please fix your eyes on Jesus and his love for you even when you’re a sinner, not on what you’re experiencing right now. Our experiences will go up and down but what Jesus has done for us never changes. His love never changes. His saving grace never changes. His righteousness never changes. His holiness never changes. Let Him be our only trust.

Ecclesiastes is a book on the human endeavor, regardless of it's state. It is a book telling you not to worry about most things. It tells you if an answer to a question has no practical relevance, it won't do anything for you, but make you neurotic. It says to focus on what you are doing, and be in awe of how much you can't know, fully. I've not heard anyone speak on Ecclesiastes for what it is, but it's the very basis of a relationship with God. Acknowledging we are within His will, and our own efforts are less than futile. It states that reality is, regardless of what we think, or know. That it has no concern for us, and regardless, it will continue to go on. It's a lesson in humility, that we shouldnt try too hard to understand what God has done, because we will just continue, and an answer doesn't change anything. It was true before you knew it, and knowing it, doesn't make it do more, it's just the same. Ecclesiastes tells you your place. How God sees our efforts, is like this. No; one should look to God. And the wisdom, and knowledge of God. I would think Paul has more to say on boredom.... How you should use your mind. But, generally, people are naturally curious, and need to be learning, or figuring out, or wondering, or else. Actually, getting all the answers would be the most boring life imaginable.

You know when Pastor John has never considered a topic before, it's going to be a good episode :)
It's so tempting to struggle with the desire to feel satisfied here on this earth. Even though we may know full well that money, sex, power, pleasure, etc. won't fulfill us, sometimes we are tempted to run toward those sinful things in order to 'feel something' - which, in the context of this episode, we see is essentially the attempt to alleviate boredom. So it's helpful to consider that in the times I feel bored and unsatisfied, this is a intentional feeling that God created to remind me that true satisfaction and everything truly interesting is found only through Him.

This is such a beautiful truth. I remember the hymn Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus and the line "And the things of earth will grow strangely dim". I used to become disheartened that the hobbies or pleasures in my life no longer have any appeal, but now knowing the purpose, I learn to appreciate it.

Praise Yahweh the one true God. Revealed Triune as Father, Spirit, and Jesus the Son, each member fully God of which there is only one. 3 distinct Persons coexistant, coequal, and coeternal sharing 1 Divine Essence. Jesus lives and is God, Christ, King. Repent of your sin and believe in Him and be saved to eternal life!

Wow! My students at an Exceptional Education School would say “I’m bored” & I would begin my little lecture! The others who had had my class before would chastise that student,”No! Don’t say that word”.
Well, I would let them know what true boring was! The profoundly handicapped students here had feeding tubes, sat forever in wheelchairs, etc. “They can’t chew pizza, fries, crunchy cereal; so, the cooks blend it altogether!! Yum, right?” They got that boring picture. Never said it again.

  • @lindaruppert4632

Towards the beginning you were talking about the word itself: boredom. And my mind went off on a tangent, don’t know if my wandering thoughts are good enough but I wanted to share them anyway.
To bore is to drill a hole in something. In an earlobe, in a rock or dirt, in a piece of leather, etc. When you remove the instrument you were using you are left with a hole, an empty space. Then the boreDOM part. KingDOM is an area that is ruled by a king. So then, can it be said that boredom is an area that is ruled by emptiness? Just a thought. We need the Spirit of Christ to fill us all in all.

      Exodus 2:3-10
"3 When she could hide him( Moses😊❤) no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank.
4 And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him.
5 Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it.
6 When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, " This is the one of the Hebrews' children."
7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, " Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?"
8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her,
      " Go."
So the girl went and called the child's mother.
9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, " Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages." So the woman took the child and nursed him.
10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses,

      "31 Then he(Jesus 😊1st❤)

32 And they bought to him a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment, and they begged him to lay his hand on him.
33 And taking him aside from the crowd privately, he put his fingers❤

34 And looking up to heaven, he ( Jesus 😊1st❤) signed and said to him, " Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened."

    Please clear my doubt
Q: Why did King Solomon, who is known for his wisdom, could not know that he is sinning against the Lord by marrying the forbidden class of people. Being filled with God's wisdom couldn't he have known? How could such a wise person fall prey to such a sin?
I am a Christian, completed reading the NT and now am reading OT, so I need guidance.
And forgive me if I have hurt any of your sentiments.
Do remember me in prayers, struggling for my life, giving exams

    • @psalms3-3

The answer, I believe, is that he knowingly sinned. All of us turn a blind eye or make some excuse when we sin, but we still know it’s a sin and keep doing it anyways. His father David knew he was sinning when he killed Uriah and took his wife, but he, unlike Solomon, repented and turned back to God (though there were still big consequences for this sin, he was still counted as righteous through faith in the end) Hope that helps! :)
