For Jazz I'd suggest for Vietnam Jazz Charlie Haden "New Liberation Orchestra" which is Vietnam oriented and pianist Stanley Cowell "Blues For The Vietcong"
I saw Eric Burton talk about that song and he said it was about getting away from London slum. With his chic. "hey girl we gotta get outta this place if it's the last thing we ever do" I think.. LOL I was in the Americal Division 23rd Infantry Light. 1970 I remember we all liked CCR, whites and blacks. I am 73 now sure went fast.
Na...! I don't buy Springsteen, he seems to be strummin for the $$, this is my personal feeling. Lefty I turn him off. If you were in a rifle company lookin for trouble there was songs that sent you the other way, wind you way up. Example is the band the SEEDS, Pushing to hard. Right at the end was the Doors, LA WOMEN album The Changling. I liked the interview.
Amazing interview! I was born in 59 so I was a kid through Vietnam and I love the music of that era! Great job!
Fantastic interview , thank you both very much
Thank You very interesting!
Should talk again. Magic!
With respect, this interview was boring. It is both sad and great that he got to experience the war favourably.

Unsung Heroes by Chuck Price is a great song about Vietnam War. Thanks.
Buffalo Springfield "For What It's Worth"
As usual, the US Government drops the ball again. They abandoned the soldiers who gave their all. I hate politicians with a passion.
