      Hey mate, what size were screws? I see you used an 8mm drill piece? 🤔

      @@doricdave hey dude, yeah pretty much anything will work I recon? I used 6mm screws 70mm long, possibly a bit over kill, but it’s what I had lying around?

    Au naturel looks awesome - it allows the boards to show themselves off while reminding us they're all made from the same stuff. I know that moisture is a bit of a thing over there in the UK (the fact that the whole country is mossy and mouldy is a dead give away) so perhaps try a Satin Polycrylic finish. It won't turn yellow and will add a little bump/scratch protection but make sure you apply it in thin coats or else it may get a little tacky. You could always leave the inserts uncoated if that's a concern, but really it shouldn't be 👍

      Centimeters aren’t good for us Americans 😂. At least my measuring tape has both.

    Do you feel like the depth of the cut-outs are important to prevent board warpage from long term storage?

    • @JonBishopSkate
      @JonBishopSkate  Год назад

      I have to admit I didn’t really think about it, but now you mention it, I reckon the more support the better for long-term storage?

    Nice work! I went through a very similar exercise myself to make mine, but I used a load of 9mm MDF I hade lying around plus some bits of 2x2 pine. The trickiest bit like you say is finding that balance between how much space you need between boards and how many you can fit in the height you have. They always look good parked in a rack like that though 😎

    This is dope. I’ll have to build one like this soon. Does the MDF get beat up too easily? I’d prefer to use it since it’s cheaper in my area.

    👍 like the yoga video too, it reminds me to do it as always get tight in the legs for not stretching properly, maybe do a skaters fitness/body maintenance video pretty regularly, would be cool as old gits trying to skateboard need a bit of extra help 😆

    Thanks for the tutorial ! I’ll make a similar shorter assembly of 6 slots for a combo racking of skate, long board and snow board. Just need to measure the perfect space between board as it will uniformly fit, either it is a skate wheel base or a snow fix on the top

    • @JonBishopSkate
      @JonBishopSkate  3 года назад +1

      Ah, yeah I judged it to leave 2 cm of wood at the back, so it didn’t cross my mind on the depth, my bad. The top edge of the cut out is 11cm ?
