This is the last thing they've added since Golf which was late 2022. The game still needs Boxing and Baseball to have all of the sports that the original game did. We probably won't even get another one lmao. Let's just hope the next Switch Sports game has more effort put into it than this one did. They could do something like Wii Sports Resort again.
Clearly this is a game that the dev team only works on once in a while and they otherwise have other stuff to do, this definitely got no development priority. They somehow had to DELAY the Golf update, and then the next update was 2 years later. At least they didn't abandon it completely, adding more to it is good especially considering how sad and lackluster the original release was, so that's a slightly welcome surprise.

No, I don't think it took them 2 years, for me they just wanted to make people play this again. Sorta like the Booster Course Pass, except the stakes were as high as the sky in MK8DX, so they really had to cook and ad essentially a whole new game to it
Actually hyped that 3 point contest is coming back. Gonna miss the night sky and fireworks though, that was something else. VS matches will unfortunately have much less strategy involved now, as you can only pass the ball back and forth. Wish we could’ve had 3 players on each team. I understand it probably is so four people can play at once instead of two, but it’s still a bummer because so much of the strategy element goes out the window. I’m happy something new is coming out for this game. It’s actually decent as long as you don’t think about it’s predecessors too much. The only thing I really would change in Switch sports as a whole would be that when bowling online, you do all three of your throws and then watch the others. You never get any flow as it is now. Ramble over :)

More than 1.5 years for one sport to be added. We're at 8 sports now, several of them are just hitting a ball over a net, and Sports Resort still has more sports. Quantity does not equal quality, but variety and options add value.
