Anything but fence staples. Use a chunk of chain or cable with one of the threaded lap link joints..... put your bucket by a tree, wrap chain around it and close the link. Saves you lot of time
Skunks are not very active during winter. Try to target them before it gets really cold and in the early spring. Location wise, field edges and waterways.

So I would assume a square bucket is important do to the body grip is square or could I use a round home Depot bucket very new to this most for food ?
I think you could probably use a round one a well. Maybe try to put supports on either side to stop it from rolling, but I've seen people use round.
