@@steinisfinance7979 Hey! Thanks for replying to my comment. I'm a contractor (design-build, I do everything, a lot of welding in particular). I'm actually building a sheet for project management functionality that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I've looked at all the different CRMs, all the contractor apps, Basecamp, everything. I'm going to create a startup to make the construction industry better. This will be part of it! I'm planning to convert my sheet to an app. I don't plan on being the best developer or engineer in the world, more the big picture person, but I love to get my hands dirty and need to know enough coding etc. to be able to work and talk shop with anyone that might work for me eventually. This is going to be exciting. I really appreciate people like you putting content out. Thanks so much for this video!
So as someone from germany I need to input it this way because with the comma it doesn't work (maybe because we use comma for decimal numbers instead of a point) =SPARKLINE(B2;{"charttype"\"bar"; "max"\C2})
Theoretically could you make a progress bar for potential employees? Filled out Resume>Potential Candidate>Call back>interview>hired ..? Depending on what step they were on, it would show 20%/40%/60% (or more/less depending on how many steps)
Thank you it works. However, how can i also display as text the actual value of the 'current' Note: am creating the progress bar on a diff tab, hence need to also show the value
Amazing video! Thanks! I'm still looking for a way to put the value (in your video "current") in de same cell... I know it is possible in Excel but in Google Sheets ??
Thank you for the comment! I haven't found a solution for that yet im afraid. I think the difference is that in Excel you use conditional formatting for the cell but in Google Sheets you have to use the formula bar to use the function. I will get back to you if I find a solution! 😀
I hope it helps you out! For sure, visual presentation is always more fun to look at then just numbers haha! Thanks for stopping by and commenting, I appreciate it!
Google sheets says: :"Error: Circular dependency detected. To resolve with iterative calculation, see File > Settings." and then when I go to that Iterative calculation I don't know what to put..
Fantastic tutorial, the only one I could find that helped. But now I'm running into an error message where I haven't input my data yet. Is there a way to ignore if the cells are empty? I can't seem to wrap my head around it. I have =SPARKLINE(D2,{"charttype","bar";"max",E2;"color1",IF(D2
Badass. I spent all morning looking for something like this. Everywhere else I looked was convoluted. Much appreciated.
Great to hear! Thanks for leaving a comment :)

Thank you 🤩
real heroes don't wear capes
Thanks!!! 🤓
Vielen vielen Dank!!! Du hast mein Leben gerettet!
Sau stark, danke! Hast du auch den Code für die bedingte Formatierung der Farbe rausbekommen? 👀 bekomm das nicht hin haha
Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Panama 🇵🇦
great video! is there a way to show a % progress on the bar?
Amazing tutorial, very didactic and straight to the point
Thanks a lot for the comment! Im glad you liked it 😊
=sparkline(D2,{"charttype","bar";"max",E2}) the code
thanks man you saved my time
=sparkline(d2,{"charttype","bar";"max",e2})
Thankz

Excellent. Thanks for sharing
that was pretty neat and i really loved it , thank you for this man it helped me a lot
Exactly what I looked for. Thank you
Hi Thanks for this,, can we have a copy of the whole formula,, I can barely see it in the video..Thanks
Thank you it works. However, how can i also display as text the actual value of the 'current'

Amazing thank you! Any idea how to change the color of the bar by any chance??
what if you wanna add multiple conditions? like progress 30% orange 70% yellow?
You can nest the condition
Thanks , how to make a progress bar vertical ?
is it possible to fill the remaining side of the progress bar that is left empty with a different color bar as well?
Yes no problem! You use "color2" instead of "color1". So you would add to the formula ;"color2","yourcolorhere". Let me know if it works for you!

Hi, thank you for posting this video. I have thinking bout adding a progress bar for my budgeting portfolio to make it more exciting! :)

Function SPARKLINE parameter 2 option max expects number values. But '' is a text and cannot be coerced to a number.
Google sheets says: :"Error: Circular dependency detected. To resolve with iterative calculation, see File > Settings." and then when I go to that Iterative calculation I don't know what to put..
Thank you - super helpful!

I have =SPARKLINE(D2,{"charttype","bar";"max",E2;"color1",IF(D2
Add "IFERROR(" after the = sign and hit enter
Thanks!
Thanks for your video. Short Concise and very cool. 👊🏼💥
thank u
Is not working. Can you put what you type in a coment please.Thank you
use ; and \ instead of commas
Sorry. I did =SPARKLINE(C5,{"charttype","Bar","Max",D5;"COLOR1";IF(C5
u have mistakes
Nope this did not work. My values are currency. Is that why?
Thank youuu
Doesn’t work for me.
use ; and \ instead of commas
Still doesn’t
