    Thanks once again Tim! Ironically these are how I came to know of your channel! 😆 I was researching online about “dive-bombers” because I had no idea if I was ever doing them correctly ....since I stole them from a Navy Seal workout in Men’s Health 20 some years ago when I was a ballerina in NYC (before RUclips and internet luxuries) ...then, online I saw your priori video you made on them once I found out dive-bombers are a version of Hindu pushups from a different platform.....Now.... the journey continues and you are leading me to bigger, and more beautiful things! ❤️🙏🏻 like this book you are talking about! (Your book 😊)
    Thanks again,
    Keep inspiring and being inspired!
    Julie

      Thanks for writing, Julie. Dive bombers are no joke! They'll work you, but personally, I just think the Hindu Pushup feels so much better. As a ballerina, I can see how you'd be drawn to either of them as they allow you to flow through the movement. That's why I like these so much, they flow.
      I hope you have a wonderful journey full of amazing discoveries! If you do get the book, feel free to let me know if you try any of the concepts. I'd love to hear from you.

      I learned them many years ago from Matt Furey, in a book called Combat Conditioning. He was a wrestler, one of the best. The Hindu Squats and Pushups are really popular with wrestlers. They are also like yoga movements at speed. I've seen very old footage of very mature yogis doing these movements too. They are wonderful movements.

    I will have "Pressing Reset: Original Strength Reloaded" delivered to me tomorrow.
    I don´t know exactly what to expect from it, but I really like your videos because they are useful and fun to apply in practice.
    Your way of looking at physical health/longevity really makes sense to me.
    That is why I´m confident that I will find interesting information and ideas in the book.
    However, I would like to know more about your 21 day routine, Is there a special order/variation of movements that you use, or do you just pick one and do it for 21 days?
    Currently I´m playing with the scorpion/frog roll daily, and I try to come up with my own movements and routines, as I discover the marvellous design of the body.
    I find the rolling especially helpful when lifting weights, as it teaches the body to follow a natural movement pattern, instead of falling into a faulty one that would lead to injury under a heavy load.
    I have also come to understand the importance of deep breathing, and that is something that just cannot be praised enough.
    Who would have thought that one could reach such joy and understanding from mere play alone?
    Life really is beautiful, once you see the simplicity of it.
    Thank you for providing others the opportunity to learn so much, keep up the good work!

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  3 года назад +1

      Oh man, You’re there - at a gateway. I think there is much more behind what you’ve written, what you’ve learned and discovered. I’m guessing you’re having quite the adventure. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. I think you’ll find a lot in Pressing Reset, nuances, affirmations, “oh’s”...
      I do hope you’ll write back and tell me what you discover along the way.
      As for the 21’s. That’s a daily movement program I put together through the lens of OS, The Tibetan Rites, and biology. Looking at the movement design and the bodies ability to maintain itself. It’s a handful of movements done 21 repetitions each. It may take 10 to 30 minutes depending on how you approach it or where your ability is at. It’s essentially what you are learning how to do now. Play, explore, create. You’ve got it my friend.
      Really, thank you. Your comment is very uplifting and I’m excited about your journey.

    Hi Tim,

      I’m not sure I totally understand your question. But, at the start, in the rock back position, I have air in my lungs. On the dive down, I breathe out. Pushing back into the rock, I breathe in. BUT just to explore, sometimes I do it completely opposite of that.

      I guess the difference would be intent and tension. On the knees, the rocking Hindu pushup offers less tension, yet more range of motion in the hips, and knees. Elevated, it’s a whole new movement. The traditional Hindu doesn’t really involve the knee joint and would also hit the shoulders and chest at a different angle. Just variations.

      From a muscular standpoint? I wouldn’t think so. But if your asking from a body circumference standpoint due to body fat, then they could be a helpful tool, though diet would be the king there. I apologize if I am not understanding your question.

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  2 года назад

      The main thing is to breathe. You can inhale on the way back and exhale on the dive and push, OR, you can reverse that. Just don’t hold your breath and breathe to the movement.

      Maybe try reducing the range of motion, or the speed of motion, to see where you can move without moving into pain. If there is a pain free range of motion or speed, stay in that range for now.
