  • My Skoda Fabia TDI started to display a warning light, having run the diagnostic its turn out to be the ERG and Turbo. Having had a quote it would have cost £800 - £950 to replace. I found cleaning it addressed the issue. While open it is easy to replace the airfilter and the clear out the airflow valve.

Really appreciate this video. Was getting bamboozled by mechanic about £500 for a turbo or actuator or all new pipes etc.
I needed to know if it’s n75 before ordering one and your bypass test worked a treat with the lid of a biro pen. Only drove it 100 yards and knew instantly turbo was back

Tar for this, I just did it and hands down the turbo kicks in faster, I was getting the glow plug light once every 6 months then it would just go away, garage couldn't work it out but this did the trick for me!

I am glad it did the trick. I found doing this periodically seems to work well.

i will try it! I have the same issue! Hope to get it fixed, idk if i can find the same product, but maybe something like this should do the trick! Thank you very much!

Do remember to do it before the MOT. Last time I had the issue and forgot, the light showing on the dash is a fail for the MOT.

Brilliant video but how do you actually take the pipe off? I'm struggling to even disconnect it.

It was clipped on with the metal clip, I used a large flexi spanner to do that. I pre-sprayed all the screws etc with WD40 and left it to work before starting

    Dear Pjukone
    Have a Good Day. 👍
    I'm from India.
    I'm afraid..,
Lucas Diesel EGR cleaner, is not available in India
Liquimoly is having 'Diesel Purge' for this purpose.
But because of heavy demand in Market, this product is out of Stock, every time when I want to purchase.
please help me which other company is making Similar product (EGR Volve Cleaner)
    thanks
    - Prasad Red'dy

Hi Ashish, it was a P0401error. I've had to do this a few times now as it tends to go off for a few months and re-appears until I clean it again.

    Thats the wrong way !!
First: Raise the RPM to 2000 - 2500 and apply the product!
Secondly, take for a long spin in 4th and allow a dpf regen.

U are wrong. On diesel if u rev to 2000 rpm or above, engine will explode....

It's a foolish idea.. first you understand egr location and function

In my view its a design flaw, we know what it does but putting it under the engine in a place where you need to bleed the coolant and take the exhaust off just to reach it, as in some cars it is easy to access.
