I am growing super dwellers in batches of 6. Once they max all their SPECIAL I throw a Scarred Power Armor or something else with plenty of benefits, particularly to E, on them, add a Firehydrant Bat, or something else powerful but NOT an Missile or FatMan as they don't kill off indivudals but wear down all the enemies at once should you get to explore something which means more enemies beat on you longer, then send them out with 25 stim packs and 15 radaway. I haven't had one die yet. Between 2-3 days they go from level 1 up to level 50, hit max capacity, and turn around for home. When they get back I take their exploring gear and put them to work then send out the next batch who are ready to go.
That's it, I'll be the first to admit they are pretty mid, but they look so cool, except for scarred power armor and wars armor. These two are the exception

What questlines should I do to get good rewards?
Definitely not the holiday ones, and the further into a quest line you are the better the loot
how do you get the legendary recipes
Is it random or is predetermined in the Quest
it’s completely random. u can find some legendary recipes on certain quests tho. but u never know what that will contain
