The girl he’s been in love with his whole life is finally telling him all the things he’s ever wanted to hear, which makes fulfilling his dream of moving to the DR much harder, so he’s trying to act as if everything Vanessa is saying to him is no big deal. That’s how I saw it anyway

I love how you used Melissa Barrera and Anthony Ramos in this scene but used the original In The Heights scene for the animatic (since in the play they were in the bodega, and in the movie, they were in Usnavi's apartment). Also, I love this scene more than the actual movie and play, mainly because I've always preferred animated musicals And seeing animated Vanessa rip the champagne cork (twisty thing?) off like it was nothing and then chugging it is hilarious to me.
I love how you transitioned to color when they kissed. And the fade out from the color was all the more sad! You really captured the scene. Keep up the great work!
The movement (including "camera" angles) and the expressions are really great, and I'm super impressed that you included Vanessa's reflection in the window.

I loved this so much. It feels like every angle the animatic is shot at works, and there is the perfect amount of layering in the background so there is detail but not distraction. Also each of the characters movements is sooo fluid.
