|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.
Congratulations on passing your tests and buying a home. Also - llama is more like alpaca than wool (it's in the same animal family as alpaca). In my experience it's drapier but also heavier so it benefits from being combined with other fibres.
Congratulations on your comprehensive completion!
I would love you to give some details on where you look for your thrifted yarn. You got so much great yarn for incredible prices.
I’ll try and make a video on this!
Love the mohair. You could put the whole cone into the freezer for a week or so and that would kill absolutely anything that was in there. Might save you a bit of time and effort as winding off, weighing and washing is no easy task. I’ve done something like that a few times and it’s not as quick as you think. And I would just sell it to someone who wanted to buy the whole cone. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your channel 🥰
So happy there’s a new podcast love you thank you for making these wonderful podcasts you are one of my favorites. And beautiful top oh my goodness you have skills girl And congrats on your PhD yay!!!!!!
Thanks so much! 🥰
Wow- so many lovely WIPS. I love the Tulip sweater and have been wanting to make one myself. Looking forward to seeing how yours comes out. Congrats on the new house!
I'm so excited to find a fellow historian/ knitter 😅 I really loved the video and all your knits. For row gauge try changing needles material, same size just different material, it will make a difference!!
This is a great idea! Thank you!
Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont has a yarn called Mountain Mohair (30% mohair, 70% wool) that you may be interested in, it is gorgeous yarn!
Congratulations on your new house
How soft is the Wellington that you got in Kitchener? I have my eye on it and looove the look of yours but I'm a little mohair sensitive! Love the episode :)
Lovely episode and congrats on the new house! FYI the Amble sock yarn is from The Fibre Co from the U.K. one of my fav yarn company’s 😊
Glad to hear you love it!!
I have the tall stitch problem to! I have no idea how to fix it though so if you figure it out please share! 😃
Congratulations! 💐💐💐
Congratulations on passing your exams and getting your own home
Congratulations on becoming a homeowner, so exciting! I went to Creative Knitter on Local Yarn Shop day. I don't think I was expecting much as a friend commented on it being small, but what a nice surprise!...lots to offer and very friendly. I bought wool to make a Sock Arms Sweater. With both of your birthdays coming up, if you want to splurge, I recommend dinner at the Twisted Lemon in Cayuga. We were supposed to go on Friday but had to cancel due to us both getting covid.
Thanks for the recommendation! I hope you both feel better soon
Omg i just finished my balloon cardi but I had also made a mistake where I was only increasing every other time I was supposed to! I had to frog the whole way back and it was awful. I do love my finished object but I basically had to knit the yoke twice!!
Oh my goodness I so feel this pain! Hope it turned out lovely none the less!
Congratulations on buying a new home. I too live close to galt house of yarn....
Congratulations on buying a house!
Congratulations on taking the PhD! This is a huge accomplishment! I graduated 2 Masters degrees and defending the dissertation was the least favorite thing about it 😊
Haha I didn’t find the defence too bad! I like to talk 😉 what are your degrees in?
@@kuriaknits Congratulations once again, I graduated a Master in Languages and second in International Relations
Maybe you should keep a very small amount of the mohair just in case something goes wrong with your sweater
I plan to!
Hi Erin,
I'm very interested in the mohair for sale. Thanks,
Beautiful sweaters! Cognac is pronounced coneyak
Lol thanks!
7000 years though
Gucci gives you an idea of quality? Everything made in sweatshops screams fast fashion to me ... But your piece looks very very nice!
Does gucci not have sustainable practices!? Why the price then 😓
@@kuriaknits from what I remember they do have HQ sustainable practices but still outsource the sewing to developing countries often times the same factory as fast-fashion brands... I have to Google it further to learn more but this is what I know at the moment
Congratulations for passing🙂
