    really cool video, but quick question...Why mess around with the yoke and mount when you could have just bought an m10 bolt or wing nut and threaded that directly through the light bracket to the top of the speaker?

    Great video Joe! You're always coming up with awesome ideas! The camera mount is a great idea too however you might get a lot of vibration in the video. Sometimes just setting my camera on it's own tripod just near the speaker I get a lot of vibration. Keep the videos coming! :)

    Joe,
    I don’t like trusses or totems either. My speaker has two M8 threaded holes that I can mount lights too. I would like to do this. I would like one light on top of each speaker. My question to you, what two lights would you recommend? I’m fading away from weddings. I primarily do karaoke and private parties. Please help!
    Paul

    If you don't have fly points and the top of your speakers are fairly flat you can use strong outdoor use velcro strips (15lb+ hold). Trim them to size and they are very secure. Only thing is there isn't adjustments up and down like it is here when you attach using a fly point on the bracket.

    Cool we use those fixtures to light up our DJ Booths they was evenly and no hot spot which i hate LOL they also make a 100 watt version is that what you are using or the regular ones we use? please post a follow up with some footage we would love to see how this turns out knowing me I would get those clamps painted black LOL love how clean this set up looks.

    • @JSEntertainmentCo
      @JSEntertainmentCo  5 лет назад +1

      They are nice lights... you are correct about that... No hot spots. I just have the regular 30 watt version. I bought them used off ebay for under $200 for the pair, still in the box in like-new condition so I couldn't turn down that offer. I plan on getting a pair of the 100 watt versions. I'll be using them on Saturday for a rather tough gig to light. I'll definitely be doing a gig log. It's an outdoor event under a pavilion and they don't want to turn on the awful florescent lights up in the roof. I'll be shooting 22 uplights on each of the supporting poles and I'll have two wash lights on each speaker to light the dance floor and the guests on either side. Should be interesting.

      @@JSEntertainmentCo If you ever want to really take it to the next level we use the COB Cannon Wash ST it's a little pricey but wow the colors, coverage etc.. is amazing we use two of those with two UV COB Cannons and it just look great when we do photography or video it makes the pictures look awesome... thanks for the Tip I really like your idea i'm going to see if B & H has these parts in Black LOL.

    • @enriquegonzalez4791

      You’d have to get a 1-3/8 pin with a 3/8 tread like the ones you put on top of a Totem.

    I am running QSC CP8 speakers with a Bose Sub1. The CP8's have a threaded hole in the centre of the handle. I think your speakers have the same. Why not just use that hole to mount 1 light in the centre?

    • @enriquegonzalez4791
      @enriquegonzalez4791 Год назад

      That’s exactly what I do! I have an LED park on each k12.2 and sometimes a KINTA FX. I haven’t risked to try a moving head or similar.

  • @DJFrancisco
    @DJFrancisco 5 лет назад +1

    You read my mind on that last option, to add a camera mount to it and put a gopro or regular camera, the only thing would need a remote control to run the camera..

    My simpler method if anyone's interested: search "stud knob" on Amazon. Place the light fixture directly on top of the speaker and tighten the bolt in with no tools!

    Do you find your speakers tilt by only having one light on one side? I imagine it could look a little wonky due to the asymmetrical weighting.

    • @JSEntertainmentCo
      @JSEntertainmentCo  4 года назад

      Only my original K12's do because the pole socket has some wiggle room in it. All my k.2 speakers don't tilt.
