Probability is your friend! Also you can skip it entirely using basic systems in the game to 1 round on Eirika/Roy with literally just SPD+5 and the 2nd passive is optional.
Bad arguments refutation:
-Master seal is not a cost (Every/most units need one)
-Engravings/Forges are given to every primary combat unit in a given team comp
-Passives are used on every unit (Yes people seriously act like this is a unique cost)
-Emblem Rings are used on primary units/passed around as needed, you eventually get enough to run them all on every deployed unit.
-Having a unit get kills on a map =/= feeding. Feeding is taking a terrible weak unit who cannot perform and needs kills setup for them in order to level. Timerra can level herself from main tanking.
-Timerra and Kagetsu are the only fast high def units in the game, this is her Niche.
-Sandstorm patches shaky crit rates and pushes her crit reliability up relative to Kagetsu so she has a niche as a crit unit
-She can easily 1 round on Fensilar +5/Lance power 3-5 on Ike all game
-I also run Lance/Sword/Axe Power 5 on 4-5+ units per run (Well is OP).

Bro showed a video of her killing things at base level in her join map (no sandstorm needed), soloing a portion of Lyn’s map, and even used objective probability to make the case and yet Reddit will still say she’s bad because she can’t kill anything 😭
Anyway, Sigurd with Lance power and Spd+ is my go to build for Timerra and it works wonders. I’m doing a no well version of the build that is just spd +3 and lance power 1 and she is still doing well for herself.
Usually when someone says Timerra bad it’s painfully obvious they never used her in good faith and is just going with tier list consensus that is like a year old at this point. That said
Bro you can’t just give her a forge, engrave, and an emblem that’s too much favoritism and babying. You have to leave her unprompted and give her a C rank bond ring then ask why she can’t kill anything with a weapon that weighs her down by 8 Spd.

I had Timerra with Hector, Brave Lance and Hector engrave (pair up skill from corrin and resolve from Ike); constant 4 hits, a lot of evasion, tons of defense and a lot of sandstorm procs. She was fenomenal
I love how Hector’s engage skill and sandstorm multiply off each other.

Timerra is very good, I am giving her better equipment this run, last time just used her for tanking and she is hard carrying my new Maddening run. Trying out your Anna, Chloe, and Timerra builds, those 3 with bonded shield Framme just clean up maps.
Have you tried her with Tiki yet, I've tried it and was surprised, can tank forever just wait and heal back to full, the stats tiki ring goes well together and you can actually do dmg with the Dragon form, i think Timerra is the only person that buffs the dragon dmg with consistent crits and sandstorm procs. She becomes more tanky you just send her out with a javelin and wait every time your low on health and can turn into dragon and clean up all the 1 range units. 0 investment just give her tiki and do what you would normaly do. Just use this build in the video but with tiki. I don't know if you have tried it before. But its very good. Tiki Claw is usually around 45% crit and when you dragon form you get bonus 5 stats to every things so +5 dex, so Like 35%-40% sandstorm procs i don't know the exact chance but tiki dragon form with will doing massive dmg. Maybe not the best but Very fun, Much love thanks for all your vids.
Tiki really is the best way to fix any of your tanks. It should also be noted that her Starsphere passive also raises the user’s growth rates by 15% across the board, which also helps significantly on random gowths for preventing bad stat rng.

For DLC users out there, just give her 3H emblem. It gives her strength, dex, and def. She benefits from Weapon Sync. Failnaught lets her one-round fliers/dragons. Her tankiness lets her survive a hit to use the axe weapon skill (don't remember what it's called). And I'm pretty sure the engage attack can roll Sandstorm on all 3 hits.
I've always thought Sigurd was a pretty hotly contested emblem, even discounting LTC play. He frees up a skill slot so you don't need to give someone canter, and has a built in damage steroid (momentum), and is one of the few emblem rings that is useful on Seadall. He also gives build, which lots of units can use effectively.
And that's just dicounting his movement bonus, which is also amazing.
Regardless Sigurd isn't super integral to the point you're making.
She can use Leif well too if you really, really can’t be bothered to give her a good emblem lol.
Isn’t Sigurd a Seadall only emblem? I thought that was the only way to play it. I’ve never tried anything different other than all the different early game combinations before you get seadall.
@@MNtoCaliI’ve never used Sigurd on Seadall. That just seems like a bit of a waste. I assume he’s used for the extra movement, but since you’re likely giving all or most of your units Canter anyway, his base movement really shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re an LTCer spamming warp shenanigans. And theMomentum, build and Def don’t matter for Seadall either since he should never see combat. I’d rather give Sigurd to any combat unit at all before I give him to a pure support/utility unit.

Sigurd is such a good offensive Emblem that I usually only give him to Seadall if nobody I’m using has a build for him. For Seadall I often give him Lucina, because if I’m setting up a Bonded Shield somewhere I don’t really need to be dancing at the time
@@danielpatterson1576 you kinda just don't give every unit canter anymore tbh. It's nice, but not THAT nice. You used to give it to everyone because it was the only reasonably affordable skill but now that the well makes Lance and Sword power reasonable to get, you prefer to give units from early game those early instead of Canter.
Theoretically timerra can also be a "jack of all trades unit" better than say hortensia and boucheron due to her high spd and dex and not horrendous base str/magic growths 25% on both stats (that is of course "in theory" due to random mode being much less merciful with levels)
boucheron is not a jack of all trades, he is just a fast crit unit
neither is hortensia, she is just a pure support stave bot
Some of these people in this comment section are crazy. Let’s define tank. Tank is for both physical and magic. She can tank both physical and magic. She is second best to Kagestu for tanking. Currently doing a Kagestu with warrior and Ike. Just gave Timerra speed taker and using the Hero’s Lance. She is cleaning everything up expect for tanks. Btw. I understand that Lance power does stack. But I think you should have gave her Lunar brace since this is a player phase timerra
P.S playing the IKe Kagestu build. I kinda messed up not giving him any of the res. But it’s pretty cool.
Something something Timerra bad. Now excuse me while I run my Kagetsu into an enemy who has 5% crit on him. But yeah this game has so many things that can go wrong I really don't see why people put this much emphasis on an rng dmg skill on a TANK. She's not supposed to be killing things in her role yet she does. That alone is impressive.

My first playthrough of engage, timerra HARD carried and was MVP of every map. I thought she was so broken that I opted not to run her at all in my following playthrough because I feel like she's too strong it makes the game too easy
All Timerra needs is more Bld. That’s her once weakness. So that’s why I have her the Tiki ring. And I respect anyone who gives Timerra the love she deserves.

I failed to damage fix timerra at all on my first mad run and also probably underinvested, she was still ok but not a carry. With the well now being a thing I have no idea why this is still a conversation. Investing in a unit with high potential (such as a percentage chance to just kill) is piss easy now.

sigurd is one of the best rings in the game with just normal play, corrin and byleth prob the best rings because their utility is insanely strong
Also because FE engage uses the nerfed 2RN for RNG calculations above 50%, the 60% becomes 65% and the 69% becomes 78%.
Assuming doubling :
60 crit / 28 DEX -> 65 crit / 28 DEX -> 93.65% that at least one occurs.
69 crit / 28 DEX -> 78 crit / 28 DEX -> 97.50% that at least one occurs.
With Timerra's DEX getting so high with Sigurd she gets even more crit in endgame as well. Keep in mind from then on, enemies should get +3 LCK or dodge on average until the endgame while Timerra will get +1% per 2 points of DEX which will make her one round super goddamn easily.
Timerra has thereby achieved mathematical superiority. Waiting for the meth guy to cry again in the comments now !

Yeah my IL 30 Warrior Kagetsu Ike missing 80% tomahawks failing to kill regularly was more consistent.
His 7k SP Ike Build that also tanked worse than Timerra's 4k SP Roy Build on C23 enemies also didn't help make my case either.
I had her hit for 0 in dmg calculation but still kill the enemy because her sandstorm procd

Why is there a Timerra debate? Sandstorm is literally where the videogame makes its $60 price value. The game is quite unplayable without Sandstorm, and Make a Killing. I don’t understand what people are getting out of debating that, like “Oops I suck at fire emblem games hence why my Timerra underperformed” Especially considering Hector exists.

Honestly the Timerra slander I was hearing from other people had me confused as my Timerra would one round anything while being tanky. She is the single best tank in the game!
@@PetraMacneary half of those aren’t even tanks. Dodge tanking in maddening doesn’t count as lower hit rates usually means enemies won’t even attack you, also relies on luck. Timerra can used Ike pretty well had her sandstorm damage scales with defense. She is fast so even when taking magic damage she won’t get doubled, only fearing thoron. Access to S rank lances gives her Brionac. Her dex is high enough where crits and sandstorm procs are consistent enough to where you can rely on it. She is literally the only tank besides Alear than can reliably one round on enemy phase. Goldmary is to slow and doesn’t hit hard enough, and Kagetsu hits like a wet blanket without crits.
@@PetraMacnearyout of those units you listed the only ones that are truly better than Timerra are Kagetsu and Panette, Goldmary can be debated, the rest is simply untrue
@@PetraMacneary she has sandstorm and crits. I don’t use Kagetsu much so I can’t really say if he is good or bad. But when it comes to killing on player and enemy phase, Timerra is close to the best as sandstorm allows her to one round even enemies faster than her and do it reliably.
@@PetraMacneary if Kagetsu is as good as you say wouldn’t that mean Timerra can still have a niche if their is some form of comparison between the two. Their growths are somewhat similar, Timerra just lacks build at base. I would say that Timerra on enemy phase is probably still really strong as she has easy access to 1-2 ranged weapons. Sandstorm is also busted because it procs per hit. One of the few Ike tanks who can just one shot with Esther with 0 effort.

I also had a Fensilar +5 leif engraved but the Javelin +4 unengraved 1 rounding the wolf knight is more than enough.

I gave louis the same level and same degree of investment as this timerra, he would one shot everything and take no damage on sigurd ring.
Give framme a flashing fist (avoid or reduce weight engrave) as enchanter with eirika ring, she be one rounding that same target and can avoid attacks.
Sniper kagetsu can kill generals with lunar brace and a killer bow with corrin engrave.
Griffin knight boucheron can 2 shot (double) with a tomahawk and some axe power that same target.
I would use timerra for her strengths rather than try to satisfy a role that another unit can do easier with less investment. She is a fast bruiser that can sometimes get kills with sandstorm, she is a hybrid of taking hits and dealing damage and excels at neither, Louis excels at both being a true tank and nuking his target - but rather than look at an unit's strong points, you focus and fixate only on the weak points which blindsides you and you end up only using jack-of-all-trades units.
She is bad, she can't kill anything. /s

Vander is trash.
A +5 killer weapon with lyn engrave will always have above 50% chance to crit, any target you will double is almost guaranteed to crit at least once.
Berserkers are the easy ones to kill, they only got a lot of hp, so anything that crits will kill it.
He also showed the eirika build. It was a brave weapon with Lyn engrave only +1. And he can kill an armored unit with it.
@@FabledTactician lunar brace enables any crit build to kill armour units. If you give a sniper that has high dex growth lunar brace+ and a crit engraved killer bow, they will reliably kill most to all things in the game.
@@MasterStacona can they kill the armor unit(even if it doesnt kill fully it could kill), double most things, tank hits and dish out good damage on EP? hell can this Sniper do damage when the damage forecast says 0?💀

My louis be one shotting and take less damage, best he got would be +1 spear +2 silver great lance.
Better ring for timerra be Roy, Hector, and Leif - Leif bare minimum gives her hp, def, and build which are all good stats for her. What weapon she uses does not matter too much since her damage you want to come from sandstorm, so you be better off with dex+5 or speed/dex+4 for better sandstorm chances.
I could get Celine rocking better with less investment, her avoid is surprisingly high and she is pretty good with elsurge on her default and can use thoron for 3 range high damage nuke, ignis procs for extra damage. Celine can become a pretty good avoid tank with an avoid engrave, and is good with the hero's sword too for a physical option and with her high res and avoid, she can kill high def and high res targets.
If u dont create a Timerra build with pure dlc passive then she's bad and cant kill😢

There isn't a unit that hits 100% critrate without wrath. Any other unit doing this would have less consistency. Sandstorm improves your crit odds by acting as additional crit rolls. If a unit has two 60% crit rolls running the same build their odds of seeing a single crit are 84%. Timerra rolling two 60 % crits with 30 dex, 60/60/30/30 odds are 92%.
If you want to believe that 84% kill rate is consistent enough and 92% is somehow worse, by all means do so. The math is on my side here, it is literally basic probability math. Check it yourself:

you have better users for all of these rings
if you give her something like leif or roy, which no one wants, it fully benefits timerra and frees up the other rings for other units to make your army stronger.
This is a very bad look for Timerra as she is overleveled and overinvested trying to make her look like she is underleveled and underinvested, and I am the only person that put her in A tier, but this is not the reason she is good and you make the rest of your army worse as a result.
Lower investment slot machine bruiser is a better showcase, she can tank some hits while getting some kills with sandstorm procs, but neither as a tank nor trying to make her work as a damage nuke - you can have units that be better for the nuke side or as a tank side. My overinvested louis will take zero damage and true one shot everyone! Nothing more satisfying than one shot a line of enemies with a silver greatlance on sigurd ultimate.
