The Kirby games always blew me away, having a cute main character with similarly cute friends fighting *universe devouring demons*, but who thought they could make a butterfly the biggest twist in all the games
Plus in the scenes, the butterfly is always landing or going near Kirby, maybe it tried taking over Kirby, mistaking him as Galactica Knight, since they're both pink and incredibly strong, but he flies away because Kirby shrugs him off

As a massive Kirby fan playing Star Allies. My jaw damn near hit the floor when i saw the butterfly come down. I noticed it in the recent games aswell and figured "oh hey its the butterfly" until star allies. I was speechless when he turned into Morpho Knight, or as I called him before I saw the name, Beta Knight seeing as he's Meta Knights beta design

For example, in Super Kirby Clash when you get the Morpho Doomhelm it says "This helmet appeared in response to the screams of the most powerful warrior in the galaxy" But in a Japanese interview, the director said that Morpho Knight ate Galacta Knight out of "sympathy" or "pity" So Galacta went out screaming, but Morpho Knight did it because he had reason to feel sorry for him.

I feel like the butterfly would always try to fuse with kirby. But he would always leave it. And it seems meta knight knows the butterfly as in the guest star mode, theres a ending picture with meta knight giving it the death stare.
theory: the butterfly needed to tap onto galacta knight to become morpho knight, but since he and kirby look similar it kept confusing kirby for galacta knight, then when he finally found galacta knight, he was finally able to become morpho knight
The butterfly wasn’t trying to become morpho knight when it casted judgment on him but turned into morpho after hearing the galacta knight’s cries and decided to let him become a knight forever by fusing with him

With how similar their designs are, I believe that Galacta Knight is a member of Kirby and Meta Knight's race of Star Warrior from many, many years ago and was sealed away for whatever evil deeds it committed in his 'dark past'. I hope we get a game that focuses on his backstory. That would be cool.

My theory: The butterfly has been watching over Kirby and his friends to see if they are ready to fight Morpho Knight yet. Galacta Knight is just a test. When star dream summons Galacta Knight, he says to meta knight: "The benefits of this final battle outweigh the collateral damage." So I think the benefits are Meta Knight proving his strength so that he can fight Morpho Knight later.
Star dream was testing meta knight to see if he was worthy of becoming the new admin. The "benefits" refer to conclusive test results as to whether or not meta knight is worthy

I think there is a metamorphosis life cycle in kirby's kind with Kirby being first, Meta Knight second, Galacta Knight third (notice the horns), Void termina (notice the horns grown bigger/mask still present), Void soul being last (notice the dark matter look/kirby look). Kirby's kind is like a star...eventually losing shape. This process is probably prompted by eating/copy ability, notice we never see meta knight eat/copy others (possible an attempt to not become corrupt or lose himself. One could say kirby's gut isnt unlimited eventually bursting open into a void....void soul.

I think that Kirby, Meta Knight, Galactia Knight, Morpho Knight, and Dark Meta Knight are the same species, and they were all created simotaniusally; having being made by bits of their creator’s soul; (who is the leader of the four people who sealed Void Termina away, before Kirby defeats him)on the day of judgement,which happens every millennium; (except Morpho Knight and Kirby), and sent to different universes, and were sealed away in crystals, and released (except Galactia)had a battle between each other at one point, after Galactia Knight was released, and, BTW, Meta Knight is the only one that didn’t get corrupted, their creator made The butterfly to stop the battle, and it; apparently; worked, but when she realized that the butterfly had absorbed too much power from the residents of Dreamland (by just flying around), and she tried to destroy it, but got herself sealed in a heart shaped, rainbow crystal, eventually becoming Kirby’s soul, which absorbed happiness, positivety and pinkness (duh). And so, that, my freinds, is my theory (BTW, I think the crystal revived him.)
You know, I've just realized that Galatica's eyes are purple - the same color of Meta Knight's when he got possessed by a dark Jamba Heart. Perhaps this happened to Galatica in his past so he was sealed away. And perhaps the butterfly can't fuse with Kirby cause he's not the proper host - he's just too purehearted, or maybe it wanted Kirby and friends to "lure" Galatica out by fighting him. Also, Galatica's eyes turn to a normal "yellow" after the butterfly fusion. Same as Meta Knight's normal eye color. Just my two cents. :]
I mean, there were a few missing Jamba Hearts, even if you account for the one that ended up inside Kirby that gave him the -Brainwashing- Friendship Heart power. I wouldn't say that the eye color is exactly evidence of that specifically (Meta Knight's eyes turned purple when under the control of Yin Yarn as well), there's no evidence against it either. As such, while your theory can't be proven at the current moment, it can't be disproven either.

Since Galacta Knight's boss title is "Temporal Warrior" I'm under the impression that the order of events we experience Galacta Knight is not the same order that he experiences them. In SSU he get brought in through a portal of some kind and meets his apperant death or destruction. RtDL he enters in a crystal then flies away. And in Robobot he comes through a star portal and is then locked into the crystal prison from RtDL. In some manner Galacta Knight is not bound to the same constrains of Time as the rest of the Kirby universe. I believe that Morpho Knight is an entirely different entity from Galacta, but still a more matured member of the star warrior race Kirby belongs to.
Yeah, at this point Galacta is THOROUGHLY unstuck in time. In previous lore theories I had made comments about, I posited that Morpho Knight had been cursed into his butterfly form (which I call 'Morpho' for convenience) by a great evil. IMO, this evil was very likely Dark Matter/ Zero since it seems like HAL is REALLY pushing Dark Matter lately (Gooey is back, Dark Matter Sword is back, Void Termina straight up has a form that looks like Dark Matter, etc.) and the "Day of Judgment" likely is referring to the day Zero reforms once more as 0³. I also think Morpho Knight was once good, but has been driven insane due to isolation and is lashing out out of baser instincts. I think we're going to start seeing a rivalry between Galacta Knight and Morpho, since both need the same power source to exist as combatants. Galacta Knight needs the power to stay tethered to the present, and Morpho needs it to revert to his true Morpho Knight form.

an idea for a new kirby mode would be “chivalrous mode”,where you play throught the game as a knight character (morpho,meta,and galacta) of your choosing,however the knights are unlocked by:meta knight and mode:beating the game,galacta:taking no damage in the final boss fight,and morpho:getting all collectibles

I kind of had a story planned on how it can work out which is a but reminiscent to the Megaman X or Zero series but with a Kirby feel and would take a lot of traits form Kirby and the Amazing Mirrors, Return to Dreamland, and Planet Robobot in terms of lore and characters. As for Galacta Knight, I am thinking he shouldn’t really be in the main story but would have some lore of him hinted in Metroid Prime style journal logs that would probably explain more about the past who Galacta Knight really was, which would unlock a bonus or extra mode where you get all of them, where you encounter Galacta Knight/Morpho Knight.
It is a lance, but he uses it the same way Meta Knight uses his sword in many ways. He uses both slashing and stabbing attacks, with an emphasis on stabbing
Here's my theory to why Morpho Knight even exists. Remember how in the main story, there are 4 pieces of the heart missing? Here's what I think. The butterfly was both infected with a dark piece, and given friendship powers like kirby. But, kirby, being able to steal the abilities of his enemies was given the power to make them his friends with their respective abilities. The butterfly, however, was given the power to fuse with with beings and become and mix with them as if they both went through meta-morphosis together instantly. However, being it got struck with said dark heart, it didnt use those powers correctly, instead using them for evil. Galacta Knight also got struck by a dark heart making him more evil and strong than ever, which is why Hyness switched to summoning him instead of Void Termina. So we get to the Morpho Knight fight. Galacta Knight is there, but how did the butterfly get there? We see it was friendly to kirby before, and it was still friendly to him throughout the story, having been struck with both friendship and evil. So, being a friend with kirby, it followed him and/or his friends, all the way to the summoning area. It could tell that Kirby and co. had been fighting, and wanted to help. Galacta Knight had just been summoned, so the fighting had stopped long enough for the butterfly to not know the attacker. It sensed Galacta Knight's power and mistook it for kirby's friend, and decided to fuse with him, thus why we see a heart around them as they fuse. But of course, Galacta Knight is not good, and is far more powerful than the butterfly, so Galacta Knight is still in control. Having accidentally given Galacta Knight powers, it was then forced to fight Kirby. Thus then leads to Kirby succeeding and Galacta Knight dying (again), but with the butterfly.
It mustook gala at for Kirby,not his friend. AS only them two in that scene were of similar form. I think the butterfly took galaxta’s ability to fuse and galaxy’s got good friendship powers but didn’t use them, but hthe butterfly got bad powers and didn’t use them.

What if galacta knight is a meta knight from a different universe and then he was corrupted with power to much power that he decided to split himself into two halves and the entire time he's been attacking you he was still corrupted but every time he lost he got less corrupted and in Kirby star allies he was completely sane and he just wanted to feel the thrill of those battles he had with you but the butterfly was secretly waiting until he was completely uncorrupted by power so it could be complete and the butterfly was the evil of galacta knight but when galacta knight split in two he was the good but some of the evil from the butterfly was still inside and when he got rid of the evil left within the butterfly would feel it and know it's now time for him to become who it was by absorbing the creator to become whole like how illusion steve absorbed his creator galaxy steve to become reality. Well, in Robobot, when you beat Mecha Knight one of the times, you see Meta Knight's true face - he's the same species as Kirby. Galacta and Morpho are the same shape, and have the same kind of hands and feet as Meta and Kirby. I think ya'll see where I'm going with this.
I think it is because Kirby is too unfocused with a key ability aka the copy ability so Morpho knight couldn't make a stable possession without being a copy ability.
Next game should be "Kirby Galactic Knights" and it explains the Star Warrior past, Kirbys race, Meta Knights climb to be a great warrior, and the origin of Galacta Knight, and the Butterfly of doom. I believe the reason Galacta Knight reacts this way is because he is cursed to wander the galaxy, fighting new warriors seeking a challenge, the Universe sends him to Kirby and Friends time and time again, and each time he begins fighting immediately, which makes me think maybe this is how he can break the curse on himself, by winning against the Universes strongest Star Warrior (Kirby) But he fails, and gets sent forward in time to fight again. Now he's reunited with a being of immense power, Meta Knight knows the trouble this Butterfly can cause, but he lets it be, either out of fear, or uncertainty. I think Nintendo has been trying to hint at a bigger Kirby game in the making, one that explains everything, one that transcends time to Kirbys past and future battles, all with the one goal to possibly set Galacta Knight free from his curse. Because he's Kirby, and even the bad guys need some love. (I mean, look at Marx in KSA, he's actually HELPING Kirby now, probably because he's afraid, or because he realizes that Kirby can't be defeated.)

galacta knight being considered the greatest warrior in the galaxy is a title he had from many millenia before kirby and meta knight arrived on scene. He isn't the modern greatest warrior, but in his time no one could challenge him.
judgement day: the butterfly tries to see if galacta knight is a good guy, seemingly by landing on his sword. the butterfly then realizes he is a good person and because of this his wish is granted: to become stronger and fight! (this can be shown by galacta knight instantly attacking kirby at first meeting in return to dreamland) of course morpho knight loses and he is vaporized into butterflies and hearts. These hearts may be the result of the butterfly trying to get stronger overtime (this can be shown by there being more than one butterflies in the cutcenes from robobot) so the butterfly may have seen galacta knights wish and it realized they both have the same wish so the butterfly combined itself with galacta knight. the hearts may have been there because one of the hearts that flew down from space onto popstar (kirbys home planet) and know there were more than one pink hearts falling so another one may have fallen one the butterfly (or more than one considering the butterfly seems to have stronger friend heart powers than kirby who only got one heart) pure being: this may have been part of the theory about glacta knight being an overall good guy that thought meta knight wa attacking him in superstar so he decided to defend him self by fighting. dark past: in the kirby 25th anniversary art book you can see morpho knight and he is described as an older version of meta knight that was decided to not be used for meta knights real design (he did have a different sword though...) stuff you forgot: in the true arena in superstar ultra when kirby defeated galacta knight he didn't explode with his wings flying off of him, he just flew away so in return to dream land he may have never even been dead and just got seald back into that crystal seal somewhere else so that explains why galacta knight just came out of nowhere in return to dreamland. conclusion: how does galacta knight keep breaking the seal he was in, is he sleeping in the seal on purpose as a playing possum sort of thing to build power overtime? and why does the butterfly want to attack kirby (shown by the butterfly landing on kirby to watch or observe him to gather info on him overtime) overall: nobody knows anything about how the butterfly's possible grudge o kirby or if it just wants to see the world burn... OH MY GROB THAT TOOK SO LONG TO TYPE!

You missed something. The Morpho knight attack where he drags hos sword across the ground can break through your guard, and locks you into what is basically Ike's final smash from smash Bros. I know this because I lost the soul melter run I had going to it.

When nova summons galacta knight, he says “I will summon this great warrior once more”. Implying that galacta knight has been summoned from confinement before.
So I have a theory... The latest game calls Galacta Knight "Temporal Warrior". Temporal means TIME. Time is often mentioned in Galacta Knight's flavor text. I think it's perfectly reasonable to presume that Galacta Knight is a time traveler, and that the order in which he is fought in the games may not be chronological from his perspective. In fact, there's pretty good evidence that the order in which he is fought is, in fact, exactly backwards - each encounter with him takes place BEFORE the earlier encounter. At the end of Planet Robobot, he is sealed inside a crystal. In Return to Dream Land, he emerges from this same crystal, is defeated, and flies away. In SSU, his wings are torn off, and this may be where he dies for real. The first time we see him is, from his perspective, his last. So what's up with Morpho Knight? Maybe Galacta originated as Morpho Knight, and then his butterfly aspect was split off? Maybe the butterfly is his "good" side and once separated Galacta goes crazy? If we are encountering him in reverse order, he may be "born" in the future. Maybe he is even a character we know. Wait a minute. He's round and pink... Could Galacta Knight be FUTURE KIRBY, traveling backwards through time?
Maybe Galacta Knight is a future fusion of Kirby and Meta Knight who maybe fused together when Dark Matter and other dark villain's where reborn as servant's of Void Termina Kirby and Meta Knight realized they needed a warrior powerful enough to defeat all of these monster's so they merged with each other sadly the merger caused indescribable pain leading to the Butterfly using it's power to join the fused being creating Morpho Knight sadly the Meta Knight and Kirby aspect's wanted the pain to end finally so they continued to risk their lives in battle sadly no warrior could defeat them so they went back in time to battle the only warrior's who could end their suffering those being themselves so the reason they usually challenge Meta Knight and not Kirby is because Kirby didn't kill and they wanted death so only challenge Meta Knight and continued going further back so that each time he get's closer to a Meta Knight that would kill him finally

Galacta Knight's always been one of my favourite Kirby characters, and I really do hope we get to learn more about him in the future. This video has given me some new ideas to think about, but the fights against Galacta always felt to me like he was, in a way, testing Meta and Kirby. Never demonstrating his full potential, gauging the capabilities of the two and using enough power as necessary. My personal stance is that he is a hero from a bygone age, and he's always using his appearances to help train Kirby and Meta Knight for further enemies who would threaten Dream Land. On a different note, I always loved the Galacta Knight battles because they were always hard fought and I genuinely felt like I earned the victories against him. By comparison, Morpho Knight's battle SUCKED! For something reborn using Galacta Knight's energy, he got wrecked WAY too easily >.>
So here’s my theory, the games go 3, when he’s put into a crystal, 2, when he’s released from his crystal, 4, when he flies up, maybe to a jail, then one, when he’s truely defeated
(So forgotten land added more to the lore of morpho, as the butterfly absorbs ID-F86 and still transforms into morpho knight, it’s said that the butterfly needs to absorb a powerful enough being to be able to transform into morpho knight regardless of who was absorbed.) so this is pretty interesting, with all this I think Kirby will never trust yellowish-orange butterflies ever again…
Maybe the butterfly that you see at the end of guest star with meta knight is the other one because it seems that the one that becomes morpho knight is gone
What if when the jamba heart exploded one of the friend hearts landed on or near that butterfly reason why when morpho knight is defeated hearts also come out or maybe it was the dark hearts
A theory I always had for his first appearance was that Galacta Knight never actually existed. Instead, Meta Knight was actually already the strongest warrior and Nova just had to create a strong warrior from scratch. That would explain why Galacta Knight is so similar.
but didn't slice and splice split things into male and female? or was galacta knight female and therefore "pure" due to the pink colour scheme, and the bad side of him is morpho knight, who is male, and therefore much fiercer and probably more power - hungry, hence his more evil, red look. we never hear either say anything other than "...….." but maybe slice and splice used to be much more powerful, as to be able to split two beings and give them equal power. perhaps this is what turns galacta knight evil- the knowledge that half of his former self is somewhere in another dimension, or right behind him now. maybe he's still trying to claim back that other half of himself lost so many years ago.
Maybe the butterfly is some kind of judgement deity (possibly the bringer of this universe’s version of galactic Armageddon), and tried to get all the power necessary to be able to bring it. Let’s not forget it always tried to grab Kirby (considering the amount of planetary destruction and up level demons he’s slaughtered this is not a surprise), but he could not absorb him, for Kirby is a pure good soul who could not be corrupted. He only goes after super powerful monsters and bosses (Like Galacta Knight and Void Soul).
In the Kirby anime series "Kirby right Back at y" there was this monster created by the company "Nightmare Enterprise" that could split beings in half and combine them with something else. What if this is what happened with Galacta and Morpho? That they were once one person, but during the war between N.M.E and the star Warriors (Meta Knight and others) that this night and that monster fought and ended up split in two. This could also explain the dark past that is mentioned, and as to why they have no memory of their past. This could also explain as to why Meta Knight would not recognize the warrior who fought alongside him because they are essentially two different people now, who look totally different.
I hate to correct ya on note 8, but when you use kirby in planet robobot's true arena, galacta knight is seen breaking out of the crystal he was sealed in when he fought meta knight.
spoiler, the butterfly returns in forgatten land in the post game, and by the looks of it, she doesn't absorb and takes the form of who she absorbs, but she gains the powers, because she absorbs the soul forgo and continues with the form of morpho knight, however during the battle he manages to use the forgo' powers, HAL needs to make a meta knight only game to explain all this confusion
That description makes me think that when Meta Knight wished to fight the greatest warrior in the galaxy, Nova just created a copy of meta knight, in a weird paradoxical way. With that temporal warrior subtitle, maybe Meta Knight from the future.

To be fair Galacta Knight also is fought in Soul Melter, For Soul Melter EX that came with the latest update you fight an even stronger version of Morpho Knight.

In the description for galacta knight or morpho knight, it explains the butterfly is related to the kirby afterlife, like heaven. And the butterfly had decided it was time for galacta knight to go. But the description says the butterfly heard the knights desperate cries, so the butterfly allowed him to become an eternal knight. So Galacta Did fuse with the butterfly, and he has become one with the butter fly.
Did only i notice one thing? In almost every game kirby wakes up with this BUTTERfly on his head i think that this butter just captures kirby and takes control
I'm just going on design here but to me Meta knight and Galacta knight look like mature star warriors (adult kirbys) who were predisposed to being evil and good respectively but were raised or mentored to be the opposite. Meta knight has evil wings but dresses and acts noble and fair. Maybe his nature needed to be controlled with a code and he leaned into that. Galacta knight has angelic wings but a more evil than noble ascetic to his armor. Maybe he had a big heart and needed his rage to really be tapped into in order to fulfill his orders.

As a massive Kirby fan playing Star Allies. My jaw damn near hit the floor when i saw the butterfly come down. I noticed it in the recent games aswell and figured "oh hey its the butterfly" until star allies. I was speechless when he turned into Morpho Knight, or as I called him before I saw the name, Beta Knight seeing as he's Meta Knights beta design

But in a Japanese interview, the director said that Morpho Knight ate Galacta Knight out of "sympathy" or "pity"
So Galacta went out screaming, but Morpho Knight did it because he had reason to feel sorry for him.

theory: the butterfly needed to tap onto galacta knight to become morpho knight, but since he and kirby look similar it kept confusing kirby for galacta knight, then when he finally found galacta knight, he was finally able to become morpho knight
The butterfly wasn’t trying to become morpho knight when it casted judgment on him but turned into morpho after hearing the galacta knight’s cries and decided to let him become a knight forever by fusing with him

With how similar their designs are, I believe that Galacta Knight is a member of Kirby and Meta Knight's race of Star Warrior from many, many years ago and was sealed away for whatever evil deeds it committed in his 'dark past'. My theory:
The butterfly has been watching over Kirby and his friends to see if they are ready to fight Morpho Knight yet. Galacta Knight is just a test. When star dream summons Galacta Knight, he says to meta knight: "The benefits of this final battle outweigh the collateral damage." So I think the benefits are Meta Knight proving his strength so that he can fight Morpho Knight later.

I think there is a metamorphosis life cycle in kirby's kind with Kirby being first, Meta Knight second, Galacta Knight third (notice the horns), Void termina (notice the horns grown bigger/mask still present), Void soul being last (notice the dark matter look/kirby look). Kirby's kind is like a star...eventually losing shape. This process is probably prompted by eating/copy ability, notice we never see meta knight eat/copy others (possible an attempt to not become corrupt or lose himself. One could say kirby's gut isnt unlimited eventually bursting open into a void....void soul.

I think that Kirby, Meta Knight, Galactia Knight, Morpho Knight, and Dark Meta Knight are the same species, and they were all created simotaniusally; having being made by bits of their creator’s soul; (who is the leader of the four people who sealed Void Termina away, before Kirby defeats him)on the day of judgement,which happens every millennium; (except Morpho Knight and Kirby), and sent to different universes, and were sealed away in crystals, and released (except Galactia)had a battle between each other at one point, after Galactia Knight was released, and, BTW, Meta Knight is the only one that didn’t get corrupted, their creator made The butterfly to stop the battle, and it; apparently; worked, but when she realized that the butterfly had absorbed too much power from the residents of Dreamland (by just flying around), and she tried to destroy it, but got herself sealed in a heart shaped, rainbow crystal, eventually becoming Kirby’s soul, which absorbed happiness, positivety and pinkness (duh). And so, that, my freinds, is my theory (BTW, I think the crystal revived him.)
So we have Meta Knight with bat wings, Galacta Knight with bird wings, and Morph Knight with butterfly wings. Coincidence? I think not!

You know, I've just realized that Galatica's eyes are purple - the same color of Meta Knight's when he got possessed by a dark Jamba Heart. Perhaps this happened to Galatica in his past so he was sealed away. And perhaps the butterfly can't fuse with Kirby cause he's not the proper host - he's just too purehearted, or maybe it wanted Kirby and friends to "lure" Galatica out by fighting him. Also, Galatica's eyes turn to a normal "yellow" after the butterfly fusion. Same as Meta Knight's normal eye color.

I mean, there were a few missing Jamba Hearts, even if you account for the one that ended up inside Kirby that gave him the -Brainwashing- Friendship Heart power.
I wouldn't say that the eye color is exactly evidence of that specifically (Meta Knight's eyes turned purple when under the control of Yin Yarn as well), there's no evidence against it either. As such, while your theory can't be proven at the current moment, it can't be disproven either.

Since Galacta Knight's boss title is "Temporal Warrior" I'm under the impression that the order of events we experience Galacta Knight is not the same order that he experiences them. In SSU he get brought in through a portal of some kind and meets his apperant death or destruction. RtDL he enters in a crystal then flies away. And in Robobot he comes through a star portal and is then locked into the crystal prison from RtDL. In some manner Galacta Knight is not bound to the same constrains of Time as the rest of the Kirby universe. I believe that Morpho Knight is an entirely different entity from Galacta, but still a more matured member of the star warrior race Kirby belongs to.
Yeah, at this point Galacta is THOROUGHLY unstuck in time. In previous lore theories I had made comments about, I posited that Morpho Knight had been cursed into his butterfly form (which I call 'Morpho' for convenience) by a great evil. IMO, this evil was very likely Dark Matter/ Zero since it seems like HAL is REALLY pushing Dark Matter lately (Gooey is back, Dark Matter Sword is back, Void Termina straight up has a form that looks like Dark Matter, etc.) and the "Day of Judgment" likely is referring to the day Zero reforms once more as 0³. I also think Morpho Knight was once good, but has been driven insane due to isolation and is lashing out out of baser instincts. I think we're going to start seeing a rivalry between Galacta Knight and Morpho, since both need the same power source to exist as combatants. Galacta Knight needs the power to stay tethered to the present, and Morpho needs it to revert to his true Morpho Knight form.

I kind of had a story planned on how it can work out which is a but reminiscent to the Megaman X or Zero series but with a Kirby feel and would take a lot of traits form Kirby and the Amazing Mirrors, Return to Dreamland, and Planet Robobot in terms of lore and characters. As for Galacta Knight, I am thinking he shouldn’t really be in the main story but would have some lore of him hinted in Metroid Prime style journal logs that would probably explain more about the past who Galacta Knight really was, which would unlock a bonus or extra mode where you get all of them, where you encounter Galacta Knight/Morpho Knight.

Here's my theory to why Morpho Knight even exists. Remember how in the main story, there are 4 pieces of the heart missing? Here's what I think. The butterfly was both infected with a dark piece, and given friendship powers like kirby. But, kirby, being able to steal the abilities of his enemies was given the power to make them his friends with their respective abilities. The butterfly, however, was given the power to fuse with with beings and become and mix with them as if they both went through meta-morphosis together instantly. However, being it got struck with said dark heart, it didnt use those powers correctly, instead using them for evil. Galacta Knight also got struck by a dark heart making him more evil and strong than ever, which is why Hyness switched to summoning him instead of Void Termina. So we get to the Morpho Knight fight. Galacta Knight is there, but how did the butterfly get there? We see it was friendly to kirby before, and it was still friendly to him throughout the story, having been struck with both friendship and evil. So, being a friend with kirby, it followed him and/or his friends, all the way to the summoning area. It could tell that Kirby and co. had been fighting, and wanted to help. Galacta Knight had just been summoned, so the fighting had stopped long enough for the butterfly to not know the attacker. It sensed Galacta Knight's power and mistook it for kirby's friend, and decided to fuse with him, thus why we see a heart around them as they fuse. But of course, Galacta Knight is not good, and is far more powerful than the butterfly, so Galacta Knight is still in control. Having accidentally given Galacta Knight powers, it was then forced to fight Kirby. Thus then leads to Kirby succeeding and Galacta Knight dying (again), but with the butterfly.
Only for the butterfly to live again and take the life form
It mustook gala at for Kirby,not his friend. AS only them two in that scene were of similar form. I think the butterfly took galaxta’s ability to fuse and galaxy’s got good friendship powers but didn’t use them, but hthe butterfly got bad powers and didn’t use them.

Well, in Robobot, when you beat Mecha Knight one of the times, you see Meta Knight's true face - he's the same species as Kirby. Galacta and Morpho are the same shape, and have the same kind of hands and feet as Meta and Kirby.

That can be right. It was able to possess Galacta Knight when he was awake.
I think it is because Kirby is too unfocused with a key ability aka the copy ability so Morpho knight couldn't make a stable possession without being a copy ability.
Next game should be "Kirby Galactic Knights" and it explains the Star Warrior past, Kirbys race, Meta Knights climb to be a great warrior, and the origin of Galacta Knight, and the Butterfly of doom.
I believe the reason Galacta Knight reacts this way is because he is cursed to wander the galaxy, fighting new warriors seeking a challenge, the Universe sends him to Kirby and Friends time and time again, and each time he begins fighting immediately, which makes me think maybe this is how he can break the curse on himself, by winning against the Universes strongest Star Warrior (Kirby)
But he fails, and gets sent forward in time to fight again.
Now he's reunited with a being of immense power, Meta Knight knows the trouble this Butterfly can cause, but he lets it be, either out of fear, or uncertainty.
I think Nintendo has been trying to hint at a bigger Kirby game in the making, one that explains everything, one that transcends time to Kirbys past and future battles, all with the one goal to possibly set Galacta Knight free from his curse.
Because he's Kirby, and even the bad guys need some love. (I mean, look at Marx in KSA, he's actually HELPING Kirby now, probably because he's afraid, or because he realizes that Kirby can't be defeated.)

galacta knight being considered the greatest warrior in the galaxy is a title he had from many millenia before kirby and meta knight arrived on scene. He isn't the modern greatest warrior, but in his time no one could challenge him.

judgement day: the butterfly tries to see if galacta knight is a good guy, seemingly by landing on his sword. the butterfly then realizes he is a good person and because of this his wish is granted: to become stronger and fight! (this can be shown by galacta knight instantly attacking kirby at first meeting in return to dreamland) of course morpho knight loses and he is vaporized into butterflies and hearts. These hearts may be the result of the butterfly trying to get stronger overtime (this can be shown by there being more than one butterflies in the cutcenes from robobot) so the butterfly may have seen galacta knights wish and it realized they both have the same wish so the butterfly combined itself with galacta knight. the hearts may have been there because one of the hearts that flew down from space onto popstar (kirbys home planet) and know there were more than one pink hearts falling so another one may have fallen one the butterfly (or more than one considering the butterfly seems to have stronger friend heart powers than kirby who only got one heart)
pure being: this may have been part of the theory about glacta knight being an overall good guy that thought meta knight wa attacking him in superstar so he decided to defend him self by fighting.
dark past: in the kirby 25th anniversary art book you can see morpho knight and he is described as an older version of meta knight that was decided to not be used for meta knights real design (he did have a different sword though...)
stuff you forgot: in the true arena in superstar ultra when kirby defeated galacta knight he didn't explode with his wings flying off of him, he just flew away so in return to dream land he may have never even been dead and just got seald back into that crystal seal somewhere else so that explains why galacta knight just came out of nowhere in return to dreamland.
conclusion: how does galacta knight keep breaking the seal he was in, is he sleeping in the seal on purpose as a playing possum sort of thing to build power overtime? and why does the butterfly want to attack kirby (shown by the butterfly landing on kirby to watch or observe him to gather info on him overtime) overall: nobody knows anything about how the butterfly's possible grudge o kirby or if it just wants to see the world burn...

You missed something. The Morpho knight attack where he drags hos sword across the ground can break through your guard, and locks you into what is basically Ike's final smash from smash Bros. I know this because I lost the soul melter run I had going to it.

So I have a theory... The latest game calls Galacta Knight "Temporal Warrior". Temporal means TIME. Time is often mentioned in Galacta Knight's flavor text. I think it's perfectly reasonable to presume that Galacta Knight is a time traveler, and that the order in which he is fought in the games may not be chronological from his perspective. In fact, there's pretty good evidence that the order in which he is fought is, in fact, exactly backwards - each encounter with him takes place BEFORE the earlier encounter.
At the end of Planet Robobot, he is sealed inside a crystal.
In Return to Dream Land, he emerges from this same crystal, is defeated, and flies away.
In SSU, his wings are torn off, and this may be where he dies for real. The first time we see him is, from his perspective, his last.
So what's up with Morpho Knight? Maybe Galacta originated as Morpho Knight, and then his butterfly aspect was split off? Maybe the butterfly is his "good" side and once separated Galacta goes crazy? If we are encountering him in reverse order, he may be "born" in the future. Maybe he is even a character we know.

Maybe Galacta Knight is a future fusion of Kirby and Meta Knight who maybe fused together when Dark Matter and other dark villain's where reborn as servant's of Void Termina Kirby and Meta Knight realized they needed a warrior powerful enough to defeat all of these monster's so they merged with each other sadly the merger caused indescribable pain leading to the Butterfly using it's power to join the fused being creating Morpho Knight sadly the Meta Knight and Kirby aspect's wanted the pain to end finally so they continued to risk their lives in battle sadly no warrior could defeat them so they went back in time to battle the only warrior's who could end their suffering those being themselves so the reason they usually challenge Meta Knight and not Kirby is because Kirby didn't kill and they wanted death so only challenge Meta Knight and continued going further back so that each time he get's closer to a Meta Knight that would kill him finally

Galacta Knight's always been one of my favourite Kirby characters, and I really do hope we get to learn more about him in the future. This video has given me some new ideas to think about, but the fights against Galacta always felt to me like he was, in a way, testing Meta and Kirby. Never demonstrating his full potential, gauging the capabilities of the two and using enough power as necessary. My personal stance is that he is a hero from a bygone age, and he's always using his appearances to help train Kirby and Meta Knight for further enemies who would threaten Dream Land. On a different note, I always loved the Galacta Knight battles because they were always hard fought and I genuinely felt like I earned the victories against him. By comparison, Morpho Knight's battle SUCKED! For something reborn using Galacta Knight's energy, he got wrecked WAY too easily >.>

(So forgotten land added more to the lore of morpho, as the butterfly absorbs ID-F86 and still transforms into morpho knight, it’s said that the butterfly needs to absorb a powerful enough being to be able to transform into morpho knight regardless of who was absorbed.) so this is pretty interesting, with all this I think Kirby will never trust yellowish-orange butterflies ever again…

A theory I always had for his first appearance was that Galacta Knight never actually existed.
Instead, Meta Knight was actually already the strongest warrior and Nova just had to create a strong warrior from scratch.

but didn't slice and splice split things into male and female? or was galacta knight female and therefore "pure" due to the pink colour scheme, and the bad side of him is morpho knight, who is male, and therefore much fiercer and probably more power - hungry, hence his more evil, red look. we never hear either say anything other than "...….." but maybe slice and splice used to be much more powerful, as to be able to split two beings and give them equal power. perhaps this is what turns galacta knight evil- the knowledge that half of his former self is somewhere in another dimension, or right behind him now. maybe he's still trying to claim back that other half of himself lost so many years ago.

Maybe the butterfly is some kind of judgement deity (possibly the bringer of this universe’s version of galactic Armageddon), and tried to get all the power necessary to be able to bring it. Let’s not forget it always tried to grab Kirby (considering the amount of planetary destruction and up level demons he’s slaughtered this is not a surprise), but he could not absorb him, for Kirby is a pure good soul who could not be corrupted. He only goes after super powerful monsters and bosses (Like Galacta Knight and Void Soul).
In the Kirby anime series "Kirby right Back at y" there was this monster created by the company "Nightmare Enterprise" that could split beings in half and combine them with something else. What if this is what happened with Galacta and Morpho? That they were once one person, but during the war between N.M.E and the star Warriors (Meta Knight and others) that this night and that monster fought and ended up split in two. This could also explain the dark past that is mentioned, and as to why they have no memory of their past. This could also explain as to why Meta Knight would not recognize the warrior who fought alongside him because they are essentially two different people now, who look totally different.

In the description for galacta knight or morpho knight, it explains the butterfly is related to the kirby afterlife, like heaven. And the butterfly had decided it was time for galacta knight to go. But the description says the butterfly heard the knights desperate cries, so the butterfly allowed him to become an eternal knight. So Galacta Did fuse with the butterfly, and he has become one with the butter fly.

I'm just going on design here but to me Meta knight and Galacta knight look like mature star warriors (adult kirbys) who were predisposed to being evil and good respectively but were raised or mentored to be the opposite. Meta knight has evil wings but dresses and acts noble and fair. Maybe his nature needed to be controlled with a code and he leaned into that. Galacta knight has angelic wings but a more evil than noble ascetic to his armor. Maybe he had a big heart and needed his rage to really be tapped into in order to fulfill his orders.
