+atiboyful, I am not belittling Jonathan. I agree entirely that he is the makings of a world-class tenor, and will surely continue his training and continue to delight us for many years.
But to say that he carries his deep notes LONGER than Pavarotti is simply not true. I checked some recordings of Pavarotti when he was in his prime, and counted the seconds to see if you were correct. I was prepared to be amazed. But when I checked it out, it was not the case. That is why I made the statement so definitely.
Let's agree that we disagree in a humble fashion! I stand behind my comments that Jonathan is a deep tenor unlike Luciano. I guess we have to judge them separate on their voices!

Yes, Sonya, Jonathan's voice control is much improved, also his timid nature has been diminished to some acceptable extent. I am guessing he is in the hands of an excellent voice control tutor. Appearing at venues that attract the great Placido Domingo would provide him with suitable recognition. A prior to this comment above says it all about Placido the father and his adoration shone upon Placido his 19-year-old son, this in itself was very warming to the heart.

Maybe so, but Jonathan is still very young and he can only improve (Wow!); I will witness him live in Leeds on 18/01/2016. He has a depth in his tenor voice (smooth like baritone) that I have not heard since Pavarotti. He has a natural power voice as opposed to most tenors whom have a trained voice, the difference is rather compelling. Bravo Jonathan.

Very impressive to be singing that well at the age of 19. On RUclips somewhere you can hear a rare recording of Mario Lanza aged 19. Obviously, the two voices are very different, but the level of ability at the same age is so impressive. Lanza of course used to listen to recordings of Enrico Caruso and other great tenors. No doubt young Jonathan is listening to all the 20th century greats, not to copy them, but to learn from them...Caruso, Gigli, Bjorling, Corelli, di Stefano, Gedda, Fritz Wunderlich, Pavarotti etc. Good to hear that his young career is going so well. Credit too to his friend Charlotte who encouraged him to join her on Britain's Got Talent in the first place. For Jonathan, it seems that music has been and is the best way to deal with his depression and low self-esteem. My own form of depression is certainly greatly helped by playing the two musical instruments that I can play, and listening to great music is another favourite activity. I wish Jonathan every success...it has gone very well for him so far.
Mario lanza was the first to bring opera to the so called common people and cross over into more popular music from memory....i may be wrong but the 1st i can think of.

Maybe it was a matter of balance, except near the end, if it had not been for Jonathan's powerful voice, the orchestra would have drowned him out.
The camera work on this festival was poor.
Why didn't Placido Domingo sing a duet with Jonathan? I guess, he would have gone down?!
F. Lindy Jonathan Antoine is not Italian and there is snobbery, at least he recognized that he could fill the hall by having Jonathan on the program as a featured artist. But by pairing him with Placido, jr., Senior is saying: "Jonathan, you are not in my league, NEVER!" He's right, Jonathan is better than Placido, Sr. To sing with him would hurt Placido's self-respect. Jonathan is a voice which comes along once in a century.
We were fortunate to have Pavarotti but Jonathan is yet young and is marvelous and sounds seasoned. We can expect great things from him. He could get more people interested in good music again as his voice is so incredible.
But his stage presence is like a seasoned performer, his hand gestures are spot on. You can see how the musicians play for him, they are blown away also.

It was special to see Placido and his son duet together. I follow the career of the amazing young British Tenor Jonathan Antoine who was only 19 yrs old when I filmed this. Now at 23 yrs his voice is quite phenomenal. I hope you enjoy.

No, but they have different projects and decide that an new project together will not make sence at the moment. They are still good friends.
No one was dumped. After 2 albums and tour together, SONY offered them each a Solo Contract. Charlotte's album was released first. After, she decided to return to Music Art's School, and graduated. She now has a successful career in Musical Theatre, which was always her dream, and has performed in London's West End! Both are doing what they love.
why bother putting this on with such poor sound ,,
Try listening on a device that has better speakers. On my own expensive laptop the speakers are very poor, tin type sound and very little volume. Yet my same amateur clip sounds great when I listened on different system which had better quality speakers. Hope this helps.
