Actually, the button is not only an on-off switch. It also doubles as a 'pause' button for whatever is being streamed to it from the smart-phone, which is a really handy feature: quick press = pause, long press = on/off. I just bought one and am really impressed. It's not suited to bass-heads, because its tone is biased towards treble, but that makes it excellent for listening to audiobooks. Incidentally, I managed to increase the maximum volume from my smart-phone by following the advice given on another video entitled: 'Make Your Android Bluetooth Audio Volume LOUDER'.
Cool and good to know. Yeah, you can "overclock" your audio but it tends to create lots of distortion and clipping. How are you finding it in practice?
@@AskDaveTaylor It's really good - clearer than more expensive ones I've tried. With the increased audio level from the phone, the speaker is not distorting. I also managed to push the levels even higher by using an equaliser app, and it still remained clear.
they are much better in a stereo pair, get 2 and no lagg when watch videos. Bass is lacking but it is a small speaker, mids and highs are good. Try them at the ends of your arm rest.
Loved your video! I bought a bunch of these for friends as party favors after your video yesterday! tip : keep the wind filter on your mic its rubbing on your shirt and causing static sounds.
I hung it in my shower under the showerhead with a free bit of IKEA nylon cord. It's plenty loud for me. I use the VLC Client app. I charge it once a month, but it has never gone dead. I'm not an audiophile. I have pretty good hearing, so it might not work for everyone.
You focus on the price , but the reality is , this is a very low volume speaker. Tested it myself at an ikea store i could not hear at max volume , unless, it was 20cm from my ear! Its practically useless in real life conditions

Thanks. I know about the mic rubbing against my shirt. It's just that one shirt, it just lays a bit oddly on me. Ah well, wasn't too bad, I hope!
Is there a teardown. Thinking ahead to the
Death of the battery.
It's a single 2600mAh 18650 cell on a 3 wire connector?? You can see in the FCC documents

Good to know. Now, what do you listen to while you're showering? :-)

I don't know what your setup was, but I found that it had quite good volume for a speaker of its size.
