When buying an electric guitar, as long as it's not some off brand chinese brand (even those can work though) you can always clean them up, set them up, and swap hardware for cheaper than buying a new guitar. Look up Jim Lill's video on where guitar tone comes from. Squier strats are amazing for this.

@@lemau8458 100% agree beefing Squires up is fun especially when you build something better than a regular Fender. This video was made more for the beginners out their looking for their first guitar experience though

If a guitar feels looks and sounds good you’re more likely going to keep coming back… at the very least you can get some of your money back selling a quality guitar if worse comes to worse💁🏽‍♂️

@@imalright2837 the reselling point was something I didn't even think about, but you're so right. I knew a guy who couldn't get rid of his Johnson brand accoustic for 50 bucks when he paid like $150 at a pawn shop

My luthier has seen all my instruments fresh out of the box, except my first electric guitar. It was once a second hand Stagg, it's now a custom. 😂 I can honestly say I've had alot of fun doing things I would never do to an expensive guitar. In fact, I know what to ask my luthier to do, because I went crazy on a cheap guitar. From fixing the frets to downright disrespectfully reshaping the headstock and staining the whole thing black.
You should 100% buy a cheap guitar, just for fun.

@@ericdpeerik3928 I always love seeing crazy builds on the lower end guitars. Unfortunately for some folks starting out, they may not understand that their shitars need work before they're worth playing and end up giving up playing altogether. This video was made more for them.

@SammyHallOfficial well, that's fair. If you can only have 1, get the best one you can afford.
Nothing will stop you playing faster than sharp frets, or "it doesn't sound right".

So ig epiphones, squires, some jacksons and ltd's are all out the window

@@LandoBassMan I love the cheap stuff. The video's more about the really cheap stuff that shouldn't be sold like the amazon guitars. I hate seeing people try to learn on those terrible excuses for instruments. More often they give up because they're frustrated. It's kind of a clickbaity deal, but youtube only wants clickbaity things, I hope you understand

Funny, the £100 Harley Benton i picked up plays and feels better than my 2004 gibson. Name brands are just that, brands. Sometimes you'll get a great budget instrument from a company who cares...
Theres definitely a difference between budget and outright bad and you should make that more clear in your video imo
