The Olympic area is what I expect from you guys and girls, top notch but, no Bing Dwen Dwen or Shuey Rhon Rhon although the latter is for the Paralympics I think which wouldn’t have started yet. At the start of your Night walk in Shichahai Lake the way the trees are lit and the surroundings of the river and the old style structure with neon lights it gave it quite an enchanting look. Thanks for uploading this vlog! It was great to see BJ again and to see how it has changed since I left China in 2019. The most striking thing for me is the absence of crowds, especially around, Houhai and Xidan Shopping Mall, and how utterly commercialized 前门街 has become compared to its old bustling self. Its hutongs have disappeared and it has lost its old charm to be replaced by upscale malls and fancy boutiques (similar to what happened with the Yashow market in Sanlitun) . The only place that appears unchanged is Galaxy SOHO which even back in 2019 had no crowds as I don't think it can compete with Sanlitun (三里屯) SOHO. All of this is just my opinion of course but I am grateful to you for uploading this vlog . Beijing is a GREAT city and I loved living there. Hope to go back very soon.
