    Ahlan ya Ustaz Rami. Alf shukr lil video! It is super interesting.
    I'm currently writing a paper for one of my linguistics classes which is about the way you pronounce the R in the Moslawi dialect and some other Iraqi dialects. My claim is that this is typical for Mesopotamia because there is also evidence that R was pronounced like this in Akkadian thousands of years ago, and probably in Aramaic as well.
    I've already read articles about Iraqi dialects with this kind of guttural R, but it is so cool to actually hear it from an Iraqi.
    All the best!

    Interestingly, Baghdadi Jews' speech is similar to Moslawi in its pronunciation of ر and ق, but some other aspects you mentioned aren't, like the word carpet. So I guess you kind of speak like a Jew. Do you also pronounce ظand ث ذ like in Fusha?

    • @ramitheiraqi2257
      @ramitheiraqi2257  3 года назад

      Yes possibly lots of similarities. And yes we pronounce the letters u mentioned like in fusha

    Some of Moslawi words have the Assyrian origin. Example هدي (slowly) in Assyrian is the same word, غشع in Assyrian we گشق (Look) and دودية (Swing) in Assyrian we call a baby cradle دودية

    Seems like Moslawis are the French of Iraq :)
    Any thought where the pronunciation difference come from? I've never heard of any other Arabic dialect that pronounce R as the French.

    • @ramitheiraqi2257
      @ramitheiraqi2257  3 года назад +3

      Yea lol. I would say it’s closer to Levantine Arabic. But I am not sure where it came from
