Blackpool has something special no other parts of the UK has, over twenty visits in the last four years. We do not go for the seaside but that is a plus for keeping active for a long walk. just something tranquil and just to do nothing, we always stay at the Imperial Hotel and cannot fault it. The wind and the rain hammering down knowing you are on a break is just simply British. The trams are just brilliant. The nightlife is fantastic also for all ages.
Thanks for another walk around Stephen! I am Glaswegian and as a child we used to come down on the "September Weekend, where Glasgow has a bank holiday on the last Monday of September! Blackpool was and still is, a favourite destination to visit to see the illuminations in particular. Even if the weather was like this it didn't dampen anyone's spirits, Blackpool was magic, especially when you were a child. You will find a lot of Glaswegians and Scots in general, hold Blackpool in their hearts❤😊
Been in the Grand Theatre many times over the years. Last time to see Ken Dodd - absolutely brilliant. Was always a late finish. Thanks for showing Stephen 👍🏻😎☀️
Another great video mixing the sights of Blackpool with a little history. The council really need to spruce up the town and put some flowers in as it looks like a concrete jungle!
Hi Stephen . Maybe there were not many people about because it was raining. More may go for a walk when the lights go on. It’s always interesting you showing us all the old buildings. rain or shine yo are always there for us. and for this I thank you very much 👍👏❤️❤️❤️
Hi mate I was here a month ago . I'm from Wales . I came here on a bus trip . I come every year . Me and my wife love it here.. we always watch your videos .
I’m just back from Blackpool Stephen with 3 kids and all my family stayed at the cliff I go to black 2/3 times a year Blackpool has been great to us over the years, it’s a great place
Thanks for another great video Stephen I'm just back after the glasgow weekend been coming down for years and I can definitely call Blackpool my home from home 😊
Good evening. What a very nice to look at. video of you going for a lovely stroll around the streets of Blackpool. Apart from the wind and rain, it was not to bad. Very enjoyable to watch. High Quality video editing. Some of the buildings in Blackpool are very Archetecturial and full of Historical Heritage. You really do have a Fountain of Knowledge and very Interesting Information Steve. I really did enjoy your Movie of Excellent High Deffinition Quality again. Thank you for sharing Steve. Jonathan. ☺☺👍👍☔☔☔🌈🌈🌈🌈
Home now from Blackpool ..had a fabulous weekend at the winter gardens 50th anniversary of Wigan casino .. danced my legs off great music great people great atmosphere .. 🎉❤ .. .DJ playing the old Mecca tunes great memories glad to have been apart of the scene ...❤❤
Thanks again for your time Stephen, must take a lot of it doing these videos. Amaro is reasonably priced in comparison with the Manchester area bet the food tastes better too! Blackpool is very keen on concrete and tarmac do wish they would lay off a bit and think about things a bit more. Did not know there were gardens round what now is Blackpool church what is up with the council removing them.😊😊😊
Glasgow has Friday and Monday off for schools etc, but Edinburgh, amongst other council areas only have the Monday off only. The traditional (going to Blackpool) September Weekend holiday in Scotland marked the halfway point between school summer holidays and school Christmas holidays, as Scottish schools start back mid August.
Hello Stephen I believe that the new tramway system is scheduled to be opening along with the new holiday Inn Hotel around Easter 2024 Thanks for your latest video
Wet and damp there in Blackpool Stephen. I will have to let my friend who lives in Southampton know about Ziggy’s bar, he is David Bowie mad. Nice walkabout albeit a wet one.
Would love you to do a video of working mens clubs past and present. I can remember going to St Anne's wmc and The railway wmc as a small boy in the 70's. Happy days.
Another great video Stephen and it's an unofficial holiday up here, but many shops are closed from the Friday. How about videos of you storm chasing as long as you're not in any danger.
The building on the corner of Cookson street and Caunce street used to be a coffee bar called "The Talk of The Town" circa late 60's. spent some time in there in my younger days. It then changed to a music shop selling guitars and stuff.not sure of the name.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always loved that tour love the town centre 17 days i will be back beautiful Blackpool tower ❤ have a great evening xx
Apparently Sinatra never played the Hippodrome. He made one appearance in Blackpool, and that was at the opera house where he played 2 shows in July 1953
We came to Blackpool on Saturday and enjoyed a fine dry day. Walked around the area between Central and North Piers. Staff in the rock making shop said the season had been poor with fewer visitors this year. A sign of economic problems 😢
2.17 it was a large prefab called Blackpool Sound Centre. Sold musical instruments and was a bit of a hub in the 80s. Had some good evenings there listening to local bands rehearsing before they went off and did their gigs in the town centre. Thanks for battling the rain Stephen - keep them coming!
Great video Stephen, travelled down from Scotland down to my beloved BLACKPOOL at the weekend to see the team hammer Reading 4-1 , best Game of the season so far, here's hoping for many more results like this.
That golf shop was there for such a long time , I was dragged into it every year while on holiday. Its called the Glasgow weekend because not all cities get the same Bank holiday.
We would never venture into the night bars...we are old lol.both 63.....we just choose the Hotel Sheraton and enjoy their entertainment..during the day ..Blackpool but its circular walk aroundish....Cleveleys as lovely x Fleetwood yuk but the market is ok....Affinity there is great for bargains
When I was in Blackpool in 2018 The Regent was hosted a number of rather interesting collectibles departments. Is it a cinema again? Your comment on The Winter Gardens really is very pertinent. So elegant, so admirable. In contrast, I am sorry to say that I think much of the centre of Blackpool is, to put it politely, less appealing. I think of your video of yesterday, showing how attractive much of the route from Lytham to Blackpool is. The Grand Theatre looks very elegant. I bet, and hope, that the interior is lovely, too. When I was a small lad about seventy years ago Mum, Dad, Granny and Grandad would take us kids to Blackpool and we would usually have a very good meal in The Lobster Pot restaurant. I remember it very fondly! I think it was in that street somewhere near the end of your video.
I try to watch all your videos because they are always interesting. Is the Revolution where the Lobster Pot used to be? It does seem strange that a building with a basement getting light from glass bricks would allow the glass bricks to be tarmacked over.
Looking horrendous weather fr wednesday in parts scotland great vid stephen well now unfortunately winter round corner its bn horrible summer fr most people fing x not to bad winter fr us all
Great video Stephen 👍 we lived in Blackpool late 80s early 90s. Did Ceasers on Cedar Sq used to be La Piazza? If so, we had many a great meal in there. 😉
Glasgow people call it September weekend , different areas have it the week before or after Glasgow , so that's probably why its called Glasgow weekend in Blackpool.
Cookson looks rough U seen the prices Bet aldi and lidl will offer an alternative Then u can collect u order at munchbox Topping street looks ok Regent cinema friday def worth going too
It's Glasgow September weekend. Last local holiday before Xmas. Traditionally covers Friday to Monday, whatever weekd. Is nearest the 23rd. Not a bank holiday though, just a local one specific to Glasgow & surrounding towns/areas
Traditionally th last Monday of September is the Glasgow bank holiday and over the years an awful lot of Glaswegians travelled to Blackpool for the last holiday of the year. Edinburgh has their holiday weekend the week before. Hope this helps you out Stephen.
Hi Stephen great video as always Darren has sent me a pic of you & him ok a Question for Mr Blackpool here in Leeds we have lot's of Blue plaques hunt Do you know where they all are in Blackpool thanks mate as we have a Blue Plaques Trail

Clifton Hotel is now Forshaws. I believe they have restarted testing on the Trams between North Pier and North Startion.
Great video again. Like many things Glasgow weekend is nothing to what it used to be.
Hi Stephen, so the weekend that's just past is called September weekend in Glasgow. The Monday (today) is a local holiday. Xx
Good evening Stephen it looks very quiet at the moment it should liven up laters, I had a cracking time in Blackpool last week 😊
Hi mate I was here a month ago . I'm from Wales . I came here on a bus trip . I come every year . Me and my wife love it here.. we always watch your videos .

Some bits of Blackpool maybe a bit shabby but it still has some beautiful buildings.😃

Stanley Arms....used to be a great student pub back in my day but never rowdy. Thought I was quite brave with my half pint of shandy😁
Wet and damp there in Blackpool Stephen. I will have to let my friend who lives in Southampton know about Ziggy’s bar, he is David Bowie mad. Nice walkabout albeit a wet one.
thanks Stephen for another great video ☂️🌧️
Great video Stephen. The quality of the pictures and audio in that heavy rain and wind are superb. Thank you for braving the weather to entertain us.
Would love you to do a video of working mens clubs past and present. I can remember going to St Anne's wmc and The railway wmc as a small boy in the 70's. Happy days.
Years ago when the people of Glasgow descended on Blackpool they visited for two weeks ….it was called the Glasgow fair I believe!
Hi from CANADA 11 Celsius here and sunny.
Stormy dreich weather here in Scotland too 🐶🏴☀️Aye it’s September weekend
You should go inside the Grand …it’s absolutely beautiful!
Another great video Stephen and it's an unofficial holiday up here, but many shops are closed from the Friday. How about videos of you storm chasing as long as you're not in any danger.

Great video Stephen, travelled down from Scotland down to my beloved BLACKPOOL at the weekend to see the team hammer Reading 4-1 , best Game of the season so far, here's hoping for many more results like this.

I wonder what they did with the glass bricks.
I would assume they covered over them. Otherwise the void would be difficult to fill in.
The wine bar by the fountain (Le Plonk) is good Stephen. Really nice place 😊
I'm up this weekend coming, pack a jumper and coat but looking forward for a break
Looking horrendous weather fr wednesday in parts scotland great vid stephen well now unfortunately winter round corner its bn horrible summer fr most people fing x not to bad winter fr us all

There was someone Scottish people in Llandudno when we visited there at the weekend
That little street off Market Street is not Hill Street, but West Street.
I have never been to Blackpool during the September Weekend i know alot of people who do. We usually go at the October School week.
Glasgow people call it September weekend , different areas have it the week before or after Glasgow , so that's probably why its called Glasgow weekend in Blackpool.
