Definitely have to go through the prices Danni. A lot of those things were priced pretty high. A lot were priced fair but I think they need you to take a look at them yourself. Love the store tho it’s great and I know everything will fall into place 😊💕
Yes I concur with you that many items were priced full on or near to retail....if donations are steady and product readily available then pricing should probably be more enticing to customers so they will return to see what's new on the shelves as opposed to the items sitting too long on the shelves and customers identifying them as such. Truly wishing ALL of you the best success with the store/boutiques.
I think you’ll have to decide if you want to make money for your charities or cater to resellers. If you price for resellers, you will be doing all the work and the resellers will make the profit. Let the resellers shop on discount days!
I love the idea of your store and what you are trying so hard to implement. However, I was afraid the prices were too high when people weren't buying much in the soft Grand opening videos I watched. You have one shot at this. You stood firm that prices would be reseller friendly and more affordable than Goodwill, you have to make good on that so you build happy repeat customers, not disappointed customers who by word of mouth will tell others it isn't so good. I wish you all the luck in the world. I am saying this out of love and it is just my honest observation. The great thing is, you just opened and have time to step in and fix it before it becomes something you cannot undo. :)
@@dotsonms I don't think she's being greedy. Remember, she doesn't do the initial pricing on the thrift store items. And she said she would be going back a and adjusting some of the prices.
We have had phenomenal sales for a new store! Better than expected so it is really resellers items we are having to come up with the plan for. It's not easy!
I am going to say something that really is none of my business, but I think the area you have blocked off (steps) to your area really looks crowded/junky.... but, in my thinking, if you moved that white bookcase over that is close to the steps and used it to close off access to the steps to your area, it would look much nicer, for what it is worth.
Love the “Danni’s picks” idea!! You go, girl! Hi, precious Noah. All my love to you Danni and your dream maker team, your incredible kids and all of the babies in your Danni Sanctuary of love!!!💜💜💜
I think the prices you said were a little high to, but worry you might offend your workers by saying it on camera. I opened a consignment store with my 2 best girlfriends and sadly lost one forever and I am a people pleaser and still have my other friend of 40yrs thank God. But there is a whole different issue to working together and being the boss as I was. We all had alot to learn together. I know you have the experience to know your prices and love to teach but at the same time your employees want to please you and may have a reason that they priced something at that price, may have stayed late to get it done, you just never know. Just my 2 cents😉 A weekly store meeting and appreciation day for your employees goes a long ways.....
We are a work in progress! Rebecca is bringing in many years of thrift store management experience and I am bringing in many years of reseller experience to find the sweet spot for all! This has nothing to do with experience! Rebecca and I are a team in coming up with the right mix and pricing.
From what I have seen of your manager your lucky to have her and her experience the best of both worlds, with her knowledge of the retail side of the business and your as the consumer you got your bases covered. It's amazing team work to see all that you all have accomplished in such a short time. It's like you have a new baby and you can read a million books, bit until your baby shows you what it needs, you don't always know what to give it, even with best intentions and all the planning in the world. Your logo will do you well. Get shop done, have fun and make ot profitable 📈 😀 💗👩🦲
I'm glad ur spotting the teething problems and that's all they are. You rise to any challenge Danni I'm sure it won't take you long to figure what works and what doesn't. Xx
Thank you " star of the show DANNI" 🎉For hours of entertainment!! I like the comedic action between you and KARI !😅!!, Jordan, Sunny&,Mikey. So sorry to see them go. And your awesome children are a delight🎉
I think with the colour tag system in place, it’s better to price higher than you’d want to pay just in case someone who isn’t reselling wants to pay that much. As the price goes down, then it’s a chance for a reseller or someone else to get a better deal. Also, it is a balance of getting as much as you can for the non-profits and providing a reseller friendly experience so starting higher seems like the right thing to do. Just my opinion.
I feel that when representing a nonprofit organization it is no longer about a person and the fact that they are the owner should be tamed down. The prices are to make money for the non profits not for the reseller's benefit. Your focus is a little off. I hope that people continue to donate with the needy in mind not the resellers.
Wow! What a difference when you shop your own shelves. You NEVER look at the collector's plates in the other stores but you picked them and highlighted them in your own store. Just one example.
The store looks wonderful but I fear the prices in general are really high. The prices seem to be goodwill prices or higher instead of a reseller price. I hope you can work with your manager to make the prices more competitive and appealing for a thrift store instead of a boutique(and so you can move inventory and be a huge success)! :)
Really nice lay-out of the store. Love it. There seems to be more room to shop than your typical store. Prices do seem to be pretty high for being a thrift store. I think most people are upset that Goodwill prices seem to be increasing more & more but, Goodwill prices seem to be a bit lower than the prices there. I know Danni said she doesn't make the prices but, it is HER store and, it's gonna reflect bad on her. Plus, if I'm shopping at Goodwill & see some things I would like to buy but don't have the money at that moment & then go to another thrift store & see that same things priced even higher, I likely wouldn't go back to that thrift store. I think a "thrift" store should have thrift store prices & for everyone, not just resellers. I guess there's a line between being a thrift store & being a resale shop when it comes to pricing. I don't think people would like to know you bought something at Goodwill prices & just jacked up the price to sell at another thrift store. As in people who aren't resellers get upset resellers at Goodwill who they know are just gonna increase the price to sell somewhere else. We know resellers aren't the only reason Goodwill has increased their prices but, if it bothers people who aren't resellers; I'm not gonna make it obvious I'm a reseller to others & make things uncomfortable. I think it's just being courteous. Just like, I wouldn't go into Danni's store & grab up all the good deals & let everyone know I'm gonna take those good deals, increase the price & make money off the items. I wouldn't want to know that just because someone is a reseller they're going to get a better price. That's going to turn other people off, I would think. I guess I just think some couth goes a long way. I am a reseller but, if I wasn't, I would not go to a store that gives some people a better deal than me. I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh but, being honest, I believe, is the only way we can all learn. Some people seem to think just because Danni considers herself a "teacher", that she knows everything better than everyone else & no one can suggest anything to her. She is a grown-a$$ woman & doesn't need defending just because others may have a different view about things. Most people aren't trying to offend her, just trying to suggest a different point of view.
I just wanted to share that I have had Covid all week and your videos have kept me in the game. I’m beginning to feel better. Ty for your smile, your positivity and if I had a Xmas tree and lived near you, I would surprise you and put it up. Have the most warm and wonderful Christmas. Beth
At 10:27 when you mentioned that you don’t drink wine in your house, that stand would be awesome for someone who does crafting and perhaps has a collection of vinyl and faux leather for a cricut machine. Would be a great storage container.
Hi Danni...wow...this is such a wonderful and brave undertaking (and not one that many would take-on,) and your dream to have such a store where resellers can come and find items that are affordable enough that they can flip for a decent profit and to "learn the business" is great! You've got such a big heart and are such a helper. I'll just throw out a maxim of wisdom that I read recently, and I'm trying to keep it in mind for myself (bc my heart often gets too far ahead of my head) and maybe it might ring true for you too,(and I'm paraphrasing.) "Contentment comes when our heart agrees with our head." If you haven't already, I hope you've gotten some advising with a business manager who can help keep you on a financial track of what is realistically possible. Because, as you know, no matter the good you seek to do, continuing with any business, non profit or for profit, depends on the cold, hard numbers at the end of the day (or month or year.) I think you're off to a great start and like another commenter said, since you've just started, you have time to make any adjustments needed...to refocus or even make big changes. Again, I'm wishing you great success and that this new exciting journey will be everything you've worked so hard for it to become! God bless!
Store looks great, I left a few comments from my own experiences and should have stated that, but honestly was trying to be helpful as I so want to see you succeed! That store looks amazing and I love it. As a customer I love to see when the tags don't cover the info on the bottom and when things like candlesticks etc have one price and aren't priced separately. All IMO of course😃
Lookin good Danni! I like that you are keeping track of pricing and inventory personally also. A great manager is a treasure but for you this business is about more than making money and your hand needs to be kept in there! (Just remember to not assume all your staff - even family - knows how happy you are with them! ) Loving ❤️. The Danni picks! Glad you Are you going to use that group to start your Monday store What Not! Some crazy nice picks there! Luv ya!
I have been going with you,on your ventures to the different Goodwill stores. And have learned so much about different things that are vintage, antiques etc.Things that at my age of 71yrs old. Had never even considered them as treasures. But going with you,as you went through your store. Was let me say was" WELCOME HOME " !
Liked this video & the Danni picks shelf. Some prices are a bit high but not everything is, so that's good. I can see where getting your standardized item pricing will be beneficial in the future.
Danni, you are doing a great job! Your dream is happening! I love watching you! Your videos are instructive and uplifting! When I can't sleep I watch your old videos!! ❤️
I wish you strength in your new endeavor Danni. I watch you everyday along with Mikey , Sonny, and Crystal. I’m watching to see how everything progresses with a group of friends involved. I wish you much success. I also love Carey 😂 Keep up with the merchandise tweaking very important to keep customers coming back 😊👍 Merry Christmas to everyone 🎄
I loved this video! Love your store and it's so fun to see what you would pick for resale! I honestly don't get what some of these comments are about. Most of these things are priced really fair, as you mentioned in the video. You had a cart full of things that you would be able to resale really well! And it only proves your generosity and good intentions for this store when you mention things could be priced even lower!
Dotty Tyrrell the boutiques ( side rooms) are rented out to resellers and have different pricing, the main store is for the non profits thrift store and volunteers handle those donations
Just because 1 individual can't afford an item doesn't mean the pricing is incorrect. Some beareasonutiful items here unusual, old and desirable. No for them to be just given away.
@Living By Faith With Benji our prices are NOT very high for the area! We are under Goodwill on most things, the only area we are working out are higher end items and where to price those to make everyone happy and bring as much money to the non profits as possible. We have only been open for a couple weeks and have yet to start our color tag sales!
I've only seen two of your previous videos. Today I subscribed! I like that you sometimes pick things that aren't vintage, but get them because they are fun and stylish. At first, I didn't realize this is your store or that it's a non-profit, but once I figured it out, I pushed that button. I'm a newbie to re-sell videos, but I like your comments, editing, and especially that you are using your skills to help other people--your customers and other re-sellers. I look forward to seeing your growing success!
Looking at the items and prices it seems to me it’s the decorative and hard goods are a bit too high even compared to prices in my area in Ontario thrift stores. As well as the nonprofit I worked at.
Love love love this "Danni's Picks" shopping trip! Has been one of my favorites! Hope you'll start a Good Stuff Store "Danni's Picks" series! 28:14 Human body is from a kid's educational co. Although they still sell them today, that one did look vintage.
So fun!!! Thanks for this. I have together of here and go to bed. It's 2:27 and this old lady has to get it up at 7:00. Love yuns. Stay warm, safe and, well. :-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
The big bowl/pot at 18:00 is missing it's lid. I would take that into consideration when pricing. Just a friendly suggestion. 😊 Also, your perfume bottle at 24:18 is actually a (vinegar) cruet. Not sure that the stopper is the original one.
I firmly believe decorative plates need to be FOOD SAFE! The government office that regulates such things should make that required. One - there are people who do use them - especially when then have gotten them second hand and the sticker is gone. Who knows how much of it has lead or other chemicals flaking into their food. 2 - when people get tired of having them on their wall - they could put them to use themselves, or safely pass them on! Think of how much would stay out of landfills!
We do too. My grown kiddos and myself got my hubby a Blackstone Flat grill. He's wanted one. I bet the day after Christmas despite the cold and forecasted snow ❄ We will be firing it up. 😋
I love thrifting as well and it shows, lol. My craft room is full of boxes and I had to buy another China hutch! Found a real old one at the antique store from the late 1800's. I couldn't believe the price. 240.00. I can't wait to go back there again and see what else he has. I actually think I could be a hoarder 🤭. When I figure out how to resell then I'll give up some of my treasures. Maybe
Some of the prices were a little high,I'm sure you'll do some adjusting though. Very neat, clean, and organized. I know you don't like loud music, but some nice easy listening music for the background makes a friendly atmosphere. Merry Christmas !
Hi Danni, so pleased to see the "free" bin in your new store. We have one in the thrift store where I volunteer and it is a win-win for everyone. Our volunteers are also allowed to shop the shelves but before or after our shifts, and cannot price anything that we intend to buy. So glad that you have realized your dream.
If possible, please add to todays sale: - Blue pottery bowl with lid on shelf where you got the wood cherry bowl. - Set of 2 pottery mugs green tones at 22:47 in main room - phantom of the opera music box from the guy’s room - the ladies electric razor from main room (for me to use😉)
Also have to pay employees, the volunteers should be rewarded as well. And you have to make money as well for the non-profits. I would have special discount cards made for the resellers.
mikey and sonnys music box if its phantom of the operas "music of the night" Softly, deftly, music shall surround you Feel it, hear it closing in around you Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind In this darkness which you know you cannot fight The darkness of the music of the night
Wow. Happy new store. Absolutely love what you're doing. It's always been a dream of mine to have a thrift shop. All the best & merry xmas from Scotland.
I could really use that nebulizer..to bad I don't do what not so I could get it 🤷🏼♀️ Definitely take a double look on the pricing Danni..some things seemed over priced but most of the pricing seemed fair. Store looks great congratulations 🎉💜💯👍🏻👋🏻
Thank you, I just read your comment after writing mine. I can't help but think even constructive criticism does not belong on camera. I thought I was a great boss until I really listened to my employees. Ione of my biggest mistakes was correcting things in front of others which equated to them not feeling valued for their efforts and hard work, it's not what I meant but it's how it was taken. You can have the best store out there but if the employees are not feeling valued things as they say can go to hell in a handbag really quick, and never out of frustration with something your employee has done, share it with another first, because that's what gets that little itty ball rolling into a giant ⛄️ snowman. I speak from experience and my own mistakes. Danni has worked so hard to see her dreams come true and sometimes it's hard to delicate and pass responsibilities over because I wanted things how I wanted them, but until you can do that, you can't build the trust you will need for the long haul. All my opinions respectfully, because it's a part of a successful business that tends to get overlooked. Rooting for Danni all the way💕
Especially they may take it the wrong way because you were out shopping instead being in your store showing them your pricing idea. I know it's so hard. What is it you are putting in your cart? It's going to be GREAT
Especially on camera. Pointing out the positives your employees have accomplished will gain their respect. Pointing out the negatives would be better in private. Just a suggestion. The store looks so neat and organized.
Love the doggy and kitty pillows but I have nowhere to use them. Hard to see Lucky's pillow bed and other stuff of his. Weird to see my patterns/crocheted hats/baby clothes on the shelf. Hope they all sell and get you lots of profits. That pillow with the doggy print that was Lucky's I made in 2011. I didn't know that was going on the shelf. lol
this is the non-profit area of donations, not her boutique area or the other resellers boutiques, volunteers do the pricing off a check list, she mentioned in a previous video she would walk through the shop occasionally and double check the donations to make sure they were priced if you were a reseller to make a profit......today she is showing her viewers what she would buy elsewhere if it was another store a.k.a.Goodwill if you have questions, concerns, recommendations, do it with kindness
We had those carvel steak knives when I was a kid in the ‘60’s . The handles had a lifetime guarantee. I think my mom left them in water soaking and they cracked. She sent them back and the company repaired them. Nice memory.
@@jensherman2771 ah thanks. Yes it’s funny how some items just trigger the memories. Mom just loved those knives! We didn’t have that much when I was growing up but my mom must have had a great eye because so many of her things are now collectible.
Check the trash bins of the big stores in your center. They throw away good stuff. Good Luck with your venture. Wish I lived closer. Happy Holidays to you, your family, and your friends.
Gotta say the prices were disappointing, not just for reseller but lots of people go thrifting to buy things they couldn't otherwise afford and there was very little I would be able to afford at your store. I was at a goodwill couple days ago and much cheaper. Think a team meeting may need to be in order , because they made you look a bit silly since you went on and on about being affordable. Not trying to be rude , just my opinion. Love this video idea though , and the store looks great !
You might have to extrapolate the high prices and assume that other things might be overpriced and do a 10 or 15% or other? percent off sale. Everyone loves a sale!!
She didn't price everything in the store, the 8 "other vendors are boutiques" and price their own items and they are there to make money on their items. She was explaining the prices and how she needed to be adjusting some of the prices in this video.
No one should be made to feel like they look silly for trying and doing new things. Danni has all of my respect for trying something! Especially doing it in front of thousands of people and keyboard judges.
Your store is absolutely gorgeous

Not a perfume bottle. It’s a vinaigrette. I’m pretty sure. People used to keep it on tables. Especially in the south.

Beautiful store Dani, so very happy for you'all. I was truly thinking of your shop while I was away from you tube.
Crystal's things are real unique. Love her stuff.
Love the shopping in your store showing us items that are available! Thank you!
I wish you strength in your new endeavor Danni. I watch you everyday along with Mikey , Sonny, and Crystal. I’m watching to see how everything progresses with a group of friends involved. I wish you much success. I also love Carey 😂 Keep up with the merchandise tweaking very important to keep customers coming back 😊👍
Merry Christmas to everyone 🎄
That is not a perfume bottle at 24:20. It's a cruet.
Love your channel, your store, you, your friends, your family and your hat! I will fly 6 hours with an extra suitcase just to shop your store.
Instruct the person putting pricing tags on Not to cover the makers mark. Apply tags on the side!
It's done by volunteers from the non profits, I'm sure it's already been discussed, sounds like this video was a week ago
Love watching you shop the shelves. Great video.
Love that phantom of the Opera music box
Love the store but I couldn't afford very much. You need to have a meeting with staff to discuss pricing. Wish you the very best!
Looking at the items and prices it seems to me it’s the decorative and hard goods are a bit too high even compared to prices in my area in
Ontario thrift stores.
Great finds Dani. Your store is set up so nice and so are the other booths!
Take the wine rack you like and put it in the bathroom for rolled hand towels. It's not just for wine.
I absolutely loved this tour of the store.
Love that yellow cat cookie jar
I think your store is Awesome! Wishing you the greatest success🎉🎉🎉🥰❤️🙏🏻
The linens are much easier to shop hung up. I work at a local thrift, and we just started hanging ours up much easier, and it stays neater.
Omgoodness you need to do a Whatnot sale with all the Disney lularoo!!!!❤❤
Love all the cat cookie jars.. so cute!
My son grills outside all year round and he will be grilling a turkey on Christmas Day. Temp today is -4 degrees. We live in Minnesota.
We do too. My grown kiddos and myself got my hubby a Blackstone Flat grill. He's wanted one. I bet the day after Christmas despite the cold and forecasted snow ❄ We will be firing it up. 😋
I am so enjoying shopping with you this morning ! You all have such merchandising talent! Everything looks beautiful I want it all!
I love thrifting, wish we had more thrift store choice here in Austin
I love thrifting as well and it shows, lol. My craft room is full of boxes and I had to buy another China hutch! Found a real old one at the antique store from the late 1800's. I couldn't believe the price. 240.00. I can't wait to go back there again and see what else he has. I actually think I could be a hoarder 🤭. When I figure out how to resell then I'll give up some of my treasures. Maybe
Maybe you need to open a store yourself! 😁
Love your shop can’t wait to come and go shopping
You ladies have done amazing I admire your accomplishments!!!
I follow your channel 👏👏👏👏
You should give resellers a discount card. 🤩
That really would not be fair.
Calla lilies and Easter lilies are not the same, and French painter Edgar Degas is pronounced “duh-GAH” (silent s).
Your right about changing your prices if there to high then no one well want to come but it's a beautiful store 😁♥️
If possible, please add to todays sale:
- Blue pottery bowl with lid on shelf where you got the wood cherry bowl.
- Set of 2 pottery mugs green tones at 22:47 in main room
- phantom of the opera music box from the guy’s room
- the ladies electric razor from main room (for me to use😉)
Also have to pay employees, the volunteers should be rewarded as well. And you have to make money as well for the non-profits. I would have special discount cards made for the resellers.
Danni explained alot of that in a previous video
@@ppurgett I meant that mostly for viewers.
mikey and sonnys music box if its phantom of the operas "music of the night" Softly, deftly, music shall surround you
Feel it, hear it closing in around you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night
Store looks great congratulations 🎉💜💯👍🏻👋🏻
watch the micromanaging Danni...you don't want to lose the manager you have hired
really
@@louann4992 Exactly!
Your store is really nice. Love the Danni picks!
I didn't know that was going on the shelf. lol
Prices are too high for me. I'm not very rich though.
So fun, good idea for family birthday shopping too.
Love Noah, he is so adorable🥰
Really really like getting to see what's all the new stores under one roof. Blessings Always
Your store look great! Have a Merry Christmas and hope you have lots of success 🎄🎄🎄💜💜💜💜💜
Beautiful things
I used to have that Let it snow dish set but had no practical place to store it; so it went to Goodwill.
When you worked at Big Boy it was BNT, "Before Noah's Time".
I love the tree dog bed.
24.24 perfume bottle? Looks like our vinegar jug.
Wish I lived closer but Michigan is a bit of a trip ...love what you do !!!!
I'm also in Michigan and would love to shop at Dani's shop.
WOW I'm also a michigander
There's a few of us
Loved the video, your store looks beautiful! Great idea with Danni’s picks!💕💕💕
Danni......your son is the sweetest.....boy on you tube....
I love the cubby shelving! Also, you new eyeglasses. Lots of good stuff to buy. Everyone did great job with their displays.
I would love you tp pick 2fall gnomes that you passed up on the shelf. Thank you very much
this is the non-profit area of donations, not her boutique area or the other resellers boutiques, volunteers do the pricing off a check list, she mentioned in a previous video she would walk through the shop occasionally and double check the donations to make sure they were priced if you were a reseller to make a profit......today she is showing her viewers what she would buy elsewhere if it was another store a.k.a.Goodwill if you have questions, concerns, recommendations, do it with kindness
We had those carvel steak knives when I was a kid in the ‘60’s . The handles had a lifetime guarantee. I think my mom left them in water soaking and they cracked. She sent them back and the company repaired them. Nice memory.
I noticed the knives too! I have 3 left from when I was a kid. We still use them all the time. Very nostalgic catch!💛🎄
@@jensherman2771 ah thanks. Yes it’s funny how some items just trigger the memories. Mom just loved those knives! We didn’t have that much when I was growing up but my mom must have had a great eye because so many of her things are now collectible.
i wonder if danni picks moves super fast!! i wish i could come by and shop… sending so much love from Singapore
I saw a diamond painting kit! I want!
I'm glad you're such a woman of word! I did think some of the pricing was a bit high for the reseller market! Love the store!
Love love the cat cookie jars😍 especially the white one and the yellow and black one😍😍😍
I totally agree. I was disappointed.
@@kirstenrissling879 I just feel like the whole premise of the store has been stated many many times , those prices were a bit ridiculous
Danni this video! I loved it. Love the store! Loved the get shop done in the shop! Looking forward to the next one!
