I assure you, before 2004, there was no Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. Sox fans would talk about a few players, heart breaks, and curse of the Bambino. That was it. No Yankee fan gave a crap about beating them either. The only thing this current rivalry has done was marginalize all the other teams and help to ruin national interest in the sport.
