I just had catarac surgery last week. The only post op instructions were the eye drops 3 times a day. I wish he had told me all of this information. Thank you.

Don't rub them...use your drops for a month, be careful when removing makeup...and wear sunnies outside.

It's been a month and 1/2 since my surgery, both eyes. I have done every thing the doctors have prescribed, still doing the drops and all pain has gone away. I am able to see perfectly clear, 20/20 in one eye and 20/21 in the other. I chose the mono vision since I had worn contacts with the same strength. I wore glasses since I was a child and now I am free of glasses and contacts and wish I could have done this earlier. I wear safety glasses when I sleep and especially if I keep a fan on . I wear these clear safety glasses for cooking, washing dishes, dusting, and showering as well. I do not rub my eyes and it will be a long time before I even decide to wear make up .This is the only set of eyes we are given and it is very important that you take care of them as if your life depended on it. My doctors are amazed at how quickly I have recuperated and how well I can see. As for shampoos or moisturizers, etc, it doesn't matter what you use, just make sure it doesn't get into your eyes, period. Hope all of you who get these procedures done, will see how bright our world is and how renewing our eyesight can be so beautiful.
