Heathrow T5 Transit train - Departures, Arrivals & Observations

Heathrow transit train is located in terminal 5 and opened in 2008. This video includes some clips of the train arriving and departing as well as announcements and front view.

I believe this would come under "misuse of communication equipment" in the bylaws which means the airport can remove you from the premises and give you a fixed penalty fine.

So let me get this straight, the center platform at each station is for boarding and the outside is for alighting? And the boarding doors stay shut before everyone is off to avoid mixing departure and arrival passengers? And the two tracks are independent of one another, so each train goes back and forth on its own track without crossing over?

Yeah pretty much. It works though. Having a crossover would add complications, and the doors shutting is so that it is harder for people to accidentally go to the wrong area

Yes, as the transit is airside you have to be getting a flight to ride on it. In this case it was a school trip to Berlin.

​@MyLifeAsIsaac you can film regardless as all passengers use the transit train (track transit system) to get to the B and C gate terminals. I work there.

Only take the transit if you are going to gates B and C. The signs are very clear if you need to take the transit or not

​@@MrQarsimthe terminal has WiFi through out. You can only use the transit if your flight is departing from B or C gates. When arriving. You can use the train to go to B gates if your next flight connection goes from T5B. And you can use the train to get to Arrivals, border control and baggage reclaim and also flight connections in T5A.
