Hi i received mine 2 days ago. And it has a black smoke and smell weird?! And after two hours of trial. It has alot of black soot inside. I clean it afterwards the soot. Is that normal? Or do i have to removed the lava rocks or covered the whole thing (the burner)with lava rock. I wish i coud call you but no phone to contact, thanks
Hey there - the soot is normal because the propane is not mixing with oxygen before igniting. But that's one of the benefit of the ammo can design, just put the lid back on when you're done and it's all enclosed inside. As for the smell - did you get a DIY kit or an already built fire pit from us? There shouldn't be any smell unless you didn't remove the paint from the ammo can as we stated in the DIY instructions.
I bought the built one.i bought it on your black friday sale event.i will try it again, hopefully the smell will be gone, i was goin to make a review on my channel to compare with my friend lava box but i got excited totally forgot about it. And i love your product and way cheaper than the lava box and offer same benefits
Just got our ammo can all stripped tonight. Next paint and the install the DIY kit. Can't wait to get everything up and running.
On a side note nice to see you own one of the best midsize trucks. Leading the way in payload, towing, and interior ergonomics. A wonderful plateform for overland builds. There's nothing like putting your foot down on the gas pedel, which, for me, brings on the biggest smile. Amazing power with the turbo 2.3l engine and 10 speed.
