Ngl this is my opinion about this
As long as they aren’t playing it in a disrespectful manner or painting it in a bad light I would say it’s totally 100% fine to do stuff like this
Because it is a very realistic game it makes players go into the game and feel the immersive gameplay, and when they add a school "normal" people can see how it is to be a SWAT Officer.
there is a mentality in western society that is getting tiresome, and that is if we don't talk, notice, or try to understand something, it'll just go away and work itself out. no, i want these subjects to be discussed. i want them depicted in arts and entertainment.
@@cagneybillingsley2165 myeh. truth is mass coverage normalizes it and inspires, so it does lead to more. But when its already common, can't just hide/disregard it I agree.
@@cagneybillingsley2165 here in my country, people are blinded by opinion, once the truth is out there, they simply just refuse to believe it, in this scenario, where portraying a grim subject and making the audience "feel" something extreme, they would be against it, and probably bring religion into the topic, if not politics, just to win the argument and prevent this from showing up to their faces again.

I didn’t even find the “no russian” mission violent until I grew older. Even now I still don’t mind it because it isn’t real. I know it’s messed up but as the guy on the news said “it’s pixelated violence.”
Its also funny that the people arguing that it turns you into a terrorist are kinda subconsciously implying that everyone must enjoy the violence when the message is clearly not that these are the good guys lol

Absolutely no problem at all. But a school in a video game? That's waaaaaaaaay out of line! /s
Not to mention getting to play as literal Nazis. Somehow playing as a criminal in GTA or Payday is more controversial than playing as an actual Nazi in CoD or Battlefield.
@@cdsworkshop2855wait, payday got controversy for that? All I’ve heard about is how the head of the development team is a dong when interacting with the fan base.

It's also important to realise that this is precisely what art does; it tackles uncomfortable subjects, often in ways that people may not like.
People may find the shot up nightclub in Neon Tomb crass and sickening, but nothing drives home just how haunted such a scene would look like going through it, with phones next to corpses constantly going off.

I'll be honest, the nightclub mission is literally the only thing in video gaming that made me feel actually sickened.

They have already confirmed that though they are making a school map, the name of it will no longer be "School" but Campus. Though no final details have been leaked, the name could suggest that it won't be based on elementary school/high schools, but most likely a college campus. Similar environment, not as edgy. But I find it interesting that people call out and highlight the Night Club map, but not the Talent Center or Volls house, which is literally about child kidnapping/exploitation and child p***. But this is reality. VOID is doing good by making these realistic situations. Hopefully they keep it up, because real simulations could prepare you better for a real life situation.
Yeah, it is kinda crazy how the woke crowd loses their shit over a club map, but the ones based around doing horrible things to children? They sleep.
Same with the movie Sound of Freedom. The media is trying to take it down even though it's spreading awareness to sex trafficking rings and trying to stop them. With the Media acting like this that basically means they're getting paid by powerful people to say this and so they can keep raping innocent children. People need to wake up and see what the real world is like.
campus? oh man, it's gonna be big map. it reminds me to one of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 level, but it's called Recreational Center and it have gym, library, pool, etc. like school facility.
@@renobledukajah9867that’s exactly my first thought, “ oh like rec center” I need to replay Vegas 2 sounds like it’s going to be a multi building Map. Which I think would work perfectly
Buddy, buddy boy, these aren't real simulations whatsoever. This isn't how actual SWAT shit works. 90% of your emergencies will be standing by a fucking perimeter all day. Tactical deployments are far more organized than this and even though SWAT are ready to open fire, they aren't playing a MILSIM where they blow 90% of the occupants to smithereens.
The Volls House is not how crimes like the ones depicted usually go IRL too.
Just make sure you don't AFK for an hour.
It's a game depicting violence in the present-era, not shying away from a contemporary setting should be the expectation.
the officers who got shot outside the doors were giving bad info. they were told no-one was hurt yet besides the officers who got shot, and that they were in negotiations. neither of those were true at the time because the school police guy called those shots with no intel from anyone. He alone stopped the assault because he called out that there was a hostage negotiation and no injured.
I could understand if you where playing as the offender, actively going to a school to cause mayhem and havoc. *But this is the game where you deal with the direct aftermath.* You don't play as the criminal you play as the guys who have to go deal with the criminal. The Zombie kids in No More Room In Hell are more "controversial" then a school map in a police simulator game.
Not even necessarily the direct aftermath but even while it's going on. I mean 1 of the mission types you can select is actually called "Active Shooter." Criminals are actively roaming the level and killing the bystanders. that shit is actually fucked, enter a place and just start hearing gunshots in different places. Walk over to where you heard em, find dead bodies but no criminals and you just continue hearing gunshots.
Imgoing to keep it real, the only one that gets a pass is if the intent is to make you feel bad. if it's justified behind canonical reasoning as to why. and the only one that does that is modern warfare 2 2009. it tells you if you fail, then a monster gets to keep doing stuff like this. so you play along. you feel horrible. but you are doing your job. only to be found out and killed, justifying a war neither side wishes to fight, but both feel as if they must, to avenge the fallen/prevent falling.
flashbacks to postal 1 where the final level has you try to shoot up an elementary school
It's fucking insane how people will go batshit insane over the representation of true heroes who have to go headfirst in to these horrific nightmares.

Its most certainly a touchy subject.
Its a level that people will find uncomfortable and that's the point.
Its something that swat and the police have to deal with.
So depicting it has to not come across as intentionally repulsive, but genuine.
It actually outrages me when people are like this. So because it has anything, and I mean *anything*, to do with some tragedy it means that it's automatically insensitive and spreads a bad message promoting whatever tragedy is being portrayed, regardless of how the tragedy is portrayed. People need to get it through their solid ass skulls that discussing something does not equal promoting it.
faxcts
Two months late but these people are also the ones who were sharing memes and mocking the rich after the Titan submarine tragedy despite a kid being on board. The media is the very same, promoting clickbait articles on the disaster with fake 'simulations' and theories while criticizing games like this for being insensitive.
The sad reality is that the majority of people on this planet are too stupid to be sensitive. Public lynchings proved as much. If it gives them a feeling of moral and intellectual superiority to criticize people for being 'insensitive', they will. But if they feel like being insensitive is socially acceptable, they will have no problems. It's just pure herd mentality.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't find memes about tragedies funny or anything, I'm just saying these people who are so quick to criticize people for being 'insensitive' will also be the most insensitive to people provided the context suits them.
No russian was a bit excessive for a game but thats the point ITS A GAME. You die at the end of the mission anyways and you can choose just to not shoot anyone and even get an acheivement for that
Small edit: another thing, no Russian is what kicked off the whole campaign nothing would've happened if it wasn't added. The whole point of the mission was to pin it on America so Russia would start a war
And its important for the story
No Russian recreates that feeling when you experience Genuine horror, it gives you shock
@@train_go_boom2065and the justification for war between America and Russia
Damn never knew I could get an achievement. My first time playing through I was really young, so I didn't pay any attention to cut scenes and just wanted to play, so going into No Russian I just thought it was a normal mission until they opened fire. When I realized I immediately thought there was no way they would have me doing that, obviously I'm supposed to take out the guys on the elevator with me, but when that didn't work I just decided not to shoot anyone. Must've never gotten the achievement because as I walked through the mission id notice people suffering and bleeding out and quickly headshot them to end the suffering. Game probably thought I was a monster
In Germany you are literally failing when shooting someone in this Mission. Even in the "uncut" Version
I think the main thing what people expect is for people to just shoot kids in the level, and sure people will but when you actually play levels where there are hostages/a mass shooter you tend to want to actually shoot the bad guys. I think the only way to deter people from not shooting hostages in a School level would be for ingame punishment, like getting arrested by AI/other police officers in game if you just go guns blazing.
yeah i was thinking the same thing. they'd probably just do the same thing when you shoot the baby in MW2019, but news are gonna be news and will take modded version as truth and only version

I love how some people talk shit about RoN, calling it Copoganda, but the game literally does nothing to glorify the police in the game at all. You simply do what they do, and you have to live with it- If that improves your outlook on police, it's not because it's Copaganda, it's because it's helping you understand.
Like those moments when somebody comes running around a corner and you open fire because it scared you… only to find out it was an innocent civilian holding a phone…
@@jeremy5602 Exactly.
Ready or Not is copaganda. There's no interrogation in the game, it's the equivalent of exploitation films like Cannibal Holocaust, terrible things happen just to shock the audience.
And it's not like Spec Ops, where terrible things are shown to make the player realize that they are doing a bad thing and by extension the US military is a morally bad organization, in RoN bad things happen to make you think "cops have it so tough". Civilians are generally antagonistic. They scream at you, pull out their phones, they antagonize you to bait you into killing them (because RoN treats that purely as a game mechanic) and the end result is that players end up treating civilians as a hindrance to them doing their real job. And that is not how real life works.
RoN is the same as CoD. Both are propaganda, because in both you either stop playing and think "Being a cop/soldier is so cool" or "It's so hard being a cop/soldier". And in both games you never think that it's bad to be a cop/soldier because you're fundamentally doing evil things and killing innocents, but the game has convinced you that those evil things are either justified or not your fault.
@@dylanabela4058ready or not is not copaganda tldr
@@dylanabela4058 It's just a game about being a policeman, you need to relax.
As a student it is unsettling to see a school in any shooting game, but from a person who is fasinated by swat, counter terrorism, and special forces units, I am down. Despite how unsettling it would be to see a school and seeing the dead bodies of children, young adults, and teachers, showing a gritty scenario would allow us to experience how a real swat officer would face seeing the lifeless bodies of dead children as they walk through the school searching for the shooter.
And why are we trying to experience this? It's not like it gonna teach us anything we dont already know. It's purely morbid curiosity, and I'm not pretending to be above it, but you can't rationalize it. There's no better purpose to making something like this. Even as someone who would want to play this I have to admit it's not exactly morally superior to do so.
@@SafeAtSpeed If I had my way I would make this game entirely pg. You would only be raiding drug houses, but the game is there to push buttons and force you to make morally questionable decisions. The game allows you to raid a house with the remains of children in barrels of acid. The game allows you to raid a hospital or a cannibal village. Stuff like this isn't normal. I know it is morally questionable for there to be a school in a game. I can not defend myself for wanting this. It is definitely morbid curiosity, but I always believe a game is a game and when it comes to swat they have to deal with this possibility everyday and when it does happen they are there.
@@SafeAtSpeed Fun fact! You dont have to play the map, its a choice not a must. Mind blowing i know!
@@JustAShyGhost if you actually read my comment you would've never commented this. Every assumption or takeaway you made is completely utterly wrong.
@gbazo762 You asked why, but some people simply want to know what it is like to certain jobs, down to the gruelling details of reality. There is no good or bad or morally superior or below. Some people simply want to do it, it is as easy as that. Creators want to show the gruelling reality because it is reality and because they can. Nobody can deny that, and in a way it is a form of art to display it in whatever form they choose. Which goes back to nobody even has to experience it if they dont want to. The creators give the option, but everybody does the choice themselves
It can definitely be a touchy subject to some, altho I believe most people are overreacting to a videogame as always.
A lot of other medias, movies in particular, have already done way worse depictions of violence and made reference to some real shit and most people don't give a shit.
Plus about the nightclub map thing, you don't make a mape like that in just a single day, it is a planned thing, unfortunetly released in very bad moment.
It _is_ a touchy subject, without a doubt, but it's by design intended to provoke, to spark a discussion on the topic. Pretending tragedies don't exist doesn't solve them
@albertpavlas1001 exactly, sure it is pretty dark, but this game is meant to show the harsh reality of criminal and terrorist attacks and what the police and swat teams have to face. Sometimes people just have a dark mindset in video games like this but it really isn't the developer's fault that those people are like that.
Applauding the devs for wanting to tackle a subject that’s guaranteed to make anyone uncomfortable. Ready or Not going for the gritty and dark themes really puts a perspective what types of people there are out there, and how long it can go unnoticed and how much deeper it really goes, a forbidden rabbit hole right under our noses. Takes balls to go down these routes, so much respect for them to interpret and put a perspective for us to get an idea, an idea that none of us will hopefully never have to experience on how truly scary it gets.
If we can have war in video games, than a swat game with a school map, Ain't nothing.
I’m excited. The atmosphere of their other maps have been on point and really makes it feel intense. Yakno AS THE GAME WAS INTENDED. I hope they don’t scrap it or anything. It’ll be so interesting to see where they take it
Honestly i dont blame people for being put off or uncomfortable by this game, its disturbing material and that is the point of it
I respect the devs greatly for making a game that shows what its like being in the shoes of a swat team and really puts into perspective the stress these situations can bring
sometimes subtle storytelling is the most effective
Lore accurate.
If someone's feelings get hurt, then they wanna cancel everything that upsets them
But they never wanna question their opinions, beliefs, and fears. Just cancel whatever their democrat masters say fear, even if it hurts the freedoms and feelings of others who don't live in fear but in freedom of thought. Only You can control your own actions, and face the personal consequences of those actions. Opinions and feelings keep to yourself cause nobody cares that your personal fears and emotions incapacitate You, who cannot control your actions, not others. Kinda like guns that fearful people want banned, but then want a corrupt government official to bring one to protect them atleast 16min after whatever violent criminal event happened. Defend yourself cause nobody is coming to protect you, or your feelings. Just to investigate and clean up the mess made when victims failed to defend themselves.
Really liking you branching out your content man keep it coming. Your ready or not content is top tier, as is the humour 👍🏻
Much Appreciated my kind fellow!
I found looking through the files while modding Ready or Not's voice files, I have noticed something. Within the voice files, there are voices for what sounds like children specifically for the Brixley Talent Time map. The files for the kids are complete with dialogue the same as civilians. They have idle, panic, call out, pain, flash banged, pepper sprayed, and even a death voice files within. So I am wondering if they are planning to add kids in the game as civilians/victims with that small amount of effort of having those voice files to begin with.
Edit: For people who are curious about that, it would be in here when you get to your game's directory and then ReadyOrNot/Content/VO/AgencyCivilian03 and AgencyCivilian04. Those would be the two folders that contains those voice files.
I still remember my second ever raid, as it was the mansion raid, and I vividly remember my third, the Night Club. I have full faith in their ability to pull off almost any level they want.
Heck i remember my first two raida of Night club, first one we push to the dance room floor moment we opened the door we got mowed down as apparently someone gave the perps an MG.... And my second one we had been pushing quickly cause a guy just ran and we didn't want him killing anymore people so we forgot to evidence wrap a ak and hadn't got all the civies in the area cuffed one of the civies grabed the ak and started shooting us..
This is a big W for Ready or Not, I hate games that sugarcoat or try to strive away from real life things. By showing stuff that goes on in the real world in games truly shows and spreads awareness of something that could be so fake to be absolutely real.
this is so well made keep up the vids and you will grow your channel, great vid!
Anyone else remember Wade Elementary School from F.E.A.R. 2? There was absolutely no controversy around player entering an elementary school grounds and witnessing plenty of gruesome and bloody scenery.
Six Days in Fallujah also had this issue after the Iraq war was fresh. But give it time
Void shouldn't bend the knee to the media. I'm glad they haven't really done so, so far
Its the very reason why there is a warning saying basically, “Hey! There is some fucked up shit ahead! Just know, this is a simulation, and meant to inform people! Don’t take it seriously!”
Its like society completely forgo that most games add this is, when they know what the player in the game is about to do some pretty illegal shit. I know nobody reads that, but it is up long enough, and is big enough, for people to look at it, and read the first sentence.
I really love this game, keep up the good work!!
I hope they continue, I see this as a way to spread awareness to the gamers who are usually devoid of caring about these events

I honestly think this game would be perfect in vr. It would show people the terror and trauma of not just pressing a button, but also actually aiming that gun and pulling the trigger.
They say virtual violence is real, but when you achieve something good in a video game they are ganna tell you it’s not real 😂😂😂

Ready or not was sucha a name for a game. I m really glad they pick this name because its so recognizable.
What is wrong with people who think that real life travisties should go unnoticed. The game didn't make a mockery of these situations, it showed you the real life facts that your to scared to stomach. These things happend in real life all the time, And someone has to stop those things from happening no matter the means. They didn't show it as a cool and nice situation. They showed you how terrifying it is to be the one who has to deal with that.
Im buying ready or not not necessarily because of this but this just made me respect these devs even more.
I think that its about time that a realistic swat game went with realism and not cat skins, even if it is controversial.
I hope they can handle the pr nightmare that it’s going to cause, I personally want no pulled punches when it comes to dealing with this topic as it’s sad that this thing happens to often these days, but one thing I think they should really hone in on during the levels release is protecting and saving the innocent, I hope void donates to a charity that deals with ptsd from school shootings with both cops, staff and students. Because one person’s actions could effect thousands mental health within seconds.
Found a file titled "School" in the games files as I was looking for the mod folder, so its already there, but I couldn't open it in any way.
It's kinda weird for me.
Violence in movies like "SAW" or any other movie where there's a shootout is absolutley normal for PR, coz it's meant for mature/adult audiences only. But when there's a game, that is ALSO meant for the same group, it instantainoulsly gets shit on, especially if subject is a bit realistic or inspired by tragedy. Like Six Games in Fallujah: it was meant to realese around 2007 if I remember, but devs could not do that coz it was too soon, coz game would show the terror in Fallujah.
SWAT or any counter terrorist group faces stuff that everyone wouldn't want to be in: active shooter in schools or malls, a bomb threat, a shootout in the alleys, a bank robbery etc. Pepole shouldn't joke around these stuff, I agree with it, but I just can't stand pepole that are like "ooh it's a game, it's bad". Void Interactive does an Increadible job with giving a "simulation" to Ready or Not, and I don't understand why pepole throw shit on them coz they add another SWAT experience coz it's "very serious and touchy". Yes it is, that's why they add stuff like it, so pepole could experience what their heroes feel when they are in that scenario
I found out about RoN in 2021, got it in 2022. I got what I expected to get: immersive SWAT simulator. I get scared frequently, and under large amount of stress, just like I would in the real life. I hope they will keep it up, even with these karens throwing shit on it
I think its more unsettling that real police like ulvade sid nothing during a school shooting then a game showing you what uvalde could have been like in some small way.
the title picture goes hard.
We Americans live with school shootings every month/week. Many do not care, and won’t try to do even the simplest of things to stop it, like any kind of checking of a person’s mental health.
One game development team decides to make a level in their game to honor school shooting victims and to show truly how horrible and haunting school shootings are, and everyone flips. Why?
Ain't no way this guy only has 1.39k subscribers, the quality, presentation, and editing is brilliant
this is a good and bad idea. The good side of it is, it can be used as a training sim in some ways, You the player are not playing as a shooter you are playing as a LEO which make it A LOT better. The bad side is that many people will take it offensive in just the fact that you are on a campus with a gun and not think about the fact that you play as the good guys, and people with likely add mods to add civilians and use them at targets and use the in-game enemies as LEOs instead of enemies
No way this channel has less than 1k subs, im subbing now, I hope you remember this when you get famous, nice vid chief ;)

@@manyatruefail I agree, but then again I think it's already in progress mate. Just look at the USA now.
Can’t wait to get the Uvalde PD achievement where you go AFK for 75 minutes.
💀💀💀
I do get both sides point, when you play games you don't really want them reminding you of real life events, but it's also an important part that we open our eyes and embrace those events and not push them away because then it will happen again, we need to see the problems and act on them, not ignore them even if it's just in a video game
Just remember before anyone complains about ready or not
The original ending for POSTAL
Yup, like, SWAT 4 also had a level on a club and i didn't remember seeing any controversy about it
(well, tbh, SWAT 4 released on 2004, so no valid point here, i just want to talk about SWAT 4, great game)
“I hate games that show the brutal world of crime 😡😡😡 it is so offensive I’m just gonna keep ignoring the fact this is all real and keep posting angry things on Twitter because I have nothing better to do 😡😡😡”
damn who would’ve thought the realistic swat game would have realistic scenarios
The whole game is designed to make you feel uncomfortable, people pass over the human trafficking and Child Exploitation levels like it’s nothing and only get upset about this
im glad devs like void exist
I love Ready or Not for realism and seriousness. Long live the RON!
The message isn't to promote violence
It's to show you the pain, the mess that these men have to clean up
Why censor, when it's real? Not talking about it makes it worse
I want a ruby ridge survival mode as the civilian. Like zombies but surviving waves of scavs like in tarkov.
Good, someone needs to have the balls too.
This is a serious videogame; an adult videogame; and also a fiction that represents reality in an immersive way. Just like literature and movies, videogames also need works that touch real and painful places for us to connect; to express ourselves throught art.
People are just week minded and have gone soft. RON might be just better off going onto its own launcher
Your editing is something else, holy shit
deadass i want them to make a airport map because i wondered what it would be like if something did happen in a airport
devs have balls for not updating the damn game and losing their playerbase slowly
I love how this game devs ain't afraid to touch reality. Bless them.
Honestly, even if it is a game for entertainment at the end of the day, it brings better light to these tragedies then media. Media talks about the most recent shooting (unfortunately depending on the severity) for up to a week. This game will have the level playable, accessibly, and watchable, at all times.
"Violent video games don't make you violent, it makes you more creative in violence."
With the "No russian" arguement, if an 8 year old has access to the game, that is clearly not the companies fault, the parent if complaining about what their kid is playing then they should monitor what the child is playing, that is like if I was a parent and I got pissed because I bought my kid GTA 5 knowing there is nudity and violent content.
If a game dev somehow sees this PLEASE PUT THE GAME ON MACBOOK
The school mission should have you waiting outside for 30 minutes before going in, just for that added realism
its one event, it doesn't represent the entire police force :/. and you're totally fine about the missions which involce sites where cp was recorded
They weren't Ready for this
Back in 2005, RoN's spiritual predecessor series SWAT released a game in which the first level's target was real life kidnapper/r4pist - identified by name. The map was laid out like his *actual house* (assembled from crime scene photos and news articles), and you even got to go into the secret underground r4pe dungeon he'd dug out for himself. The changed the name of the women rescued from his clutches, although they were still clearly modelled to look like his last two real-life victims.
Now THAT was controversial. The fact that his is what now crosses the bar is insane to me.
Finally a place where i can train my aim
Tbh I'm glad they put stuff like this in because this shit actually happens and too show what swat officers have too deal with is super fucked up
MW became controversial because you perform a mass shooting inside an airport against innocent helpless people. Ready or Not is not the same thing. You play as a SWAT Officer in multiple different scenarios (bomb threat, active shooter, raid, etc etc..) on different maps. Anyone that’s played the game knows, the AI is not to be taken lightly by any means. There’s little room for mistakes. You could mistake a civilian for an enemy, or vice versa. Guess what, that actually does happen too. And that’s what really brings out the immersive close to real life experience, the game is able to provide. People will use real CQB tactics in the game, and that’s how you really have to play at times.
This almost reminds me of the controversy when Six Days in Fallujah was created. But the thing is, Marine combat veterans involved in the war, wanted to develop the scenario in a game. To showcase and help people realize what they went through was not a joke. It’s not to offend anyone. Obviously what happens in real life, is a huge unfortunate turnout of events. Sadly that’s the world we live in. But these people getting upset, needs to understand these video games aren’t made for shits and giggles. Ready or Not and Fallujah are some of the hardest games I’ve come across. The developers made it difficult for a reason.
Honestly, the government should give protections to game devs who want to make realistic games, no matter how dark or home hitting they have to go.
If they want to make a game where you a play a mission in a school, let them.
For those that played SWAT 4 back in the day. Their missions and environmental storytelling was way more wild.
Love your editing and voice delivery!
Your input is much appreciated!
People need to realize that Ready or Not was franchised towards showing what Swat and Police may face on a daily basis. People need to get that through there heads
If we're allowed to watch the full body camera footage of the Nashville shooter getting folded like a lawn chair, if we're allowed to watch such shootings in TV/Movies, if we're allowed to read full detail reports of survivors of such shootings, then why would having a game, where you are the person responsible for stopping the shooter, be any issue?
The only people complaining about video games are people that haven't figured out that, shockingly enough, people can distinguish the difference between fiction and reality
