努めるということ「も」必要だろうというひとつの大きなアイデアの提示にすぎないというのが今の主流な議論の流れだと思う。とはいえこういった考え方に現職の特に高校の教員が接し、授業を見直し「乗り越えて」いくことが必要だとも思う。
授業や教育観の改善につながるとも思うし、昭和な教育観との決別にもなると思う。

It's very good presentation but he made a very very big mistake when he said the brain is all thing and the heart is nothing to do except beating. And I tell you that the heart is all thing and the brain is nothing except transporting the feeling. So the heart who feel and who is responsible for everything. Soon or later, the science will prove that. Trust Me!
This is an outdated understanding of our organs.
I totally agree that the heart is more than just another “unintelligent” organ. There are older cultures who believe the heart is the center of intelligence like we think of the brain now. They didn’t feel centered in the brain in any way. Science may say other wise but science still can’t explain consciousness in any meaningful way so let’s at least admit we don’t know, because we don’t.
I ttly agree with u cuz the heart is the heart of all consciousness! I heard a story from a specialist. It says thr s a man wh replaced his heart by another... Th heart transplanted belonged t a deceased man who had a poetic mind.. After th recvry, our man realized he knows a lot of poems! Th brain is an extension of th heart!
