      Lebron and Kobe had their moments like this. Don't misconstrue their prime. Lebron may not be as clutch but he would frieght train through MJ if they played. And Kobe may have shot too much, but his footwork and ethic were on MJ's level. MJ was a freak was nature, but so was Kobe and LeBron in their own right.
      Hell if A.I. was taller and had a pippen or rodman or Shaq or D.Wade or Bosh or Pau Gasol we'd be saying more about him.
      MJ is always my favorite, but playing ball and watching over the decades you can't discredit our greatness we still have today. And don't disrespect Curry either or Durant. Both have their moments and Curry evidently is STILL haven't his agasint a all time Celtics defense. Not the best, but per position very fuckin close. Carry on

      @@seanmike95 agreed with all besides LeBron freighting MJ. Plenty of people tried to intentionally harm him just because it was better to risk getting too many fouls than it was to let him score. LBJ just doesn't play against or with that level of tenacity, nor does anyone else in the current league. MJ would've been fine, esp if he could take an intentional foul from a young Shaq and walk it off, telling him 'not to apologize' for it, and that he'd 'be coming back'.

      Curry takes more 3 pts and is attempted than any other guard and makes 40% more than anyone else this league has ever scene. He performs at a level where the hardest shot is the easiest making his EFG and TS higher than freaking bigman like Shaq. Ironically though the drawback of only making 40% from 3pt shots is that you'll get less free throw trips.

      He was spoken of, and without qualification, as the best basketball player the game had ever seen (de facto) before he won a ring. (I got into watching MJ in 87-88: even my dad's generation just casually spoke of him as tho he was clearly the best.)

  • @depannist

    People think he was in his prime in the 90's because that's when he was winning rings. For those of us that saw him in the 80's, we know he was an unstoppable machine on both ends of the floor. Unmatched skills in one package. This is why we call him the goat. The six rings is cool, but watching the man play is like no other. None!
    Wilt was good, but bigger than everyone else. Kareem was kinda boring with one (very effective) shot. Magic and Bird had skill and brought drama, but Jordan was just on another level back then.
    A shell of his former self by the time the 2nd 3-peat comes around, which is the era most youngsters judge him by and simply don't know how great he was in his first 7 years before the rings.

      Shell of his former self? That's absurd. It was MUCH tougher to score in the late-90s than just about any era in history. Certainly tougher than 1987. Jordan was past his peak (the early 90s), but for him to do what he did primarily with jump shots is unreal.

      Jordan had a good jumper, but his fade away was not good. However he was by far the most athletic and skilled player. That's why Jordan is the goat, no other player has the combination of athleticism and skill like Jordan. LeBron is (probably) more athletic, however he didn't have the skill set as MJ.

    • @McFlashh

      anthony smith No. Jordan only got his head at level with the rim on one dunk (free throw line dunk). However, this many occasions where LeBron has got his head over the rim (even in high school). LeBron also weighs 50+ lbs more than Jordan, so with that extra mass it seems even more impressive.

      +m Khan 89 MJ is not the only best MJ, the reason you see 89 MJ was doing so many freaking drives to the rim is because 89 bulls were starting to spread wide open space by Pippen, Grant and Cartwright, that makes 89 MJ drives, penetrates and layups so easily. Actually 88 MJ has the same leve lof athletcism as 89, plus 88 MJ's first two steps are even more explosive, but 88 bulls' starting teammates, Oakley, Corzine and Sellers, could not effectively spread the lane space like Pippen, Grant and Cartwright did in 89 bulls. If MJ's teammates can spread the lane in 88, you would see 88 MJ doing more freaking drives and dunks easier.

    • @peacefulmind1409
      @peacefulmind1409 7 лет назад +8
