Ambessa is getting a whole novel dedicated : Ambessa - Chosen of the Wolf (release on 18th feb of 2025). I think the contents of her vision in this video will be confirmed there. Arcane probably only slightly references this with some dialogue - I think the most important part here for Arcane is probably that baby Mel got marked by the wolf - whatever that means for her - her eyes glow golden at the end of the video before flashing back to the actual pregnant Ambessa at the battle scene of Rokrund.
My guess is this was basically like... They're dying, wolf walks up, he looks at them with his eyes and kinda is judging how they fought via observing this abstract interpretation of the battle perhaps, Lamb thinks they fought hard and deserve to live, Lamb gives them an item, and then because of that Wolf's like "Fine, they can live... I'll go find some other dead bodies over here to eat..." and then they pull out the arrow and they're good...
(SPOILERS FOR S1 OF ARCANE) My interpretation, like yours, is that it was a near-death experience (hence meeting Kindred). I think that in the space between life and death, as a warrior, Ambessa had to face Pantheon, who stood between her and the challenges of her later life (fellow Noxian movers and shakers like Swain and Katarina). I'm really interested in the Lamb symbol. My initial interpretation of the lamb was that, since it was a hextech creation that Ambessa was cradling and protecting until she gave it up, it represented her disowning Mel in order to be strong enough to secure the family's place in Noxian society. That would track with Kindred offering her the dust it turned into as the trinket that turned her into a ruler. However, since it's linked to Kindred, who is themselves an entity created from the Wolf and Lamb, there might be a further meaning I'm not really seeing. (The Wolf part is obvious. He's summoned when she starts to black out from her wounds, and he leaves when she revives, similar to how Kindred fades away in "Still Here".) Perhaps, since Lamb is the more gentle aspects of death, it was her embracing the savage and denying the merciful, which makes since as sending Mel away was Ambessa purging herself of what she saw as weakness. Great video, regardless. Riot's animation department is genuinely doing some of the best studio work in the western world, IMO.
I cannot wait to watch it again after season 2 of arcane to hopefully understand it more but you've outlined it so well! I'm so biased when it comes to Kindred XD
@@spookziepunzie It's not, it's way more simple. She fought through her death, and when she was screaming in tears, that was what's left of her "kind and caring" side. She sacrificed her child to Kindred in order to survive. In the end Kindred marks with death her child instead, leaving her be. It's older brother of Mel, who died, as we know from Arcane season 1.
the arrow isnt exactly in her belly... its slightly above her belly... like close to her sternum... it didnt even touch the baby... what is powerful is her knowing that she is pregnant she still fought a war... because she wanted or was forced? i dont know... is it stupid to fight while pregnant? yes it is... if she was forced then makes sense... otherwise a bit of a yikes... but nonetheless fighting while pregnant is Alpha ngl

2:57 in this case it was Baby Girl cuz it was Lamb, not them both.
they are one in the same tho so I just wanted to be respectful to the character in a fun light hearted way
gaining power from death

I want to see Mel and sevika become champions especially with sevika’s arm alone starting with a blade then she can switch her arm with the Jinx arm
that would be really cool!

"Riot's animation department " - it's Fortiche, actually, the same studio that animated Arcane. And yes, they are absolute GOATs.
Either way they cooked with hiring them for this project fr
@@AppleBaron Fair enough, I hadn't looked into who they had doing their animation! Thanks for letting me know!

Ok look at the video she pregnant with a arrow in her belly, the at the end you see the fetus when she pulls out the arrow. POWERFUL
