I love how braggadocios Kuzco reacts to Pacha all "You just saved my life" with a non-chalant "so?" Like, he takes pride in the dumbest things, but the one thing he SHOULD be taking pride in, his first reaction is "meh"? It speaks a great deal to his character development how his next line is "nobody is that heartless," directly echoing Pacha.
It's okey to have that mindset, however the world has a lot of variety, and alas, that includes evil in people. Evil people come in different shapes and colors, so they can be heartless in different ways. One can think, "No one is that heartless". Nevertheless, one must be braced and on the watch for different kind of heartless people. Am I making sense? I want to make sure I am expressing myself correctly.
It was so immoral of Kuzco to leave Pacha dangling in the ropes of a dilapidated rope bridge, even leaving him to die. Pacha tried to be amicable, going so far as to make Kuzco become human again on the condition he would not demolish his village to make way for “Kuzcotopia” or a new summer home on the top of his hill. But Kuzco’s arrogance, narcissistic and flippant attitude, along with being selfish and amoral, has made him so despicable to Pacha. It’s a good thing that Kuzco would learn the error of his ways that made him seek redemption. That’s character development.
